My father always said it was founded as a communist tool to use our own laws against us. Hmmm. Seems like he was right. Weren't they behind a lot of bad court cases to remove any kind of moral restrictions.

  3. Well, I suppose since the Catholic prelates acted to do n0thing about this woman's power over the abortion question and its promotion by herself, she's now agreeing with them on their stance against those citizens obeying the law and respecting the Constitution. What a team!! They both seem to love the current set up that only invites more danger to children, exposing them to crime, abuse, and use by other kinds of violators against their human dignity. Birds of a feather, as they say.

Pelosi Labels 'All People of Faith' Hypocrites Over Immigration Policies

    ......
"The very hypocrisy of the attorney general to quote the Bible, the hypocrisy of all people of faith in our country not to clamor for what the administration is doing to end — whether it's to deprive the Dreamers of the respect they deserve or whether it's taking babies away from their mothers and fathers," Pelosi said Friday.

Sessions put the responsibility on immigrants, who he explained were breaking the law and endangering their children, adding the Apostle Paul made a "clear and wise command in Romans:13 to obey the laws of the government because God has ordained them for the purpose of order."

"We are not sending children to jail with their parents," Sessions said. "Noncitizens who cross our borders unlawfully, between our ports of entry, with children are not an exception. They are the ones who broke the law. They are the ones who endangered their own children on their trek. The United States, on the other hand, goes to extraordinary lengths to protect them while the parents go through a short detention period."

It is such blatant hypocrisy all the way around. We are not obliged to destroy our borders. We are obliged to be humane and help where we can. But Nancy Pelosi has through her rabid stance on abortion some innocent blood on her hands. Bishops should keep a long distance even if they can’t call her on it they should stay far far away from appearing to make common cause with her.

Its sad people still actually listen to Pelosi  .

I heard Sarah Huckabee Sanders "try" to explain to a reporter who was heckling her about Trumps handing of immigration. It was funny really .

The progressive left (and many on the right too) seem to be reacting emotionally and coming unglued to things not going their way.

My stance on immigration is that America's immigration system is a political football being played by both sides to win elections. Given Europe's ",open border" push now, I think America needs to be really careful that our system doesn't turn into what is happening in Europe. The govt has a responsibility to protect its citizens as well as helping immigrants. Pelosi, and others who believe the way they do are not thinking logically and don't really care about immigrants. They care about votes.

'Horrible and disgusting': Democrats then and now
    By Bryce Buchanan | January 25, 2018 | https://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2018/01/horrible_and_disgusting_democrats_then_and_now.html

It is clearly the electoral strategy of the Democratic Party to divide the nation into angry radicalized groups who can be mobilized to the voting booths. Democrats are betting their future on a loyal Hispanic voting bloc, as stated in a recent "Center For American Progress" memo. The memo called illegal aliens a "critical component of the Democratic Party's future electoral success."

As part of this strategy, Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer attacks those deplorable people who think our country should enforce its immigration laws. He told Rachel Maddow on Tuesday that the "fundamental values" of the right are "anti-immigrant," "horrible ... [and] disgusting." "That's who they are," he said.

It is instructive to note how recently Democrat leaders were themselves "horrible" and "disgusting." The quotes below are from Democrat leaders not that long ago. Between the time of these quotes and now, Democrats decided that open borders are the key to their future power. The effect that open borders might have on our country is not a matter of concern to them. It's all about power.

"Our borders have overflowed with illegal immigrants, placing tremendous burdens on our criminal justice system, schools, and social programs. The Immigration and Naturalization Service needs the ability to step up enforcement. Our federal wallet is stretched to the limit by illegal aliens getting welfare, food stamps, medical care, and other benefits, often without paying any taxes. Safeguards like welfare and free medical care are in place to boost Americans in need of short-term assistance. These programs were not meant to entice freeloaders and scam artists from around the world. Even worse, Americans have seen heinous crimes committed by individuals who are here illegally."

Harry Reid, 1993. Reid stressed that these positions "are not racist."

"All Americans, not only in the states most heavily affected, but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers. That's why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders more by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as ever before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens. ... [W]e will try to do more to speed the deportation of illegal aliens who are arrested for crimes[.] ... We are a nation of immigrants. But we are also a nation of laws. It is wrong and ultimately self-defeating for a nation of immigrants to permit the kind of abuse of our immigration laws we have seen in recent years, and we must do more to stop it.

Bill Clinton, 1995 State of the Union address.

