It's all a mess and a big game and a distraction from living out our daily duties and praying. People are a mess. I see far worse blasphemies against God from ordinary people and Hollywood all the time, but because this is Politics and everyone feels the need to properly condemn everyone they think needs condemnation, everyone will just keep reposting and talking endlessly in circles. It's exhausting. We should just pray for everyone. Quite frankly we're all a mess, not just Trump.
I don’t think this would be as significant—or even more so—than the blasphemies that routinely occur in Hollywood if Trump hadn’t initially appeared, during his first term, to be someone who would restore Christian values to America. Moreover, the image in the background—what looks like an angel mixed with the pagan goddess of liberty—seems deeply disturbing in itself, regardless of any healing context it may be portraying. I also believe he should stop sparking controversy almost every week, such as his recent explosive tweet against Pope Leo and the image he shared a few months ago depicting Obama and Michelle as a pair of monkeys, especially knowing that leftists are quick to accuse Republicans of racism. He is already a man of nearly 80 years old and should understand that all the foolish things he does inevitably reflect on his supporters.
I agree, he's too old for this behavior and he needs to dial it back. He loses focus, becomes emotional and goes off the rails creating chaos. I honestly don't think it's possible for him to restrain himself, he doesn't seem to understand the value of silence in certain situations. He did indeed give the impression that Christianity was a high priority for him, and then he did an about face.

During Trump's first term, there were covens of witches trying to cast binding spells on him. The entire radical Left hated him with a passion. The media couldn't stop disparaging him every moment of every day. So I'm having a hard time believing that Trump was fooling us from the very beginning. I'm more inclined to believe that his great pride has been his downfall, in addition to the fear of nearly being killed, and he has allowed the people around him to poison him with the lie that he's a messiah-figure and God's chosen one. So he does whatever they tell them to, by their flattery and pressure. I am only comforted by the fact that God is with us and knew how all of this would play out before He ever allowed Trump to become president in the first place.
God has His own mysterious plans. I agree. And also we dont know another person's heart. Only God does. I am in increasingly uncomfortable with judging motives. Only God knows why anyone does what they do. Call out the actions yes. BUt pray for the person. Fr John Perricone has a wonderful interview with Matt Fradd ( you would like this priest PF--he fought hard to become a good priest through the heretic days of the 70's) he suggested praying a memorare for DJT and/or the Pope. So much better than giving way to wrath. I agree. I am trying hard to do it.
