Goodness. I love you have a sense from God as to a specific meaning for all this. I would say an understanding of meaning brings the greatest possible relief. Child birth is supposed to be the worst possible pain. But mothers to be know the meaning of it all. New Life, thus the pain becomes bearable. They can see the meaning, the purpose, the end point.
I am so sorry to hear of this awful setback. Such suffering, Brian. Praying for you right now. I can’t believe the Fatima name!!!!! Wow.
Done with HIDA scan, awaiting results. They gave me enough dilaudid to kill a mule so I could lay still on my back for 1 1/2 hours. It was like an IV sedative thankfully.
I'm going to anoint myself in proxy for you with St. Raphael's oil again in front on an online Eucharistic Adoration site and pray the prescribed prayers{they said to do this in the instructions}
Sounds like no infection but the bile duct is definitely leaking. So I’ll have a drain placed in my abdomen via guided radiology, then an ECRP (endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography) tiny tube placed orally or nasally and threaded into the bile duct to seal it shut and shunt/drain it into my stomach. As it scars down inside the bile duct it stops any bile duct leakage supposedly. I know ECRP shunts can cause pancreatitis too, but I’ll have to cross that bridge when I get to it.
At least you are not dealing with infection, but you've been through so much already you didn't need this. Continued prayers for this procedure to go well.
I just got a nice note from my oldest son, seminarian frater Silvan at St. Michael’s Norbertine Abbey in Silverado CA: Dear Dad, I got the update of your situation via Fr. Joseph. I am really sorry that you are suffering through all those awful complications of the surgery. I am praying for you, and I have asked all my brothers to pray as well. That is amazing that your nurse was named Fatima. Also, today is the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross, and you had your original surgery on Friday, the day of the Passion. This is all in Christ's wounded hands, Dad, and in the wound in His side, where you too have had all this pain. Jesus must have some intense grace he wishes to share with you through this suffering. And to boot, tomorrow is Our Lady of Sorrows. It is all in her heart too. I love you, Dad. Please keep me posted. your son, fr. Silvan
