I often recall when I was very young introducing both my mother and father to Padre Pio , while he was still alive to St Padre Pio. There was a BBC documentary on about it at the time. Padre Pio of course for most of his life had suffered under the very severest sanctions at the very highest levels of the Vatican itself.
But still the humble Catholic layfolk came to see him in their hundreds of thousands. still Padre Pio worked miracles, converted thousands despite the disapproval of the Vatican.
Now were they wrong to come to him? To be converted , to be healed? I do not think so.
When Fatima happened the Cardinal Archbishop of Lisbon publicallty condemned events there. Sti l the people came in their millions. Were they wrong to do so? When events at Lourdes happened the Parish Priest of Lourdes was very oppossed; still the people came.
The Church has not approved Verne, neither has she condemned him.
What is the difference, Dolours to Padre Pio , or Lourdes or Fatima back then to Verne now?
I believed in Padre Pio when the Vatican opposed him even though I was just a child and told my parents so; was I wrong to do so?
Verne is under no condemnation by the Church. We are perfectly free to believe in him or not as I was free to believe in Padre Pio back then.
If you were to wait on Church approval for many things you would have a very, very, long wait; centuries even.
As Fr Rene Laurentin said if Lourdes were to happen today the Church would never give formal approval. Never.
The books were free and when my friend died no other books have been published. Since 2008 I pay an annual fee to continue this website. . I have never made any profit off of this book and never will. Finally, the way these books have been passed out is the way God wanted it. So I see no point in discussing the merits of how this book came to be. Thanks for your thoughts and may God bless you
Padre Pio was a priest in good standing. I don't think that you can compare him to any layperson.
The Lourdes and Fatima seers didn't publish any books without seeking Church approval.
Verne hasn't submitted his book for Church approval. I have nothing against Verne. I can't because I don't know him. I'm merely saying that it seems strange to me that someone receiving messages from God the Father for relaying to the entire world hasn't run the messages by someone in the Church with authority to say whether or not the messages contain doctrinal error.
I'm sorry, Verne, if my questions and comments cause you offence. It's a very awkward situation to be in both for you and for me. Awkward for you because my questions and comments probably come across as accusatory. Awkward for me because I have these questions and see something odd in a Catholic bypassing Church authority and I'm not known for my tact.
That you aren't profiting financially from what you believe to be messages from Heaven is to your credit.
The Imprimatur on books no longer realistically exists, Dolours, Verne is right.
All true mystical phenomena have always come under attack, most of all from within the Church itself.
There is always a pasasge from the Sensum Fidelium, the sense of the Faithful to formal approval.
I believed in Padre Pio long before the Church approved. I believe in Verne too.
DO not place the Holy Spirit in a box.
I repeat .
If Lourdes occurred today , the Church would never formally accept it. They are not able for it. A Vatican who accepts that people who are living in an adulterous relationship can receive the Body and Blood of Christ has true Discernment on these or any other matters is one that we can take seriously?
I never believed them even when they ruled negatively on Padre Pio. They have not even ruled on Verne yet.
But I risk becoming argumentative.
Arguing for argument's sake.
I have made my case; I will leave it at that.. byeeeee
No offense, we have to do due diligence about any alleged phenomena these days. Put yourself in my shoes, I was not raised Catholic but was a witch. I write these messages down and a book was made. Quite extraordinary I f I may say!
Oh, Verne, now you've really piqued my curiousity. Get ready for a rake of questions (and I apologise in advance)
Did you convert before you started receiving the messages?
Incidentally, may I suggest that you ask some priest or knowledgeable Catholic to submit your book to your local Bishop for a nihil obstat?
I think the member, Fatima, stated previously that the God Speaks Will You Listen book was given to Father Roux who found no doctrinal errors within it.
I maintain, as well, Padraig, that the Church today is pretty much incapable of
ruling in an Orthodox manner
We have a Pope who couldn’t respond to Cardinals beseeching him for clarification
Yes I did and I asked God question’s and he answered me. God did this for me for an important reason. I rejected God and took an oath to Luna a Goddess. At the time I did not know it was a demon I took an oath to. So at several of the sites
Where I consecrated myself to a demon, after I became a Christian, God spoke directly to me at the same site. He told me he had more power than hell and was speaking to me to let me know the truth about these matters. Also, my gf was
33rd mason and Satan appeared to my gm and mother when I was a kid. As a child I had the privilege of seeing Jesus and my guardian angel once in my bedroom. I was used to occult phenomena, so it does not surprise me God would converse with me. As an aside, I have had psychological testing and may have a form of Asperger’s syndrome, but no other issues. I know it is important to test alleged messengers for psychological fitness.
I think that you may be missing my point. I don't know who Fr. Roux is but unless he's Verne's local Bishop or the Bishop where the book was published, his opinion carries no authority. Do you think that Fr. Roux or one of those theologians who has read the book would help Verne submit it for official approval?
I'm getting the impression that Verne genuinely believes he has been given this messages by God. (That's as opposed to one or two others I have seen promoted here that I wouldn't touch with a barge pole).
Please note that I am absolutely not inferring, suggesting or saying that I suspect Verne of any kind of fraud or deception.
This is true. I have a copy of the letter. But I know I was doing God’s work. His letter was confirmation.
Father Rioux was the head of the North American Marian movement of priests. He has since retired.
I know I did, not believed I did.
Thanks be to God that you escaped the clutches of the evil one.
Sounds like your life story would be worth reading. I know someone with Asperger's and it can make life difficult. I reckon it's far more common than statistics show probably because symptoms are ignored or misunderstood.
I really would love for you to submit your book for your Bishop's seal of approval.
Thanks but my friend is dead and unless God intervenes I will not go against his wishes. Asperger individuals seem to experience phenomena worldwide. We are literal people and God can use that quality. Interesting many approved apparitions occurred with kids.
Do you mean Cletus? May God rest his soul.
Yes, people with Asperger's often excel in fields requiring intense focus and concentration or they can be quite artistic. I believe there's a high incidence of it in Silicon Valley.
What do you mean when you say "unless God intervenes I will not go against his wishes". Do you mean your late friend's wishes or God's wishes?
My late friends wishes. After all, God used him to put this together. If God wants a Bishop to review it, it will be done.
