CNN's April Ryan slammed for tweeting article about Trump running child-trafficking ring

CNN contributor April Ryan is being criticized for alerting her 336,000 Twitter followers to a story in The Root that asks if the Trump administration is involved in child sex-trafficking.

Among those condemning Ryan for the tweet is first lady Melania Trump’s spokeswoman.

“If you’re a journalist w many followers & a @CNNPolitics contributor...is it ok to retweet any headline you want, regardless of if it’s true?” Stephanie Grisham asked on Twitter. “Remember: 'The core purpose of a journalist is to research, document, write, & present the news in an honest, ethical, & unbiased way.'”

Grisham may have been most disturbed by the headline of The Root article: “Is the Trump administration running a child-trafficking ring or nah? Follow me down the rabbit hole.”

Ryan responded later Sunday in a tweet: “So apparently fox just wants to slam me for clicks. and never read the article I retweeted either. Lol! So sad! Hello it said the conspiracies were unfounded. You just need me to hate. Thank you!!”

She also tweeted a link to her book.

Ryan, who is also the White House correspondent for American Urban Radio Networks, initially tweeted the article without comment. The Root is an online magazine of African-American culture.

So why should “alt-righters” have all the fun peddling disproven and unfounded conspiracy theories, writes The Root political editor Jason Johnson, who goes on to suggest one of his own.

“Now it turns out that the Trump administration may have an equally implausible conspiracy on its hands: Is the administration involved in child sex trafficking or just white nationalism? Follow me down the rabbit hole and see for yourself,” Johnson says in the article, published Friday.

Many of those who bashed Ryan on Twitter questioned how a professional journalist could associate herself with such a story.

“April Ryan has gone pizzagate on Trump,” tweeted Steve Robinson, who produces the Howie Carr radio talk show.

“This is a horrid excuse for journalism,” Carmine Sabia tweeted. “To quasi accuse the president of the United States of running a child trafficking ring is low even for her.”

“Case solved,” Michael Sheridan tweeted. He pointed out that The Root is owned by Univision, whose president and CEO criticized Trump during the presidential campaign.

Your logic is extremely faulty. For starters, we don’t have to guess whether or not the Consecration was done properly. Sister Lucia is on the record stating that is was done properly in 1984. Secondly, the Consecration of Fatima is but one component of the message of Fatima. The more important, harder to fulfill component was “penance, penance, penance.” Third, we don’t know what Our Lady of Fatima meant by “a period of peace.” Your version of a some sort of Utopia magically appearing the minute after Russia is properly Consecrated (as you imagine it) might not be what Our Lady had in mind. It could very well be that the fall of the Soviet Union and the avoidance of a nuclear war with Russia in 1985 was indeed the “period of peace.” Our Lady didn’t define that phrase so we can only guess what she meant. Or, it could be that Our Lady did indeed mean a larger Peace but that we have not sufficiently fulfilled the request for Penance or honored sufficiently the First Saturday devotion. Or, the period of peace might not come until Catholics obey the Church authorities and Fatima seer when they say the Consecration was done properly in 1984. There are many possibilities. It could also be that Our Lady of Fatima’s request for Penance was not fulfilled so she appeared elsewhere with further requests that must now be honored for the Peace to come (Our Lady of America, Our Lady of All Nations, etc.). Your fixation on the Russia Consecration to the exclusion of all other possibilities is rather strange and is a refusal to believe what Sister Lucia herself is on the record stating.

I find it amazing that over 50 years after JFK’s assassination, our Deep State (with Trump’s blessing, sadly) is still withholding documents on the basis of “national security.” LOL! It’s been 50 years since the assassination, which we were told was the doing of a “lone nut.” What could national security possibly have to do with it at this point? Trump actually stated that he is withholding the documents that were supposed to be finally released in 2017, to protect the “names and addresses” of individuals still living. Hmmm, I wonder who they might be? I’m not a betting man but I would wager a pair of dirty socks that George Bush and Henry Kissinger are high on any possible list of names being withheld. George couldn’t remember where he was on November, 22 1963 and it is no secret that both Bobby and JFK wanted the Israel lobby in America to register as agents of a foreign government.

