I started doing the Hours of the Passion almost two years ago. I joined the living clock and was assigned the third Hr. which was Sept 8. There is the beginning prayer were you join your will to Jesus and also ask pardon for those hours that can't be done because of personal duties. So you still do the hr at a more convenient time. I will send the link where I started. It is a great journey and you will get to know Jesus like you have never known Him before. Check out the living clocks to get an assigned hr. and you pray that hr. for a week and then the next week you start the next hr. The priest will answer any of your questions.:)

    Kathy,

You certainly have perseverance! I once told you that my limited time didn't allow me to delve into something new (i.e. Luisa Piccarreta). But I wanted to spend more time this Lent meditating on the Passion. This site will be perfect! You have worn me out!

...Thy kingdom come, that will be done, on earth as it is in heaven!

:)I am still a baby at all this, but loving it all , its whole new world. I will keep reading up on it all during my retreats every month during the year

I am reluctant to comment too much about something I have studied (and practised so little) but I suspect it is one of the greatest spiritual , 'finds' of my entire life.

Delighted. Like a a big wonderful uinexpected Christmas present , thank God.

I'm in the same boat with you. I can't get enough of this!

It reminds me of St. Therese's elevator - it's the simplest way, and Jesus does everything in us, only requiring our Fiat. It is truly no longer I who live, but He who lives in me!!!

The Hours are so beneficial to your own soul and the whole world I recommend them to anyone who wants to unite with God. All the Saints agree that meditating on Jesus' Passion is the best way to advance in holiness.

does anyone have concerns about what ewtn has posted on her writings? it seems her passion of Christ and writings on mary living the divine will are OK to read but not the others? I'm not sure what everyone is reading here. please clarify. it seems ewtn is basing its conclusion on where it stands with the church. www.ewtn.com/

  13. Thank you for posting this video.
I've recently started doing the Hours of the Passion and they are life changing. It is not the same to meditate and imagine what Jesus could be going through than to hear from His lips what He was living, and how crazy in love for souls -for mine and for yours- He was and is.

It would be great if we could do the Hours of the Passion among the members of the forum, don't you think?
Maybe Sunburst who has been doing them could guide us to get started ...
    What do you think?

  15. I haven't read what EWTN has on Luisa Picarreta (your link doesn't take me to anything on Luisa and don't know how to find her out there) but I've heard Fr. Ianuzzi, who is an authority on her writings, -he made his doctoral thesis on the writings of Luisa and now two theologians of the Vatican have already given positive decision about all Luisa's works-

What remains to be accomplished is to have an AUTHORIZED EDITION -and authorize translations- of her writings. Luisa's writings are not allowed to be published until that approved edition comes out. (we have only the on-line version of his works, which are not an official but a "devotional" version so to speak).

This is due to the fact that apparently there were errors in some of the copies that were running around but there are not such errors in the originals.
It is expected to have soon all the writings published with all the permissions from Rome.

I've read several of the books of Fr. Iannuzzi on Luisa and listend to his videos -which I highly reccommend, and it is among those that I got what I'm saying here.

    Luisa Piccarreta
    From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

    • The Servant of God Luisa Piccarreta, also known as "Little Daughter of the Divine Will," is under consideration for possible canonization as a saint of the Catholic Church. She was a mystic and author notable for having allegedly "survived on nothing but Communion wafers for sixty-five years".[1] For some time, her confessor was St. Annibale Maria di Francia. Her spirituality centered on union with the Will of God.[2][3] She was born in Corato, Bari, Italy in 1865.[4] She died at the age of 82 in 1947, and the Archbishop of Trani opened her Cause for Beatification in 1994.[5] By the end of 2005, the process of inquiry and documentation within the Diocese of Trani-Barletta-Bisceglie-Nazareth was complete. Her cause was then passed on to the Congregation for the Causes of Saints of the Vatican, which opened its examination March 7, 2006. Piccarreta was thereby enrolled as a "Servant of God". The Congregation for the Causes of Saints appointed a Roman lawyer, Silvia Monica Correale, as the postulator of Piccarreta's Cause for Canonization.

The Archbishop of Trani has reiterated, in a letter dated November 2012, his approval of the existence of groups formed to study Luisa's writings. He also reaffirmed his moratorium on the current publication for public use, both in print and online, of most of the writings of Piccarreta,[6][7][8] presenting it as his desire to present in the future, a "typical and critical edition of her writings", (for which the Archdiocese of Trani owns all of the publishing rights). In the same letter, The Archbishop criticises “poor or exaggerated explanations of her writings”, but affirms that both he and the Church have found that her writings themselves are free of doctrinal error.[9]

    Biography[edit]
Piccarreta was born in Corato in the Province of Bari, Italy on April 23, 1865 and died there March 4, 1947.

At the age of 17, Piccarreta is believed to have experienced a "mystical union" with Jesus akin to the religious ecstasy experienced by Saint Teresa of Ávila. Following this experience, she remained bedridden for the remainder of her life, claiming this was her fiat from Jesus. For the next 64 years until her death, Luisa stayed in bed, not eating enough to sustain her life. She received the eucharist during the Daily Mass said by a priest in her room. This special blessing was given first by Pope Leo XIII and then subsequently by Pope Saint Pius X. Piccarreta's followers also believe that she was nourished directly by the Divine Will, a reference to the Bread of Life promised by Jesus.

Luisa is believed to have suffered the pains of Jesus's passion, in reparation for the sins of the world, and to call down God's mercy upon the earth. She is believed to have received instruction about the Divine Will and a special degree of grace known as "living in the Divine Will," directly from Jesus.

During this time, Piccarreta produced 36 volumes of writing, believed by her followers to have been dictated by Jesus, and collected into a work entitled The Book of Heaven.[10]

The more people doing the Hours the better

Let's talk about the reasons for doing the Hours,..
To those who do the Hours of the Passion, Jesus will grant His same merits, as if He were in the act of suffering His Passion.

    Vol. 11, April 10, 1913
And I: «Tell me, my Good, what will You give as recompense to those who will do the Hours of the Passion the way You taught them to me?»

And He: «My daughter, I will look at these Hours, not as yours, but as done by Me. I will give you my same merits, as if I were in the act of suffering my Passion; and the same effects, according to the dispositions of the souls. This, while they are on earth - and I could not give them a greater reward. Then, in Heaven, I will place these souls in front of Me, darting through them with darts of love and of contentments for as many times as they did the Hours of my Passion; and they will dart through Me. What a sweet enchantment this will be for all the Blessed!»

If they do them together with Jesus and with His own Will, Jesus will grant them a soul for each word they recite, because the greater or lesser effectiveness of these Hours of the Passion is in the greater or lesser union that they have with Jesus.

    Vol. 11, October 1914
«My daughter, as recompense for having written the Hours of my Passion, for each word you have written I will give you a kiss - a soul.»

And I: « My love, this is for me; and what will You give to those who will do them?»

And Jesus: «If they do them together with Me and with my own Will, I will also give them a soul for each word they will recite, because the greater or lesser effectiveness of these Hours of my Passionis in the greater or lesser union that they have with Me. By doing them with my Will, the creature hides within my Volition, and since it is my Volition that acts, I can produce all the goods I want, even through one word alone; and this, for each time you will do them.»
