One the early videos I bought over thirty years ago in Veritas when I was starting to learn more about things I'd heard of when growing up but didn't know the background to...like the Miraculous Medal, Padre Pio and various Marian Apparitions.
This wonderful story and the quiet and straightforward way it's told in this video always stayed with me.
Enjoyed seeing it again when it came up on YouTube.

Catherine Labouré – Visionary of the Miraculous Medal – St. Bernard Books

On the evening of July 18, 1830, an extraordinary event occurred in the life of a young novice. Waking shortly before midnight at the insistent summons of an angel, Catherine Labouré hastened to make an appointment requested of her by the Virgin Mary. Over the next several months, this privileged young woman would understand that she was to be the carrier of a message greater than herself, a message that must remain a secret between her and heaven…

René Laurentin, author of the best-selling Bernadette Speaks, recounts the life of Catherine Labouré in this meticulously researched biography. Catherine Labouré: Visionary of the Miraculous Medal presents the fascinating and inspiring story of the French Sister of Charity who became the focus of much popular religious devotion, extending to our own time.

St. Catherine Labouré’s story of humility, courage, and holiness is unforgettable. Her quiet life of service is a powerful witness of how God can enter our lives and dwell intimately within our hearts. Sixteen pages of black-and-white photos are included.

I love the headdress. Can you imagine how much of a penance that would be just wearing that? I would be bumping into doorways continually! The patience!!

The above is one of my favorite miraculous medal stories.

The nuns wore that headdress in the 1950’s here at Providence Hospital in Washington, DC. !!!

I remember nuns wearing this as a child. I think the locals used to call them. 'Angel's Wings'.:):)