"The American people are fundamentally pro-legal immigration and anti-illegal immigration[.] ... A primary goal ... must be to curtail future illegal immigration."

    Charles Schumer, 2009.

"I support further securing our borders; prohibiting hiring of undocumented immigrants [sic] by requiring job applicants to present a secure Social Security card; creating jobs by attracting the world's best and brightest to America and keeping them here; [and] requiring undocumented immigrants [sic] to register with the government, pay taxes, and earn legal [status or face deportation].

    Charles Schumer, 2010.

These are sane comments, thoroughly unlike what we hear from Democrat leaders today. We are now told that comments like these come from horrible and disgusting racist white supremacists.

Chuck Schumer is correct that something horrible and disgusting is happening here. He is just wrong about where those adjectives apply.

Flashback: Bill Clinton and Barack Obama slam illegal immigration in State of the Union speeches
    February 1, 2018 https://www.conservativeinstitute.o...egal-immigration/flashback-state-of-union.htm

“Real reform means establishing a responsible pathway to earned citizenship, a path that included passing a background check, paying taxes and a meaningful penalty, learning English and going to the back of the line behind the folks trying to come here legally,” the president declared during his State of the Union address, eliciting a show of support from both chambers of Congress. Yet, these were not what liberals would later call the bigoted demands of President Donald Trump — this was the unmistakably firm position of former President Barack Obama.

Ideas that Democratic lawmakers refused to stand and applaud for on Tuesday night were enthusiastically received when they originated from the darlings of the left. In fact, both Obama and President Bill Clinton received standing ovations from their party when they announced realistic immigration policies during their own State of the Union speeches.

Take a look at these speeches from Obama and Clinton, delivered in 2013 and 1996 respectively, via IJR: [Please click on the link above to run the video].

    Deporters-in-Chief

Despite the outraged objections from Democrats, Trump’s immigration policies are not new or radical proposals — they are common sense reforms approved by a supermajority of informed American voters.

While Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) insist that the “vast majority of Americans” oppose Trump’s “America First” policies, surveys from National Research Inc. and The Polling Company demonstrate that as many as 70 to 80 percent of Americans support Trump’s tough immigration reforms.

The will of the majority is precisely what compelled Bill Clinton to pursue an immigration reform that is practically indistinguishable from Trump’s policies in 2018. Addressing Congress and the American people 22 years ago, Clinton said:

All Americans, not only in the states most heavily affected, but in every place in this country, are rightly disturbed by the large numbers of illegal aliens entering our country. The jobs they hold might otherwise be held by citizens or legal immigrants. The public service they use impose burdens on our taxpayers. That’s why our administration has moved aggressively to secure our borders more by hiring a record number of new border guards, by deporting twice as many criminal aliens as ever before, by cracking down on illegal hiring, by barring welfare benefits to illegal aliens.

Similarly, Obama approved of strict immigration measures during his presidency, and his 2013 State of the Union address reflects his contemporaneous endorsement of Trump’s “America First” vision. Obama spoke to Americans about what he called “real reform:”

Real reform means establishing a responsible pathway to earned citizenship – a path that includes passing a background check, paying taxes and a meaningful penalty, learning English, and going to the back of the line behind the folks trying to come here legally.

And real reform means fixing the legal immigration system to cut waiting periods, reduce bureaucracy, and attract the highly-skilled entrepreneurs and engineers that will help create jobs and grow our economy.

“Send me a comprehensive immigration reform bill in the next few months, and I will sign it right away,” Obama declared. Ironically, Trump asked the same from Democrats, offering an extremely favorable deal that would provide citizenship to 1.8 million so-called Dreamers if they agreed to negotiate on comprehensive immigration reform.

Still Democrats couldn’t get behind the deal.

    Strange bedfellows

Policies that were desirable just over one year ago and under a Democratic president are suddenly unacceptable — even racist — today. Apparently, Democrats forget that the “deporter-in-chief,” as immigration activists called Obama, formalized the deportation process, officially removing more illegal immigrants than both Bush and Clinton combined in a streamlined system that helped ensure that these illegal immigrants would not attempt to cross the border again.

Obama was simply echoing policies from his Democratic forebears in the Oval Office. It was Clinton, after all, who established new grounds for deportation, enacted stiff penalties for aliens who repeatedly re-enter the country, mandated sentences for offenders, and a set up a framework for cooperation on immigration between federal and local law enforcement agencies.

