I guess they uphold the 11th commandment "thou shalt not tweet," more seriously than "Thous Shalt not Kill." (Obviously sarcasm there...) I can't remember who said it, but I remember hearing a clergyman saying something to the tune of the church needs to be less concerned with open boarders, illegal immigration and social justice, until innocent helpless lives are no longer slaughtered legally. What really gets me is how Pope Francis comes out with these encyclicals about respecting human life, climate change and fair economies, but never mentions abortion and euthanasia. I pray for him at the end of my Rosary often. I cant help but to think of FR. Altman's video where he says something to the tune of, "There will be 60 million plus babies at the gates of Heaven baring your Democrat entrance." Paraphrased from the video below at approximately 4:15 mark. It is sad that the church appears to loose her moral compass. Not all Christians are Catholic, but think of the moral aptitude and glory of the chair of Peter, that the entire world displays when a Pope passes away or makes a statement that touches the world. I remember when Pope ST. John Paul the II past away. Every Christian church in my area, Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, etc. prayed for him. I attest this to the fact that the Catholic church at that time did uphold a moral value that the world and its leaders looked upon. Now not so much. Think of how many leaders, many not even Christian, line up to shake the hand of the Popes. The church used to be a beacon of light in the darkest of nights. Now, I'm not sure what sort of beacon its portraying. Prayers for the church and its leaders.
I get nauseous trying to listen to Kamala. Ugh! Our neighbor just loves her. Thinks she is so nice and so pretty. This was the absolutely wrong person to nominate as VP for Biden. I pray God changes her inside so she will be with Him in Heaven. It is really hard to pray for her.
It is an epic Catholic tragedy, and sadly it is happening in my own family. They have locked in their votes for Biden, and they truly believe everything that MSM puts out there; totally brainwashed. Their hatred for President Trump overrides the Fifth Commandment, and they feel perfectly justified in casting their votes for Biden because they believe it is for the greater good. I am worried for their souls, and I pray that God will have mercy on them.
Today I find myself wondering what it would take for God to allow once and for all to completely expose evil within our beloved Catholic Church- for all the world to see. The abuse scandals over the decades; the slaughter and genocide of Catholics and Christians the world over throughout the centuries including the current crisis in Asia and the Middle East; even the current abdication of Church authority in China have all collectively made no impact whatsoever on the corruption that is rampant within our Church. With the number of abortions exceeding 60 million worldwide over the last several decades I can see no other ‘collective evil’ standing in direct conflict with God’s Commandments and the Moral centerpiece of the Church- to respect AND protect all life from conception to natural death and to guide all people of good will to life eternal in heaven with His Son Jesus. Perhaps this is what it is going to take for God to truly expose just how evil and corrupt the “Shepards” have become. Not only have we seen idolatry enter into the gates of Jesus’ Garden -even condoning it- but now we have Catholic leaders permitting and even suggesting that we the laity side with politicians that promise more abortion even up to and including after birth. If God can’t open our eyes collectively with the evil happening right in front of us currently, I fear nothing can. I pray for a true awakening for all our leaders. Are there no more Men of good will left within our Church leadership?
I am living this tragedy too. Julia is right. Sensum fidellium just uploaded Fr Collins' homily "catholicsvoting for barrabas"---it is excellent. Lays it out point by point.
Find the senses fidellium homily just posted called--i think--"catholics voting for barrabbas." It addresses all of this.
Since 1980 over 1.5 billion inocent children have been killed by abortion worldwide. An estimated 150 million to 1 billion people have died in war over the entire course of human history. Abortion has killed more people since 1980 than every single war combined since the begining of the human race!
This statistic alone tells me we will be blessed indeed to be spared what Our Lady of Akita foretold. Hoping and praying that Abraham's "10 good men" can be found in our world to stay the Father's Hand.
I don't think the Catholic Church is respected anymore. It's the church of shame acceptance. When a Priest can video tape pornography of two women desecrating the altar it goes beyond the pale. When they are lukewarm to abortion, it goes beyond the pale. It's time for Jesus to return to do some serious housecleaning, the world has gone back to paganism. God help us.
I read an article about that desecration, and I was sorry I did. A blasphemy so horrific it made me ill. The altar has since been burned. Yes Katfalls, I don't see how the Church can be respected. So sorrowful.
Me too.. as soon as I realized what I was reading, I stopped and left the page.. I know we read what's happening around the world and read the news, watch the news and talk about it, however I cannot handle reading that what makes me cringe.... and I"ve come to the point that I don't want to hear or read about specific evil going on- in general I can still handle it but when it gets specific with detailed events that transpired, there is no benefit as the thought and image penitrate the mind just for that split second and evil has had victory because somehow it shook us. There's a doctor who qas recently arrested for s..l abuse in the town literally 3 km from my home. My sister-in-law could not understand why I didn't want to talk about it. She kept talking even though I had told her I did not want to hear about it. When she only heard silence in the phone she wondered if I was till there. And again I told her I didnt want to hear it and she insisted..but why not? Its starting to be an issue for me now evem with my children because people talk about the news, naturally, but I want to leave the room... I'm not sure any more how to handle it. Evil is reality, but I refuse to give the devil any time.
I hear you Fede, you just want to turn it all off but it’s always in your face. Once you hear or see something evil it is hard to undo, I try to pray it away from my mind. Awful.