JFK did not want Israel to have the bomb was because it could inspire the Arabs to do so. His policy was that the Middle East should be absent these weapons period. Here is an excerpt from JFK’s letter to Ben Gurion in May, 1963:

"We are concerned with the disturbing effects on world stability which would accompany the development of a nuclear weapons capability by Israel. I cannot imagine that the Arabs would refrain from turning to the Soviet Union for assistance if Israel were to develop a nuclear weapons capability—with all the consequences this would hold. But the problem is much larger than its impact on the Middle East. Development of a nuclear weapons capability by Israel would almost certainly lead other larger countries, that have so far refrained from such development, to feel that they must follow suit." http://www.jewishvirtuallibrary.org/kennedy-letter-to-ben-gurion-regarding-visit-to-dimona

Ben Gurion resigned a few weeks later, but JFK did not let up the pressure.

In July, 1963, Kennedy, noting the ways the United States had assisted Israel, warned the new Israeli Prime Minister Levi Eshkol that the U.S. commitment to his country “would be seriously jeopardized in the public opinion in this country and in the West as a whole if it should be thought that this Government was unable to obtain reliable information on a subject as vital to peace as the question of the character of Israel’s efforts in the nuclear field.” https://nsarchive2.gwu.edu/israel/documents/exchange/index.html

Kennedy demanded of Eshkol that the United States be allowed to conduct visits. When Kennedy was killed, the policy was immediately reversed under LBJ under whom Israel developed the bomb without acknowledging it, and also attacked the USS Liberty, killing 34 Americans while trying to create a false flag attack that would force the US into the war with Egypt. This became the only American attack of a ship never fully investigated by the US Navy.

  4. Fatima

    Fatima Powers

Sister Lucia stated the consecration of the world, not Russia, as specifically requested by our Lady of Fatima, was accepted by God, and it was. It delayed the purification for a few decades. If you think for a minute that your perception of "peace" is God's plan for peace you are very sadly mistaken. Substantial credible prophecy has this era of peace lasting, as scripture puts it, "for 1000 years" Revelations 1-10. It is the absence of Satan, The Antichrist and the False prophet for this time period scripture provides and this will be effect of the Fatima request of the Consecration of Russia and the Triumph of the Heart of Mary.

Notice those like yourself, never refer to the consecration of Russia. Only the "consecration", as if no mention of Russia along with the bishops of the world and the pope is/was not necessary. I guess you have had your era of peace. To bad the other 6 billion people in the world do not recognize it took place and give no credit to Our Lady of Fatima for it taking place. Your "peace" period happened and left so quick, no one in the world experienced it. Sadly, this not what God planned for this event to honor His mother.

Another Internet sleuth (REX) put together some more pieces to Spygate over the weekend. The sleuth’s analysis shows that Obama’s Spygate scandal started much earlier than expected and Deep State leaks support this claim.
On April 13, 2017, the far left Guardian posted an article about Trump and Russia collusion that began by making a couple now key assertions,

    1) British spies played a crucial role in the Trump – Russia conspiracy
    2) Trump – Russia scandal began in at least 2015
    3) The UK was involved
    4) The UK and US worked together for the next six months

    Via The Guardian:

Britain’s spy agencies played a crucial role in alerting their counterparts in Washington to contacts between members of Donald Trump’s campaign team and Russian intelligence operatives, the Guardian has been told.

GCHQ first became aware in late 2015 of suspicious “interactions” between figures connected to Trump and known or suspected Russian agents, a source close to UK intelligence said. This intelligence was passed to the US as part of a routine exchange of information, they added.

Over the next six months, until summer 2016, a number of western agencies shared further information on contacts between Trump’s inner circle and Russians, sources said.

GCHQ is the Government Communications Headquarters (GCHQ) is an intelligence and security organisation in the UK.

[It’s unknown who in the Trump campaign was even remotely linked to Russia in 2015. General Flynn visited Moscow in December 2015 but this was no reason to spy on President Trump.]
After noting that Germany, Poland, Estonia, Australia, the Dutch and the French were all involved in the scandal and passing information on to the [Obama Administration in the] US, the Guardian article pointed out that the UK spy agency was at no point carrying out a targeted operation against Trump or his team or proactively seeking information. –

It is understood that GCHQ was at no point carrying out a targeted operation against Trump or his team or proactively seeking information. The alleged conversations were picked up by chance as part of routine surveillance of Russian intelligence assets. Over several months, different agencies targeting the same people began to see a pattern of connections that were flagged to intelligence officials in the US.

This on face value is a lie. The investigation was a targeted hit and not something “picked up by chance.”

