The military presence in DC seems way over the top for a virtual inauguration. Even with threats it is way over the top. These days you have to believe what your eyes tell you.
10,000 troops plus the media = about 9,950 more than Joe could get to attend any of his rallies. No hecklers because all the media reps will be cheering for him. Aren't they all party activists anyway?
That is the whole point. There was a novel decades ago called "The Devil's Advocate". A military government took over the US. After years a reble movement grew. Long story short, the leaders of the rebellion were actually high ups in the government, who were purposefully oppressing the people even more and more, with the goal of finally encouraging the people to rebel. In this case, their point and purpose is to foment violence, which will be blamed on conservatives and used as an excuse for further suppression of those who don't follow their plans or orders.

Yes.. there is no more respect not just for Trump but for the seat of president. Where are the days when they would interrupt television programs when the president had something to say?
