can someone explain to me how usa election system works? I thought people just went and voted, and the one with most votes wins... but when trump won i saw many news sites saying "he won because of electoral college". Im confused:confused:. does each state have an allocated score, and the points are collected from the final score of each state?

We are a Republic, not a democracy. Our electoral college are delegates representing the voters of each state.

If that were only true. Unfortunately, he and his wife nervous about the gay vote sent a baby present to a married gay couple recently. De Santis’ donors are from the Bush clan. These types are always great Governors, but lousy Presidents. I don’t trust him. I’m sorry to have to tell you this. I was also at one time quite enthused with him. I don’t think we have anyone in the Republican Party that can beat the Democrat machine. Once these people are in, it’s very difficult to vote them out.

Gov Ron De Santis on Twitter: "Florida’s job growth rate was 5 times faster than the nation’s rate. In July, Florida continued to set the standard for economic success."

Have to disagree, Byron. Imo, Pro-Life Anti-Woke Gov Ron De Santis is one of the Best Men Ever God has raised up to save America. His Record on every issue proves it.

If De Santis didn't have donors, they'd say he's not a feasible candidate. If he does, they'd say something else. De Santis is clearly the strongest Pro-Life Anti-Woke Candidate in the Race, he has the Moral Credentials, the Economic Record, the Service Mentality to do well and win imo.

    God Bless.

I feel the same about DeSantis, follow the money. I had high hopes for him and followed him closely on social media, but I no longer trust him either. He comes on strong, and then back pedals. I am disappointed because he is a pro-life candidate. Right now he is not doing well in the polls. The big debate is tonight on Fox. Trump will be doing an interview with Tucker Carlson at the same time. Should be interesting.

Gov. Ron De Santis's accomplishments speak for themselves. This is not a guy afraid to take on difficult social issues, and deliver wins, and thus he won't bow either to big corporations or big donors imo.

    1. On Life: TALLAHASSEE, Fla. —
Today, Governor Ron DeSantis signed SB 300, the Heartbeat Protection Act, which prohibits abortions once the unborn child has a detectible heartbeat. https://www.flgov.com/2023/04/13/governor-ron-desantis-signs-heartbeat-protection-act/

The law bans classroom instruction on sexual orientation or gender identity for students in kindergarten through third grade." https://abcnews.go.com/Politics/called-dont-gay-rules-expanded-12th-grade-florida/story?id=98691183

    3. On Supreme Court Judges: "Well, actually, I would say we'll do better than that," DeSantis said. "I mean, I respect the three appointees he did, but none of those three are at the same level of Justices Thomas and Justice Alito. I think they are the gold standard, and so my justices will be along the lines of a Sam Alito and a Clarence Thomas.

He added, "And in Florida, I inherited a very liberal state supreme court, maybe the most liberal in the country, very activist. But I was able to replace three of the four liberals my first month in office with conservative justices. I've since been able to make a number of appointments since then. So we now have the most conservative state supreme court in the country. And so I think we have a really good track record on doing that."

I live in Florida, so I know he’s done an excellent job. But so did George W. Bush Jr, when he was Governor of Texas. I would prefer De Santis stay as our Governor. Trump will most likely get nominated. His polls keep getting higher. I’m hoping for a miracle. I keep visualizing Trump holding Our Lady of Fatima statue in the White House. I’m praying to her for a miraculous comeback.

    Ok, Byron.

Abby Johnson Tweeted: "DeSantis has removed TWO Soros funded DA’s in Florida. He didn’t run his mouth, he took action. He didn’t complain about it, he fired them. He’s proven that he’s willing to do the things he says he’s going to do." https://twitter.com/AbbyJohnson/status/1694528017941340632

De Santis is a Crusading Champion, that's all I'm going to say. America will be blessed if he's the next US President.

He ran Record Budget Surpluses while Trump raised Debt by 8 Trillion Dollars. Why anyone would choose Trump over De Santis is beyond me,

    God Bless.

Agreed, AED. On Debate: From: https://www.foxnews.com/politics/go...best-performance-in-first-primary-debate-poll

""A poll taken after the first GOP presidential primary debate on Wednesday showed that a plurality of Republican voters felt that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis won the night. ... "Last night, Ron DeSantis was the clear winner and proved that he is ready to beat Joe Biden and serve as America’s 47th president," Andrew Romeo, communications director for the DeSantis campaign, told Fox News Digital. "The debate highlighted that DeSantis is the only candidate with the vision to reverse our nation’s decline and revive the American Dream."

Wow! Gov. Ron De Santis now actually LEADS Trump in Vote Consideration, i.e. Share of Republican Primary Voters considering voting for each Candidate now after the Debate versus before it happened.

    From: https://twitter.com/GiancarloSopo/status/1694802983085568003

"Ron DeSantis won the debate. Among Republican primary voters who watched the debate:
    #1. DeSantis was rated #1
#2 DeSantis now leads Trump by 6 pts in vote consideration
#3 DeSantis has the highest favorables among all candidates

Maybe it's too early to talk about it, but is this upcoming election triggering some supposedly prophetic manifestations about the winner, as there were in relation to Trump's victory in 2016?

  14. DeSantis strikes me as someone who wouldn't hesitate to nuke a country and I'm afraid Biden is going to die right before the election and he'll win running against Harris. That'd be terrible. I'd honestly rather have Biden "in office".

I still favor DeSantis, but there was a moment in the debate in which I was disappointed in him. When asked if the candidates would support Trump if he won the Republican nomination, most raised their hand in agreement, including Ron DeSantis. However, before he did so, he showed timidity by looking around first to see how the others responded before choosing to raise his ownhand. What I have seen in DeSantis is a type of hesitation when he is put in a position of going off script. In other words, when he is free to express his memorized nuances, he sounds confident and bold, but when put in a position when he is unprepared and has to ad lib, DeSantis falters. At this point, it doesn't threaten my support, but...it irks me. I'm still trying to understand what it is that bothers me about that.

Is he a man who will stand firm when under pressure or when out of his element?

So you'd rather a Pro-Abort Liberal "Catholic" like Biden than an Actual, Pro-Life Catholic like Hearbeat-Bill-Signing Governor Ron De Santis be in the White House?

De Santis is a Military Man and won't start any unnecessary War. The War he'll help win once and for all is the Culture War of the last 60+ years against the Woke Left.

New Fox News Iowa Poll Post Debate - De Santis now in Statistical Dead Heat with Trump in one-on-one contest:

This is an Amazing Bump from One Single Debate Performance:

"The Public Opinion Strategies poll also found DeSantis closing the gap against Trump in a head-to-head matchup, with DeSantis having 40% support to Trump's 43% post-debate.

Pre-debate, DeSantis largely trailed with 34% compared to Trump's 51%."

    https://www.foxnews.com/politics/io...osing-gap-trump-after-first-republican-debate

Trump was better than Clinton, sure, but that's a low bar. Clinton/Obama/Biden are like -100%. De Santis is like +100% when it comes to a Conservative Record and a Christian Life. De Santis-Trump-Clinton is like 100-0-neg 100. Yes, Trump>Clinton, but De Santis>Trump.

    More signs of Momentum Post-Debate:

"DeSantis reports raising more than $1 million as Republicans hope for post-debate boosts

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis says he got a $1 million cash bump after Wednesday night’s presidential debate.

That amount came in over the first 24 hours after DeSantis and seven other contenders met onstage in Milwaukee, according to his campaign.

In a statement to The Associated Press, campaign manager James Uthmeier said that DeSantis “showed Wednesday night that he is a proven leader who will deliver results as president, and we are thrilled with the flood of support we have received since his debate victory.”