The article goes on to report that President Trump’s Press Secretary at the time, released information that Trump was wired at Trump Tower and that it was the UK that wired the future President –

The issue of GCHQ’s role in the FBI’s ongoing investigation into possible cooperation between the Trump campaign and Moscow is highly sensitive. In March Trump tweeted that Barack Obama had illegally “wiretapped” him in Trump Tower.

The White House press secretary, Sean Spicer, claimed the “British spying agency” GCHQ had carried out the bugging. Spicer cited an unsubstantiated report on Fox News. Fox later distanced itself from the report.

The claims prompted an extremely unusual rebuke from GCHQ, which generally refrains from commenting on all intelligence matters. The agency described the allegations first made by a former judge turned media commentator, Andrew Napolitano, as “nonsense”.

“They are utterly ridiculous and should be ignored,” a spokesperson for GCHQ said.

One source called the British eavesdropping agency the “principal whistleblower”.

So according to the sources in the article the UK began spying on President Trump in late 2015 but Judge ‘Nap’ and Sean Spicer were incorrect to say so because the UK spy agency said this was ‘utterly ridiculous’.

We’ve been told by the MSM and even the article above that the Trump – Russia story started in mid-2016. But this Guardian article pushes the spying back into 2015:

We also now know that a number of FBI Agents traveled to and from London in 2016. @JohnWHuber wrote an excellent thread noting the visit of Comey’s FBI crooks to London in May 2016 at the same time as Downer (Australian) was ‘meeting’ with Papadopoulos. This is consistent with the Guardian post above.

It’s now very clear that the UK spied on the Trump team starting at least as early as 2015.
They were sharing information with the US from at least that time going forward.
Maybe this is why former British Spy Head Robert Hannigan resigned from the GCHQ in January 2017. This was shortly before Spicer’s comments about the British spying on President Trump.
Once again, it appears the UK meddled in the 2016 election — NOT Russia.

IT’S ON=> Senate Judiciary Committee to Hold Hearing On Much-Anticipated IG Report June 5

The Senate Judiciary Committee announced Tuesday evening it will be holding a hearing on the Inspector General’s report on June 5th.

The hearing will be live-streamed for public viewing.

On Tuesday, the Senate Judiciary announced Chairman Chuck Grassley will be holding a hearing entitled: “Examining the Inspector General’s First Report on the Justice Department’s Decisions Regarding the 2016 Presidential Election.”

The hearing will be live-streamed on the judiciary.senate.gov website.

Chairman @ChuckGrassley: @SenJudiciary Committee to hold hearing entitled: “Examining the Inspector General’s First Report on @TheJusticeDept Decisions Regarding the 2016 Presidential Election” on Tuesday, June 5 at 10:00 a.m.

    Fox News reported:

Justice Department Inspector General Michael Horowitz is slated to testify before congressional committees next month, presumably after the release of his long-awaited report on the FBI’s Hillary Clinton investigation during the 2016 presidential campaign, Fox News has learned.

Both the Senate Judiciary Committee and the House Oversight Committee are preparing to have Horowitz appear before them in early June, according to a congressional source.

On Tuesday, Senate Judiciary Chairman Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, said his committee would hold a hearing titled “Examining the Inspector General’s First Report on Justice Department Decisions Regarding the 2016 Presidential Election” on June 5.

In June, House Republicans also plan to interview three FBI officials linked to the agency’s handling of the Clinton email probe, part of an ongoing joint investigation by the House Judiciary and Oversight and Government Reform committees.

To be interviewed are: Bill Priestap, assistant director of the FBI’s counterintelligence division; Michael Steinbach, former head of the agency’s national security division; and Steinbach’s predecessor, John Giacalone.

Inspector General Michael Horowitz informed lawmakers two weeks ago on Capitol Hill his much-anticipated report on the FBI’s handling of Hillary Clinton’s email investigation has entered the final stages.
Sources are saying the report on the FBI’s 7th floor under Comey’s Directorship is absolutely damning and “worse than expected.”

James Gagliano, a retired FBI agent who left the bureau in 2015 said buckle up because the IG report will be very damning.

So far, Inspector General Michael Horowitz, an Obama-appointee has delivered.

The Inspector General released a scathing report on former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe in mid-April.
The report by the Office of Inspector General criticized McCabe for “lack of candor” regarding his disclosure to Wall Street Journal reporters before the 2016 election.

As a result of these investigations and reports, Andrew McCabe has been criminally referred to the Justice Department twice.

Unfortunately without an active Attorney General, none of the criminal referrals sent to the DOJ will result in indictments.

