That is EXACTLY how I feel. I often go to ask God to be merciful to someone, but I stop myself, because I already know that He is merciful towards them. So I praise Him for His wonderful mercy instead. It seems ludicrous to me to ask God to be merciful to someone. He is mercy itself, of this I am sure.
