I'm looking at Medieval depictions of angels (doing lots of reading of High Middle Ages especially; van Eyck was at Later Middle Ages). Surprised to see rainbow colors utilized. Hans Memling also included a rainbow or two in his paintings (not specific to angels). Lovely.