I have a feeling that Mexico will somehow pay for the wall as President Trump keeps stating,

Donald Trump returns to campaign trail and discredited promise to make Mexico pay for border wall
by Rob Crilly, New York 30 May 2018 https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/20...urns-campaign-trail-discredited-promise-make/

Donald Trump returned to the campaign trail on Tuesday night with a familiar refrain, criticising Mexico for failing to stop the flow of illegal immigrants to the US and promising to make Mexico pay for his proposed border wall.

And the result was the same: Enthusiastic cheers from supporters in Nashville, Tennessee, followed by a swift promise from the Mexican president that no such thing would ever happen.

Mr. Trump took his message out on the road as part of efforts to shore up Republican votes during what could be tricky mid-term elections in November.

Democrats hope an unpopular president could help them wrest back control of the Senate and the House of Representatives.

But Mr Trump returned to the talking points that gave him a shock win in 2016.

"I don't want to cause a problem, but in the end, Mexico's gonna pay for the wall ," he said to roars of approval. "They do absolutely nothing to stop people from going through Mexico, from Honduras and all these other countries... They do nothing to help us.”

Mexico has repeatedly said it has no obligation to help the US build a wall, and Mr Trump has in the past backed away from the pledge only to return to it.

Again on Tuesday Enrique Pena Nieto, the Mexican President, insisted that his country would never pay for its construction.

    View attachment 7989

Otherwise, Mr Trump used the rally to fire up his base by celebrating his achievements in office, from a slew of positive economic indicators to making good on his promise to move the US embassy in Israel to Jerusalem.

He appealed for Republican unity and said the elections need not mean the party that holds the White House loses congressional seats.

“In November, we will reverse a trend," he said.

He also talked up Marsha Blackburn, who is running for a Senate seat in the state.

“We need Marsha in the Senate to continue the amazing progress and work that we've done over the last year and a half,” he said. “To keep on winning, you have to vote Republican in November.”

'Hostile Foreign Power': Tucker Says Mexican Pres Candidates Pledge to Help Illegals Enter US May 23, 2018

Tucker Carlson debated a Mexican-American journalist after all four of Mexico's presidential candidates reportedly agreed their country should help migrants reach the United States.

Carlson reported that the candidates made the pledge at a debate in Tijuana this week.

"Why should we not consider Mexico an enemy?" he asked Univision's Enrique Acevedo.

Acevedo responded that candidates "say a lot while campaigning" and pointed to President Donald Trump labeling some Mexican immigrants "rapists" and pledging to build a border wall.

Carlson disagreed with the premise, saying that Trump's wall plans do not violate Mexican law, while a bordering government seeking to "subvert" American law should be seen as a "hostile foreign power."

He added that Trump could respond by ordering the Treasury to end the ability for Mexican-Americans to send remittances of cash back to Mexico.

Carlson said the Mexican government would collapse because those remittances help to "float the kleptocracy" in Mexico City.

Ahead of the July elections, far-left candidate A. Manuel Lopez Obrador leads in the presidential race.

The other candidates include Ricardo Anaya, Jose Antonio Meade and Jaime "El Bronco" Rodriguez.

CA may be an interesting state to watch this year in the midterms... DNC has been pouring money into it and it is not looking good.

    http://www.foxnews.com/politics/201...hdog-quits-week-before-primary-elections.html

The chief of California's campaign watchdog agency abruptly quit Tuesday -- just a week before the state's June 5 primaries.

The departure of Jodi Remke, who in 2014 was appointed by Democratic Gov. Jerry Brown to lead the Fair Political Practices Commission, came amid a power struggle that included efforts to reduce her influence, reports said.

Remke resigned following months of turmoil at the agency, the Los Angeles Times reported. She reportedly clashed frequently with other commissioners, who were expected next week to push for a new structure that would drastically cut Remke’s role as the top political ethics cop in the state.

She was the only full-time official on the commission.

In the resignation letter, Remke celebrated her achievements at the agency, but said she remained “concerned with the proposed changes to the Commission's longstanding governance structure.”

“I’m confident that during this busy election cycle staff will continue to build on the significant progress we have made in advancing governmental integrity and the public’s trust in government,” she added.

The resignation also coincides with the upcoming statewide primary election next week that typically draws multiple campaign ethics complaints to the agency. It will be seen how Remke’s departure affects the policing of ethics in the election, as the agency has been criticized in the past for slow response to any alleged ethics violations by political candidates.

