Yes, AED's dream is insightful. Pope Francis' health is precarious and as Holy Father he is in much need of our heartfelt prayers. The gift of this prolonged illness is that God has given him the wonderful opportunity to prepare for a holy death. May it be so, and we must accompany him with our heartfelt prayers.:notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy:

I get the sense that this also reflects what is about to happen to the Catholic church. I would even go so far as to say that this is reflected to a degree in our individual lives currently, as everyone seems to be enduring heavy crosses.

I don’t know how many noticed this detail of the photo from behind the Vatican released recently of him visiting the hospital chapel:
    IMG_4892.jpeg

His hand was grossly edematous. He is so full of fluid the skin on his ankles and feet could be breaking down too, due to the enormous amount of fluid under the skin. That’s what happens with venous stasis dermatitis / ulcers on the lower extremities.

In such cases elevating the legs helps, but the fluid can then overwhelm the heart and lungs, especially if compression stockings are used in a patient with congestive heart failure. They give lasix (a diuretic) to help the kidneys eliminate the excess water fluid, but he was also having some kidney failure due to the antibiotics they were using for his pneumonia so the Lasix may not have been as effective.

The corollaries to the spiritual condition of a soul so filled with bad “humour” are obvious.

Your dream may have been more accurate than you realize.

Not even during John Paul II's time did we face such a major deadlock in the full exercise of a pontificate ? Cardinal Fernández said that the Pope will have to relearn how to speak after undergoing high-flow oxygen therapy.

Had a bit of a garbled dream this morning. I was in Putins lair and did something against him.
Later I was back in the same place and I was discovered and faced extermination.
I started praying the Apostles Cread in the dream. And felt like nothing they could do could harm me.

Fascinating dream. Kind of reminds me of the last two episodes of House of David. David had so much trust, faith, hope and love in the Lord. When he was called to face Goliath people kept asking him, "are you scarred?" He would respond, "I am terrified" and yet he still put his full trust in God. We can still be terrified and courageous in face of the trials in this world. What matters most when called is do you trust even though you may still face great fear in the face of the enemy.

I woke up several times the night before last with several nightmares in a row. There is only one that I really recall. Many , many years ago I new someone who I considered to be a close friend. He was totally Godless as indeed so was I at the time. Anyway he betrayed me by reporting me to a group of people who could have killed me. I discovered this because one of them came to warn me. I was shocked and asked why he had done this? He replied that he thought my supposed friend was jealous of me. I went to my friend and challenged him about what he had done. At first he tried to deny it but then fell silent.

He later died of cancer, bitter and lone. I have a feeling that the dream was him visiting me from Purgatory and asking for prayers. Whose prayers would be more powerful than the person he betrayed?

I think that is another good reason to pay attention to dreams. The curtain from the other side raises a little.

Very, very touching things in this thread. I've never encountered a Catholic community online like this . . . I very much agree with paying attention to dreams and other signs of grace which can be very subtle. I wish more Catholics could speak openly like this.

Very striking . . . hard to capture what I feel . . . but I am moved. Pious people who care about the Church, who love the Church, it will occupy their dreams. It does mine at times, but I have never thought of speaking like this . . .

I had a lovely dream of St Joseph rising towards Heaven. I was trying to wake up as I thought I'm dreaming but then I found myself saying some prayer to him that I have never heard. I can't remember it now but St Joseph has been coming to my mind a lot lately. I started St Joseph's Cloak yesterday.

I notice with St Joseph how quickly he answers prayers. How very, very powerful he is indeed before God. I suppose that should not surprise us because he was the father of Jesus, how could Jesus refuse him anything?

My daughter started praying the rosary this Lent with her children for the recovery of my husband's nephew. David, the nephew, who has been in a coma since December 13th has started moving his hands and head . She had a dream last night that she was sitting beside him. He turned towards her and opened his eyes and said her name. Then he disappeared. I'm taking this as a really good sign that the Lord is resurrecting him.

I think he was definitely asking for prayers. I think it was a great grace that was granted to you and him and probably because you pray.

It reminds me of a dream I had of my mother recently. Well she was something else and let's just say I never thought that she went straight to heaven and of course I always remembered her in my prayers. She was coming out of complete darkness and was plucking big white flowers and I saw her take a big white lily and then the dream ended. I suppose it means she's coming out of darkness but still needs some prayers?