As Pelosi and Schumer sat with crossed arms, deploring every last word spoken by President Trump, Americans were reminded of an impetuous child throwing a tantrum when their parent shows too much affection to a sibling. Either congressional Democrats cannot recall their enthusiastic support for comprehensive immigration reform, or they just revealed their hypocritical partisanship during Trump’s State of the Union address.

In either case, 2018 would be a perfect time for these lawmakers to abdicate their congressional authority and make way for fresh, energized representatives who will not succumb to vindictive politicization.

It’s high time for a change.

I agree. Both sides are getting something from this or it would have been solved long ago. The MSM gins up emotion because of ratings and a general leftist mentality. But do they actually care? If they cared about innocent children they would be against abortion and the sexual abuse and trafficking that DJT is working so hard to eradicate. They are empty gongs and clanging cymbals I think. And sadly many may be complicit on some level if IG report is correct.

What i find interesting in all this hypocrisy, is people's hatred of Donald Trump over taking their ability to reason. The same policies from previous administrations that were lauded are now used to further demonize Trump. And when you point out this seeming double standard, the person you are talking to grows horns and foams at the mouth and flips out right in front of you. It is interesting on some level to witness. Sometimes I think more people than we realize are affected by demons.

Trump lawyer calls for inquiry on Mueller's Russia probe

Washington (AFP) - Donald Trump's personal lawyer on Sunday called for an investigation into special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, claiming it was tainted from the outset under former FBI director James Comey.

"We want the Mueller probe to be investigated the way the Trump administration has been investigated," Rudy Giuliani said on CNN's "State of the Union."

"This is a case where it's crying out for someone to investigate the investigators," he later told CBS.

    .......

"We want to see if we can have the investigation and special counsel declared illegal and unauthorized," Giuliani, a former New York mayor and federal prosecutor, told the Post in an interview Friday.

TRUMP: WASHINGTON POST EMPLOYEES SHOULD GO ON STRIKE

President Donald Trump attacked Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and The “Fake News” Washington Post in a Sunday morning tweet.

Trump asserted that Washington Post employees “want to go on strike because [Jeff] Bezos isn’t paying them enough,” and suggested it would be a “great idea” because it would put the paper out of business for a period of time.

“I think a really long strike would be a great idea,” Trump wrote. “Employees would get more money and we would get rid of Fake News for an extended period of time!”

“Is @WaPo a registered lobbyist?” he added.

Trump has previously accused Bezos of using the Post as a lobbying arm for Amazon and has urged him to register the newspaper as a lobbyist.

  19. COMEY UNDER INVESTIGATION FOR HANDLING OF CLASSIFIED INFORMATION

Former FBI director James Comey is under investigation for mishandling classified information, DOJ inspector general Michael Horowitz revealed Monday.

He is specifically under investigation for his handling of memos he wrote about interactions with President Trump while FBI director.

“Comey said he did not expect a report on his handling of classified information because, ‘That’s frivolous.’ I don’t happen to think that it is frivolous,” Sen. Chuck Grassley said during a Senate hearing Monday.

“Question number one, Mr. Horowitz, are you investigating the handling of his memo and does that include the classification issues, and should Mr. Comey expect a report when it’s complete?” Grassley asked.

“We received a referral on that from the FBI. We are handling that referral and we will issue a report when the matter is complete, consistent with the law and rules that are — a report that’s consistent and takes those into account,” Horowitz responded.

etoa, Thank you for posting this.

When I saw your post, I just finished reading the transcript from this entire interview along with an interview Maria Bartiromo also did with Rep. McCaul yesterday, another interview with Rep. Ratcliffe and finally an interview with Alan Dershowitz, Professor Emeritus, Harvard Law.

I think that they were all very good and the transcripts for all four interviews are contained in the following link, http://www.foxnews.com/transcript/2...nes-talks-meeting-with-fbi-doj-officials.html .

The following is a segment from the interview with Rep. Nunes,

NUNES:...And, look, here's the bottom line. Mr. Rosenstein, the deputy attorney general, and Director Wray have to decide whether or not they want to be part of the cleanup crew or they want to be part of the cover-up crew.

That's really the decision that they have to make for themselves here. The best way they can be part of the cleanup...

    BARTIROMO: Yes.

NUNES: Of this mess is give us all the documents this week, so that we can put this behind us and let the American people begin to heal.
And, the following is a segment from the interview with Rep. McCaul (he also spoke briefly about the Summit between North Korea and USA, see link above),

BARTIROMO: Thank you so much for joining us on this special day. Thank you for that.

