Isaiah 17 is the "Oracle Against Damascus". It describes the total destruction overnight of the city of Damascus; how this powerful city-state (which is one of the, if not THE, longest continuously occupied locations in the world) is so reduced to rubble that people don't return, but it becomes a place for shepherds to herd their flocks. Most modern readers interpret the events as "Damascus is destroyed with a nuclear device". I'm not convinced that this is the time for Isaiah 17. I believe it will happen after the War of Psalm 83, and will then be associated with (maybe even a trigger for) the War of Gog/Magog. We know Isaiah 17 will take place in late November or early December. The harvest season for olives in Israel is from Sept. through Nov. (3 months); and Isaiah 17 describes gleaners going through the fields harvesting olives. Gleaners go through after all the harvesters go through and pick the fruit and grain that the harvesters left behind. So if Isaiah 17 doesn't happen this year it probably won't happen for another year or two, probably 2018.

I tuned into the national news last night for the first time in a long time because I was curious about something and my curiosity proved to be true. There was not one mention of Russia and what was going on in Syria. It was mostly about the Oregon situation and then a story on how bad turf made out of rubber tires could be causing cancer. How convenient to have a shooting to distract us from the serious situation and build up of what is occurring in the middle east right now. I am going to dust off my tin foil hat now and put it on. Classic misdirection by mainstream media. Look what is going on in this hand while ignoring what is in the other.
What is worse is since he was killing Christians it is just a afterthought. If he was killing Muslims the media would be on the story for weeks. Rise up Christians time is short.
Don't bother with the tinfoil hat. Research has shown that for most people the foil would be resonant at the microwave frequency most likely to be used by satellites to monitor your thoughts.

Correct. I think tomorrow is just the opening Mass, etc. Working groups begin Monday if I am not mistaken.
I recall reading that one of the reasons so many priests felt able to engage in homosexual behavior with their teenaged victims is that they believed that by not having sex with a female, they were still keeping their vows of celibacy. I think this priest falls into that category.
"Wipe Out Mankind?" No freaking way. Ireland and the British Isles may be swamped, but I doubt highly that such a wave would reach the inlands of North and South America or the Swiss Alps. Collapse of our civilization, sure, but not an extinction-level-event.