"Staff is used to and is prepared for the normal process of changes in the Commission as there are always new commissioners and chair every two to four years," Jay Wierenga, a spokesman for the FPPC, told the Sacramento Bee, adding that Remke will take a position as the presiding administrative law judge for appellate operations for the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board.

Dan Schnur, who once was an FPPC chair, told the Bee that Remke’s resignation will contribute to the marginalization of the watchdog’s role “in the eyes of the political community."

"Stepping aside in the last days before an election is in keeping with a very minimalist approach to the job that she’s displayed ever since she was first named chair," Schnur said.

'Prayer Changes Hearts': President Trump Honors God's Redemptive Work in Former Bank Robber's Life
Jon Ponder was an inmate that was given a second chance and he says it did not come from a prison reform program, but from the hand of God.

"I invited Jesus to be the Lord of my life and life just went in a 180-degree turn," Ponder told Fox & Friends.

President Trump honored Ponder and the work he is doing with prison inmates during the National Day of Prayer Thursday.

    Related

"Your story reminds us that prayer changes hearts and transforms lives," the president said. "It uplifts the soul, inspires action, and unites us all as one nation under God."

Ponder took to Twitter hours later to thank the president.

"What an absolute honor to have the @POTUS @realDonaldTrump acknowledge the transformative power of God at work in my life and validate the great work God is doing through the ministry," he wrote.

Ponder, now the CEO and founder of Hope For Prisoners Inc., spent his time in and out of prison starting at the age of 12. He was arrested for bank robbery and sent to a maximum security prison in Allenwood, Pennsylvania.

"Jon soon ended up in federal prison relegated to solitary confinement. That's where God found him," Trump told the crowd gathered at the White House Rose Garden Thursday. "Jon began to read the Bible and listen to Christian radio."

That when the transformation took place.

"I remember one time I was in prison in solitary confinement and I had a little transistor radio and in that transistor radio, I heard a Billy Graham sermon," Ponder told Fox News. "I woke up in the middle of the night and Billy Graham was sharing a story of the prodigal son and at the end of that message he made the call to surrender your life to the Lord and I invited Jesus to be the Lord of my life."

Jon spent the rest of his time in prison praying, studying the Bible and leading fellow inmates to Christ.

Jon was released from prison years later at the age of 38. The day after his release he was visited by the man who put him in jail, FBI special agent Richard Beasley.

Richard told Jon he had been praying for him while he was in jail.

The pair are now best friends.

"I love him," Jon told Trump at the event.

Jon now shares the love of Christ by helping other former inmates receive a second chance by providing them job training, Christian discipleship, and financial literacy courses.

"When a person gets out of prison, he or she wants to change, but many don't know how to change," Ponder told the Las Vegas Review-Journal in 2016. "It's our job to help the ex-offenders become a valuable part of society."

"I tell people that Hope for Prisoners is something that God impregnated me with many years ago while I was in prison," he continued.

Trump told listeners at the White House that there is power in prayer.

"Jon and Richard you are the living testament of the power of prayer," he said. "Our country was founded on prayer, our communities are sustained by prayer, and our nation will be renewed by hard work, a lot of intelligence, and prayer."

Yes. When in history has a president EVER spoken so courageously about faith and prayer?

I’d suspect he has literally had a “born again” experience with the help and prayers of his inner circle at the White House. Or Melania’s public self identification as a Catholic (and carrying her grandmother’s rosary instead of flowers at their wedding) has had an incredible effect on him.

Big spending by George Soros and liberal groups fails to sway D.A. races in California

By Abbie VanSickle and Paige St. John

Voters in at least three California counties appeared to have rejected district attorney candidates funded by a liberal consortium that includes New York billionaire George Soros and other wealthy political donors. (Francois Mori / Associated Press)

California voters appeared to reject liberal challengers in three closely watched district attorney races, delivering a sharp defeat to a national network that is attempting to reshape the criminal justice system by electing liberal prosecutors.

Incumbent district attorneys in Sacramento, San Diego and Alameda counties led by large margins, according to unofficial results posted Wednesday by county elections offices. A fourth contested race, in Contra Costa County, appeared headed to a runoff in November if results remain the same.

The elections, typically local affairs, garnered national attention this year after a consortium of wealthy liberal donors, headlined by New York billionaire George Soros, pumped millions of dollars into the races.