What are you expecting on Tuesday, when the president comes to Capitol Hill to look at these two bills and discuss these bills with you?

MCCAUL: Well, look, I have been working with the -- working with the president of the United States and the administration.

I talked to him, in fact, just yesterday. The president is fully committed to both of these bills. He has put the full weight of his office behind it.

You know, the McCaul-Goodlatte bill, they both, I would say, provide the four pillars that I discussed with the president at that sort of famous roundtable discussion.

Most importantly from my perspective, Maria, it has got border security in there. It has got funding for the wall that the president really wants. It has got the technology and boots on the ground. And the four pillars being ending chain migration, ending this random visa lottery system, providing border security, and a DACA solution.

So I think obviously I'd like to see McCaul-Goodlatte pass on the floor and we wouldn't have to get to a second bill. But if it gets to that point, I do think this is a historic opportunity to advance a conservative agenda that we've been trying to do for the last 25 years, to structurally change the way we do immigration and make it more merit-based rather than random, and also get that border secure because, Maria, the threats, as I get briefed by the secretary and the ICE director, of potential terrorists and drug cartels and all the other stuff, is real.

BARTIROMO: Yes, I want to ask you the cooperation you're getting from your colleagues in the Senate and certainly your colleagues on the left because this is an issue that America wants taken care of. And it just seems that you get to some success and then it stops.

MCCAUL: Well, look, I don't think without the president's leadership, and I applaud him for doing this, and I applaud his team. Without him coming to Capitol Hill on Tuesday, I don't think we would have that sort of maximum pressure, if you will, to get us across the goal line.

And I anticipate on Tuesday he's going to be the leader he is and we're going to get something passed out of the House. And to your point, what I do worry about is Mitch McConnell and the Senate and what can they do.

But I do think this is the beginning of the conversation. We won't get anything done if the House doesn't get its business done and pass something.
Also, the following interview with Rep. Ratcliffe,

BARTIROMO: And I know, Congressman, you've gone through the IG report. Do me a favor, go through it for us. You've put it into three categories. Explain to our viewers what's most important in terms of this inspector general report.

RATCLIFFE: Yes, it's hard to break down 565 pages, but there are three main take-aways or categories for me. And the first one is the IG report really tells us that the problems at the FBI and the Department of Justice were more pervasive and problematic than any of us realized.

The second thing is it sadly confirms that even though Hillary Clinton should have been charged with mishandling classified information, she was never really in danger of seeing that happen.

And finally, the inspector general report really provides a factual basis to call into question the legitimacy of all of the actions taken, all of the decisions made, and all of the evidence gathered in the first nine months of the Trump Russia investigation, based on who was in charge of that investigation.

BARTIROMO: Yes, that's a very good compilation of the three areas that we want to focus on. That first one was the FBI and the DOJ. And here you said it was much more pervasive than any of us thought, the animus against Donald Trump really came through in some of these texts.

I point your attention to the text of August 8th, 2016, between Lisa Page and Peter Strzok when she says "Trump is not ever going to become president, right?", Peter Strzok says "no, no, he won't, we will stop it."

Interesting to note that Peter Strzok was put in charge of the Trump-Russia collusion case on July 31, 2016. Eight days later, August 8th, he says "we will stop it." Four days later, another text. "We need an insurance policy" so that Trump doesn't become president.

Is that the kind of animus you're referring to?

RATCLIFFE: Yes. And it's not limited to Peter Strzok, although I will say I don't know that the FBI could have chosen anyone worse to lead the Trump- Russia investigation had they picked Hillary Clinton to lead that investigation. I don't know that the level of animus or bias or prejudice against Donald Trump would have been any higher.

But the IG report tells us that it's Peter Strzok and it's Lisa Page, but it's also teams of agents and lawyers that are identified in this IG report, five of whom who have been referred to the Office of Professional Responsibility for their anti-Trump texts.

And so really throughout the 565 pages of this report, Maria, on every page you find some evidence of political bias against Donald Trump and that really calls into question the work that was done here with respect to the two highest profile investigations in recent times, both the Hillary Clinton email investigation, and the Trump-Russia investigation that became the special counsel matter.

BARTIROMO: You know, if anybody has given us a window into how the rank and file or some of the leadership certainly felt about Donald Trump, it's Peter Strzok with his texts. I mean, that has been incredibly revealing. Why does he still work there? How is it possible that he still has a job at the FBI?

I know he was demoted. But still?

    continued...
