Over the past few nights I have had vivid dreams after a spell of not dreaming or remembering my dreams for a while..

First dream I was standing on a sea shore looking at Malta I think the shore line I was on was Italy As I could see Malta quite clearly although i'm not sure if you can see Malta from Tunisia or Libya,, On the shore line I was standing a great number of Missiles were fired above my head towards Malta.

My Next dream.. Jesus was walking and talking to me along a path he opened a door for me and inside was a courtyard with loads of people all doing their own thing, one was gardening another was making something, Jesus looked at me and said in Heaven its like doing you most favourite enjoyable thing you have ever done on earth but for eternity, He then looked at me and said be warned there will be a total shortage of wholegrains.

Today I'm awaiting receipt of this book (Catechism of Four Mystical Saints) https://tinyurl.com/2p9yn9fm in the mail (Amazon Prime).

And what shows up in the Top Picks For You picture bar below: Fairies. Faery Folk. Wild Magic. The Book of Faerie Spells. Encyclopedia of Spirits. Most of my purchases are CATHOLIC items and NOT those, so... (n)

Which brings to mind: Around October I'd come across a book of fairy tales/lore from an ancestral source which I'd tucked away years ago. It went unread for a long time. While decluttering the house, I decided to read some of it. It's only tales/lore, right?

I stopped reading and threw the book out after a dream of our residing in a large house with a wide paved driveway (which we absolutely cannot afford). I'm standing at the opening of a wide corridor. Its left side is FILLED with large windows. I'm shocked to suddenly see the wide driveway filled with children, 20 or more. I like kids, but this is too many at once, and where did they all come from?? o_O They suddenly start rushing at the windows and a set of French double doors, wanting to get in. I can't let that happen! I call to husband to hurry and help me pull down curtains (black) above each window. We do that. Then suddenly the curtains are UP and those children are rushing at the windows / doors again.

I woke up speaking aloud a prayer of exorcism. :coffee:

So I knew "those children" in fact represented "The Little People"... and out went the book! :coffee:

Which brings to mind that we can't be too careful. Thank God you were warned.

Interesting that traditionally, the LEFT side of anything is associated with evil and/or misfortune. Traditionally, your guardian angel sits at your right shoulder while your personal demon is on your left shoulder. It's why if you spill some salt, you're to fling some over your left shoulder -- to temporarily blind your personal demon.

Sounds like an attack to me. Clearly your Guardian Angel inspired your prayer of exorcism. These days we have to be so careful of any and all portals that might let evil in. Reading and tv/movies you tube etc. I think that things that might not have been dangerous years ago when the world had more grace and less sin are now very dangerous to the unwary.

I think that is a VERY valid point.

And thanks to everyone who commented. Muzhik, yes "the left." Didn't occur to me while typing it out, but yes -- your reminder.

Is it superstition to throw salt over your left shoulder if you spill salt?

Kind of. But maybe it began as a kind of blessing of protection using blessed salt??? I have no idea.(n)

It's superstition if you think the action in and of itself has power. It's a superstition to knock on wood. You do that to call on the tree spirits to protect you and give you luck.

Any pious act can devolve into superstition if you think that by doing the act itself, that you gain power. Crossing yourself as protection before doing something evil is superstitious I think this bit with the salt likewise has its origin as a pious act, and as long as you understand you're trying to blind your personal demon then I don't think any have will come from it. If you toss the salt "to bring you luck", THEN it's a superstitious act.

A dream this morning: I'm in my childhood (Protestant) church (in the Upper Midwest). Also present is a group of new members, all of whom are male immigrants from Pakistan. All in their 30s to 40s. They are Christians of course. All are dressed (unsure if true to custom) in long robes of red and green, with golden accents. One, a tall slender man maybe 45, approaches me. We exchange a greeting and shake hands. He walks away. I ask Beverly (now in her 80s) how long the Pakistani Christians have been attending. Can't recall her answer. As the service progresses, I notice these men are not seated in pews but in wide bench-like seats with a desk-like surface before them. Each is now lighting tall sticks of incense (this Protestant denom never uses incense). It's all very warm, inviting, peaceful.

Next dream is of our two cats being in my home office (Sandy is outdoors; never inside). I'm tending to them when suddenly there's a full-grown LION beside me. It's gentle for now, and seems to think it's "just one of the cats." But I'm unnerved, go out and ask husband Why is there a lion in our house?? He said it's gentle ... I said it could go from butting your arm with its nose to chomping your arm in a nanosecond. :X3: I want the lion OUT!

I've seen Jesus represented in paintings as a lion. I think I would make friends with a gentle lion ...?

Last week I had a dream, which I would like to share. I don't know what to make of it.

In the dream, I was in a high place, like in a very tall building, then it was as if a curtain was drawn open and I could see outside. I looked to my left, as far as my eyes could see; it was a complete destruction had taken place, as if a storm and fire had passed through the land.

I followed with my eyes and shifted my gaze towards the right, far a head, I noticed the landscape change from destruction to some greenery. I turned to look further to my right, the landscape gradient changed rising towards a hill.

Standing on the lower brow of the hill, there was a figure, for a moment I though it was a statue spared the destruction but I could see the entire hill was all green, no damage.

I saw clearly, It was a man, a very strong person wearing a very white kilt, (which is similar to the kilt depiction in old Egyptian monuments).

The man was looking a head, towards the direction I had just taken my gaze from, with his head\eyes turning only slightly from left to right. He had the body of a man and the head of a bird. Then it’s like the curtain was drawn to close.

    I woke up, I thought…. pre-historic Egypt.

Two weeks ago, I dreamed of a childhood church (Protestant) friend whom I've not seen since 1986 (in our early 20s then).

Eldon is long married, father of three, and now grandfather of two.

In the dream, Eldon committed suicide. I knew wife and family would be terribly distraught, but as I'm a virtual stranger to them, I decided to wait to give my condolences. Next I'm scooping up saffron-colored sand from a large bin of it, with both hands. I sift the saffron-colored sand through my fingers. Next I'm stashing Eldon's shoes with my own, all carefully bundled into a large brown paper bag.
