I think since our goal should be to evangelize, to turn our backs to people when they know we are Christians would be to push them even farther away from Jesus and the Church. We are meant to draw them in closer, not push them farther away. Mother Theresa reached out to all people, many of them Hindus who worshipped many gods, some of them we would consider like demons. She did that not because she thought Hinduism was fine, but to draw them to Jesus. No, she would not make a cake for a same sex wedding and neither should we, but we do have to treat people with kindness in general, or they will be pushed even farther away from conversion.

That's my quandry. Part of me wants to witness to them and do business anyway and show them I love them, even if I disagree with them.

the other part wants to witness for Truth and show my kids and others that we don't hate them, but we don't go into business or partnership with those living sinfully like that.

It is pretty close to impossible not to do business with people living in unrepentant moral sin......if it is not a gay relationship, there are so many people cohabitating or divorced and remarried without an annulment. I would say if you are not participating in some way in their "wedding" ceremony, it is ok to do business with them. Like the bakeries that won't make a wedding cake for gay marriages, but will make them cupcakes for a birthday party.

I agree with the caveat that you don't accept the gift from them.

I haven't read the entire thread, so I'm not sure what kind of advice you've received, but here are my suggestions.

With respect to your first issue, I only see it as a problem if you KNOW that the company that you are dealing with is donating money to charities that support issues that we are opposed to as Catholics. I personally feel obliged to avoid a well known and liked coffee shop chain here in the US after finding out which charities they support.

On the second issue, it's a tough call. I don't see it as being morally objectionable to accept a gift from them, however having to maintain an ongoing relationship could be tricky, especially as it relates to your children. If you accept the gift, then make all future interactions with them "teachable moments" where you show love and respect, but pray for them and their conversion (as you said). This situation would also provide ample opportunity to discuss our morals and beliefs as Catholics.

These are tough issues. We can't avoid all people in sinful situations because we are all sinners to varying degrees. It does make it more challenging though when someone makes their sins public knowledge. The only other observation that I will make is that occasionally those who are willing to overlook "big" sins in their own lives, may also compromise on smaller ones and may be more accepting of sin in general. When given an option, I personally try to support Christian companies based more on my perception of their personal integrity and business ethics. And that decision is based more on my desire for fair and honest business, than someone's current spiritual state.

FatimaPilgrim these are excellent but tough questions that will sadly become more and more common as our country and the world quickly descends into a dark period. I by no means would say I have the final word on this, but some immediate thoughts spring to mind. First off you have a duty to support your family, so just because someone is gay doesn't mean you necessarily need to cut all ties to them.

That being said, if the company is widely supporting the satanic agenda by using lesbians in their advertising it might be wise to switch to a different company. It is a small way to show where your allegiance lies. If possible tell someone why you are leaving.

Also, I wouldn't accept any gift that would make you beholden to anyone. I definitely wouldn't invite them to your retreat especially not if it would be an overnight stay. Remember children learn most of what they pick up from observing.

Through prayer I have learned that when we ask questions like this to ourselves we already know what the answer is. At our judgement one of the things we will all be judged by is our conscience. I think this is your guardian angel tapping you on your shoulder and asking you to take notice.

It seems to me you will always be bothered by these two issues if you take the easy route, the way of the world. God placed you here specifically in history. We all must choose to pick up our cross and follow him or go the easy route of the way of man.

Yes, I agree, she also looks angelic, like she belongs to God. I have often wondered if that's the spiritual reason that people with handicaps are such targets of hatred and marginalization, because they belong to God. And I also wonder about correlations between genetics and evil or genetics and innocence. I know many people with handicaps who are victims of injustice, marginelisation, etc, but whose makeup make it impossible for them to fall into evil. For example, people with Angelman Syndrome who have happy dispositions or people with autism who don't know how to lie, don't understand hypocrisy. OK, it's obviously not true across the board for everyone, but I see it often enough to believe that many people with genetic anomalies are somehow sheltered from evil.

Most definitely! There was a sad story of a Mother who set herself and her handicapped child on fire; which tragically resulted in their untimely demise... not a nice way to go needless to say. They were hounded by devils in disguise; a gang that tormented them.. true cruelty knows no bonds.

I often wonder about using science as an excuse; cop-out. There are many psychopaths, sociopaths, paedophiles - to name but a few undesirable anti-God anti-social emotions, that know only too well what they are pursuing, doing is immoral. Many get a kick out of just that. They can devise intellectually; go to some lengths to cover up their tracks.

    God bless!

    Great advice!
I would add haveing worked for Verizon for 12years and quit/resigned. With our current environment it maybe hard to find a company not capitalizing on this new demonic market.
Watching EWTN nightly news last year, a similar question came up over cancelling Verizon service. After a further look around ,all carriers were doing the same( I believe it was easy links to porno or something) so they kept the service. They need communication service and no other place to go, im afraid banking will be the same....sighhh

Jesus miracle church in Israel damaged 'by arson'

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-middle-east-33183150

Arsonists are believed to have started a fire which has damaged a Roman Catholic church on the Sea of Galilee in northern Israel, police say.

The church at Tabgha is built where Christians believe Jesus performed the miracle of the loaves and fishes, also known as the Feeding of the 5,000.

Hebrew graffiti found on a wall is thought to indicate the attack may have been the work of Jewish extremists.

Police detained 16 teenagers for questioning but later released them.

Spokeswoman Luba Samri told the AFP news agency that they were freed "with no conditions attached, after being interviewed and giving statements".

    'Despicable act'
The BBC's Kevin Connolly in Jerusalem says Tabgha is a sacred site to the many thousands of Christian pilgrims who visit the Holy Land every year.

The arson attack on the Church of the Multiplication of the Loaves and Fishes caused extensive damage to a book shop and other buildings at the complex but did not destroy the 5th Century mosaic floors which are its key archaeological feature.

Two people who had been staying at the complex were also taken to hospital suffering from smoke inhalation.

A verse from a Hebrew prayer denouncing the worship of "idols" was found spray-painted in red on a wall of the church.

Our correspondents say the graffiti will suggest to many that the attack is part of a sporadic campaign by a small group of right-wing Jewish extremists against non-Jewish targets in Israel, but police said it was too early to tell.

"The torching of the church is a cowardly and despicable act which contradicts Israel's basic values," Internal Security Minister Gilad Erdan said in a statement.

The Israeli pressure group, Rabbis for Human Rights, says there have been 43 hate crime attacks on churches, mosques and monasteries in Israel and the occupied West Bank since 2009, Reuters news agency reports.

Did not Jesus dine with the sinners? If we write off everyone but the faithful what is evangelization about. We should not participate in sinful behavior, but surely we can participate with sinners.
