I have been reflecting on Medjugorje and have had a lot of trouble wrapping my brain around a couple of thoughts. Since the Holy Spirit has directed me to this forum I was hoping someone could help me with some insight. 1. When the time comes to start revealing the secrets to the world, they go through Fr Petar. Logically satan would not want this to happen. Fr Petar would be protected by Our Lady's mantle but would the devil not try to kill the medium used to effectively communicate the message, free internet? I guess I shouldn't worry about God's plans being thwarted but recent headlines about tighter internet/phone/media control have made me question how the secrets will be made known since I have always assumed I would know about the secrets through the internet or the emails I get on the 2nd and 25th of the month. 2. As best as I can tell, not all of the visionaries have received all 10 secrets though one person may still receive daily messages even through the revelation of the secrets. It also may be true that Our Lady has revealed the 10th secret to them and they have not informed the public, making timing closer than we might think. Have the visionaries ever said they would publicly reveal it if they had received all 10 secrets? Anyway, just some rambling thoughts. Any insight would be appreciated.
Daniel, Concerning your questions about the remaining seers receiving their 10th secret, none of the others have been reluctant in sharing when they received their 10th, so I assume it will be similar with the last two. Secondly, Our Lady has established the means by which the secrets will be made public. I'm trusting that the means to make them known throughout the world cannot be thwarted. The missions of Mary at Garabandal and Medjugorje are key components of her ultimate Triumph. There is nothing satan can do to prevent the Eucharistic Reign of Jesus Christ. In that truth is our hope and joy for the times at hand! So good to hear from you! Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!
I am not sure but I think the secrets appear to be miraculously protected by God. Those that are written down on prachment are invisible and we are told the writing will not appear until time for them to be read. Also the visonaries have said they could not speak the secrets even if they wanted, apparently even if they want to retell them out loud for themselves they cann't do so. Their voices catch, they cannot speak. I think its true that the devil really, really wants to know the secrets as they involve the end of his kingdom. I would suspect the visionaries are surrounded by many, many angels to counteract this. We have faith. But the devil KNOWS. James 2:19 You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that--and shudder.
Thanks, guys. I guess I see the clampdown on media and internet freedom as part of the devil's plan to control information even though one may argue that the internet is one of the devil's prodigies. I'm sure God has it figured out how to keep us all in communication even if our high-tech devices fail. I believe the future can be better than the past (we just may not like the ride).
Hi Daniel, I'll chime in here too. There are three visionaries who still receive daily apparitions and who have not received the 10th secret, Marija, Ivan, and Vicka. As soon as they receive the 10th secret, they will stop having daily apparitions, so that is an indicator even if they don't immediately say it publicly, it would not be hidden. BUT, nowhere has Mary stated that all the visionaries must receive all 10 secrets before the secrets or warnings begin. This is an assumption people have made, but there is no basis for it. In fact, Mary has said (according to Vicka) that one visionary will continue to have daily apparitions even after the permanent sign...but Vicka also says that Mary didn't say specifically that it will be one of the three left now, it could be someone else altogether, or it could be one of them. This opens the possibility though, that perhaps at least one visionary will not have received the 10th secret by that time). I also believe that the internet will be attacked by the evil one (we like to call him Stan here, LOL - it started with a typo and has caught on). Fr. Petar will also use radio and TV to transmit the messages, though I don't think the internet will be unusable at the time, but some areas of the world may have trouble receiving them because of local regulations and stricter control in some areas. But the word will still get out, and will spread through private emails and forums like this one, and Twitter and Facebook too. Its not a bad idea to have phone connections with someone in Medjugorje or close to it for that reason. Some of us here have that connection. I do in more than one way, so I expect at least one phone call or text message myself from a certain person I know in Medj. if it happens. Also Joyce Lightner, our tour guide, is always in direct contact with Mirjana's family and hopefully she would also spread the message to everyone on her email list (or start a phone tree) if she heard something. So somehow, some way, we will know right away, I am sure of it, even if for some reason our Mej. internet message links cannot report it to us. But I think they will work because many of those message boards are based here in the US and they will receive phone calls from friends in Medjugorje on that day, then they will spread the word to their subscribers directly. Old Stan will be foiled again, in fact, I bet he will barely put a dent in the information flow! :wink:
Thanks, I was always under the assumption that the visionaries would have all 10 secrets before they would commence. Love the name "Mom's Calling". Of course my father used to threaten to open up a big can of "whoop-ass (arse?)" on us kids if we ignored mom. While our Heavenly Father shows much patience, I think there will be a price to pay for ignoring Our Lady's call.
LOLThanks, Daniel. Yup - it is a mainstay in a good family life to listen and to come when Mom calls. We should take a lesson from this. Mom's calling...and calling, and calling. It is a shame that so few of the Father's children listen to her call. Personally, I would rather not get that can of whoop-ass from our heavenly Father either! So I am trying to listen...and to do what she says. But like all children, it can be a slow process of lifelong learning and listening to your mom...even with our earthly moms, how often as we get older, do we look back and see that mom was right...or that mom really DID know what was best for us. That's why we love our grandmas and their stories...they have the wisdom of years...well Mary has the wisdom of 2000 years! Woah, that's a REALLY Grand-Mom!