In Sacramento County, Dist. Atty. Anne Marie Schubert, a prominent conservative voice in statewide politics, declared victory with 64% of the vote. Her Soros-backed challenger has yet to concede. In San Diego County, incumbent Summer Stephan won nearly two-thirds of the vote, according to the county elections office. In Alameda County, longtime Dist. Atty. Nancy O’Malley looked to have comfortably avoided a runoff with 60% of the vote.

    The California Experiment
This is one in an occasional series examining the impact of recent justice measures aimed at reducing incarceration. It is a collaboration between The Times and the Marshall Project, a nonprofit news outlet.

Early returns in Contra Costa County, the only race where Soros backed an incumbent, showed Dist. Atty. Diana Becton with 49.6%. A candidate must win more than 50% to avoid a runoff in the November general election. It’s unclear how many ballots remained to be counted.

If the results become official, it would mark the consortium’s most significant loss in district attorney races.

Since 2014, Soros has spent more than $16 million in more than a dozen races outside California. His favored candidates racked up high-profile victories in Florida, Pennsylvania, Texas and other states.

In California, he spent more than $2.7 million. The money from Soros and others helped challengers match or surpass the millions of dollars — mostly from police, prosecutors and local business groups — flowing to incumbents unaccustomed to such organized liberal opposition.

In Sacramento County, the liberal coalition threw its support behind Noah Phillips, a career prosecutor who challenged Schubert, his boss.

The divisive race exposed deep rifts in the community. Phillips focused on anger over police shootings, particularly the death of Stephon Clark, an unarmed black man shot in March as officers searched for a burglary suspect. The killing sparked weeks of protests in the capital, prompting Schubert to erect a fence around the district attorney’s office.

The race took another twist in April, when Schubert announced the capture of a suspect in the infamous Golden State Killer case. Her campaign capitalized on the arrest, rolling out ads that told voters, “She protects us.”

In San Diego County, Geneviéve Jones-Wright, a deputy public defender, made campaign promises that included the creation of a police accountability unit.

When Soros announced support for Jones-Wright, Stephan launched a website calling her “the anti-law enforcement candidate.”

A bit of background on what he was trying to accomplish...

Here's why George Soros, liberal groups are spending big to help decide who's your next D.A.

    May 23, 2018 | 7:00 AM

The race remained contentious until the end. On Friday, families in two high-profile local homicides held opposing news conference, one siding with Stephan, the other criticizing her.

In the Bay Area’s Contra Costa County, Soros and others supported Becton, a longtime judge recently appointed district attorney after her predecessor stepped down amid a political corruption scandal. Becton’s two opponents were Paul Graves, an experienced prosecutor from the office, and a local defense attorney who previously worked as a prosecutor in Hawaii.

The consortium’s intervention fueled criticism that outsiders were interfering in local campaigns they knew little about. Some candidates complained they were targeted despite their support for liberal justice policies.

“It’s a big-money, outside money approach where they didn’t even interview candidates,” said James Fisfis, a consultant to Graves, who pledged not to prosecute cases in which police conducted a search or made an arrest based solely on a suspect’s racial profile. “The whole thing is just strange to us.”

In another divisive race, Alameda County saw the liberal coalition throw its resources behind Pamela Price, a civil rights lawyer, in her bid to unseat O’Malley, a longtime incumbent who had the support of some of the state’s key Democrats, including Gov. Jerry Brown and U.S. Sens. Kamala Harris and Dianne Feinstein.

Many of the players funding the liberal candidates joined forces in California four years ago to pass Proposition 47, which turned drug use and most theft convictions from felonies to misdemeanors.

The new strategy targeting district attorney elections highlighted the enormous influence elected prosecutors wield within local criminal justice systems, deciding what charges to prioritize for prosecution and when to seek rehabilitation or lengthy incarceration for criminals. By supporting the election of like-minded district attorneys, the consortium hoped to secure many of the sentencing and bail policies they have struggled to realize through laws or ballot initiatives.

District attorney elections in California have historically been won by candidates who talk tough on crime and have support from local police. But the Soros-backed candidates pledged to reduce incarceration, crack down on police misconduct and revamp a bail system they contend unfairly imprisons poor people before trial.

“It’s a big shift from what used to be the dynamic,” said Stanford Law professor David Sklansky. “If issues were discussed at all, the competition was to see who could be the toughest on crime. I think what’s significant, whether or not these candidates do well, is they’ve changed the conversation.”

The campaigns alarmed many in law enforcement, who warned of a slippery slope if prosecutors pick and choose which laws to enforce.

“They’re basically promising in advance to violate their oath of office,” said Michele Hanisee, president of the union that represents L.A. County prosecutors. “It is not the job of an elected district attorney to decide what laws to uphold. The district attorney’s job is to implement the law.”

Regardless of the outcomes, liberal activists say the spending gave voice to community concerns, particular for people of color.

“Win or lose, these campaigns have been a success because they elevated the voices of voters,” said Anne Irwin, a former San Francisco public defender who started a nonprofit advocacy organization that helped a network of donors identify candidates to support. “The elections reminded the D.A.s that these are not tenured positions. They have to answer to the communities that elect them.”

For voters, the contentious, high-dollar races may become the new norm. Organizers say the campaigns are just the start of a long-term strategy. In future elections, the consortium plans to mobilize the networks of volunteers and voters built during past campaigns.

“These candidates will continue to be reform messengers in their communities,” Irwin said. “We’ll continue to educate voters about the power of their district attorney, and we’ll get ready for 2020 and 2022.”

It has been quite a week since last Friday and I don't believe that I even included anything about the Eagles being disinvited to the WH;) or Roseanne Barr's show being cancelled or Samantha Bee's disgusting comments about Ivanka Trump . President Trump continues to need our prayers. The economy is doing well and his enemies are getting more and more angry.

Alice Marie Johnson: 5 Fast Facts You Need to Know [She is not a relative of Kim Kardashian .]
    by Jessica McBride Jun 7, 2018 https://heavy.com/news/2018/05/alice-marie-johnson/
Alice Marie Johnson, a great-grandmother from Memphis, Tennessee who became an ordained minister behind bars, has served more than 21 years in prison for a non-violent drug conspiracy offense, and President Donald Trump has now decided to commute her life sentence.

On June 6, 2018, the Associated Press reported that Trump has decided to grant Alice Johnson a sentence commutation.

Video soon showed her release. Johnson said in an interview that she would tell Trump thank you for “not just looking at some data about my crime, but actually looking at the person who I have become now and having faith that I deserved a second chance in life.”

Trump tweeted well wishes for her.

Kardashian West had urged Trump to pardon Alice Johnson, 63. Kardashian West visited the White House on May 30, 2018, where she was expected to advance Alice Johnson’s cause in a meeting with presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner and others. You can read court documents from the case later in this article, as well as letters documenting Johnson’s rehabilitation.

There was also a petition on Change.org urging Trump to grant Alice Johnson clemency, and she has received support from politicians and prison reform advocacy groups. Johnson is not the only federal inmate whose freedom Kardashian West has pursued. She posted on Twitter in support of Matthew Charles, a man sent back to federal prison after being released under President Obama’s drug offender commutations.

    Who is Alice Johnson?

Here’s what you need to know:

    1. Alice Johnson Calls Her Term an ‘Unexecuted Sentence of Death’ & Was Described as an ‘Exemplary Inmate’ by a Prison Case Manager

    https://heavy.com/news/2018/05/alice-marie-johnson/

The White House, in announcing the sentence commutation, praised Johnson for accepting responsibility and called her a “model prisoner.”

“Ms. Johnson has accepted responsibility for her past behavior and has been a model prisoner over the past two decades,” The White House wrote in a statement. “Despite receiving a life sentence, Alice worked hard to rehabilitate herself in prison and act as a mentor to her fellow inmates. Her Warden, Case Manager, and Vocational Training Instructor have all written letters in support of her clemency.”
    ...
The White House quoted the Warden, Arcala Washington-Adduci, as saying, “since Ms. Johnson’s arrival at this institution, she has exhibited outstanding and exemplary work ethic. She is considered to be a model inmate who is willing to go above and beyond in all work tasks” and added, “While this administration will always be very tough on crime, it believes that those who have paid their debt to society and worked hard to better themselves while in prison deserve a second chance.”
    ...
In the letter to CNN, Johnson concluded, “No matter what happens, I was not built to break. I will keep writing. I will continue to hold my head high and live a productive life either as a free woman or here behind bars. God has shown me my strength.”

    2. Several Hundred Thousand People Have Signed a Petition Urging the Release of Johnson, an Ordained Minister Who Writes Plays
    ...
The petition says that Alice Johnson has been a model inmate. “My mother has accepted full responsibility for her actions and used that experience to better her life and the lives of others.”
    ...
    3. Alice Johnson Was Working as a ‘Telephone Mule,” Her Daugher Says
    ...
According to Alice Johnson’s daughter, her mother’s role in the conspiracy was through the telephone. “My family’s life changed forever when my she was sentenced to life in federal prison,” she wrote on Change.org. “She was one of thousands of first time, nonviolent offenders who were given long mandatory prison terms.”

Tretessa explained some of the details of the offense, writing, “She had lost her job and became a telephone mule passing messages between her coconspirators.”

The Change.org petition quotes Alice Johnson as saying, “I couldn’t find a job fast enough to take care of my family. I felt like a failure. I went to a complete panic and out of desperation I made one of the worst decisions of my life to make some quick money. I became involved in a drug conspiracy.”

According to the indictment, the drug conspiracy, which include many people other than Johnson, involved a scheme to transport cocaine from Texas to Tennessee and elsewhere.

Some of the conspirators met at Alice Johnson’s house, the indictment says, adding that Alice rented an apartment in her daughter’s name. The indictment says she also delivered large sums of money as payment for the cocaine. One 1992 meeting between Johnson and other conspirators occurred at a Memphis mall, where they discussed cocaine transactions.

In some instances, other conspirators placed the money and cocaine in “tar buckets” for transportation. In one instance, they loaded a station wagon with cocaine. Some of the other conspirators also loaded the station wagon with $1.5 million in cash. In one instance, Alice Johnson was accused of instructing another conspirator to deliver the cocaine, the indictment says.

    4. A Federal Judge Called Johnson ‘the Quintessential Entrepreneur’ During Sentencing & the Operation Was Tied to Colombian Drug Dealers
    ...

The Associated Press article at the time of Johnson’s sentencing is headlined, “Memphis drug dealer gets life in prison.” The story reports that Johnson, then 41, was sentenced to life in prison for “leading a multimillion-dollar drug ring that dealt in tons of cocaine from 1991-94.”
    ...
U.S. District Judge Julia Gibbons sentenced Johnson. The story reports that Gibbs called Johnson “the quintessential entrepreneur” in the sentencing hearing, decrying the impact that 2,000-3,000 kilograms of cocaine had on the community. The story reported that the Memphis drug conspiracy was affiliated with Colombian drug dealers.

    5. Alice Johnson Is a Great-Grandmother Who Wants to Help Ex-Offenders
    ...
“It serves no purpose or benefit to society to have her locked up for life. Her large and loving immediate and extended family and friends would welcome her return.”

  19. The unbelievable mound of corruption will have to explode or implode sooner or later like the Kilauea volcano! Even wondering if such natural signs aren't simply pointing to what is taking place within man's amount of sins these days. Seems like the old adage of "cherchez la femme" still applies when it comes to vindictive politics and weaponizing govt. agencies:

Evidence of General Flynn Lying to Investigators Was Reportedly Destroyed by Andrew McCabe

As Cristina Laila noted yesterday, TGP previously reported in February, that fired FBI Director McCabe altered far left FBI investigator Peter Strzok’s 302 notes on his interview with General Michael Flynn.

Reports are now circling that not only did corrupt former FBI Head McCabe alter the 302 regarding the interview with General Flynn that later was used to get Flynn fired and indicted by the corrupt Mueller team, McCabe and his corrupt gang also destroyed the supporting documentation for the 302.

Internet sleuths are again at it. New reports are out suspecting that corrupt and fired former FBI Head McCabe destroyed evidence that General Flynn was innocent and did not lie to FBI agents when interviewed shortly after the 2017 Inauguration. Flynn was later indicted by the corrupt and conflicted Mueller team.

Some on the free Internet (i.e. not the MSM) also point out that one of Mueller’s gang, Andrew Weissmann, did the same thing years ago in the government’s case against Enron.

    (commenters)

Don't do many predictions, but here goes: the Flynn 302 is a composite 302. The source materials were not just edited but deleted prior to Flynn's prosecution. There is precedent for this: Mueller's #2 Weissmann destroyed 302s and drafts/notes.

This explains why the docs are not being provided by RR to Grassley & if they haven't been turned over to @GenFlynn legal team by mueller explains that also.
Judge Sullivan needs to act on this.

Corrupt and fired former DOJ AG Sally Yates destroyed evidence in the past as well. She is the one who went to the White House and complained that General Flynn had lied.

If this was a Tom Clancy novel you'd say Nah! Could never happen.
I sincerely hope they are ALL behind bars soon and Gen. Flynn is vindicated. May God save the righteous man. May those who have dug pits fall into them! (Paraphrasing Old Testsment)
