Sunnyveil, Thanks. I have watched this in the past and I re-watched it last night per your suggestion. I think that the discussion on Zionism is interesting but I have some reservations on a few things that Brother Andre Marie stated in the video. Here are my thoughts about the video. Like Br. Andre Marie, I choose the kingship of Jesus Christ but I disagree with Br. Andre Marie on his point of a 2-state solution for Israel. In the past, I thought that this would bring peace to the situation in Israel but I no longer think that this alone is going to bring about peace there. Jesus Christ said love thy neighbor as yourself, I don't believe that there was other criteria added into this statement. Humankind has continued to wage war on each other regardless of what national borders are in place and btw, I do not support war in any shape or form. I still think it is possible that God does not want the land of Israel to be split up or maybe a better way for me to express what I mean is that possibly all of the pieces are in place now for the Biblical end times to truly begin. Of course, we also know that God wants us to co-exist with each other peacefully regardless of the human borders that we create. As Brother Andre eventually states in this video, the messiah has come but the Jews just have not accepted Jesus Christ as the messiah yet and we know that many will before the Second Coming because our Catechism states this. Our Catechism does not state anything about a 2-state solution for the land of Israel, correct? Since Brother Andre brings up the USA in this video, I wonder what Br. Andre Marie suggests for the USA. Should we surrender the entire land of the USA to the surviving Native Americans to make up for the fact that some Europeans displaced them? I think that most people would think this idea is completely ridiculous. I also wonder what Brother Andre's thoughts are about Christopher Columbus, for instance. The University Of Notre Dame recently has decided to cover up artwork of Christopher Columbus because the university feels that the artworks "conceal another side of Columbus: the exploitation and repression of Native Americans."* Meanwhile, there is very little discussion that one of the main objectives of Christopher Columbus was to evangelize the Catholic Faith. As a result, his exploration has helped to spread the gospel to the four corners of the Earth which is also something that we know needs to occur before the Second Coming. It is worth mentioning that Matthew speaks of this along with a reference to the apparent fruition of the scriptures of Daniel occurring before the end but I think that Brother Andre appears to think that the Daniel's scriptures will not come to fruition. How far back in time would it be necessary for us to go to "right things" the way that Brother Andre seems to be suggesting? I wonder how Brother Andre pictures the world in order for us to live peacefully together? You may not see this as I do and that is fine but imo Brother Andre Marie is suggesting something very similar to what the Zionists are suggesting. He states that the Zionists believe that they should support the Jews in obtaining and protecting the land of Israel for themselves, Brother Andre on the other hand has decided that the Palestinians should be given a nation in part of the land of Israel. Hi Carol, I just think the more facts we have and the more Catholic our perspective is the better we can understand Israel. I was ignorant of all of this until a few years ago. These are the questions that made me seek answers: Why the heck did we invade Iraq? Why did the US support ISIS in Syria? Why was the Arab Spring touted as a wonderful thing by all the mainstream media? None of this made sense to me especially as Christians were one of the groups that suffered most from this warmongering. Often they were slaughtered by radical Muslims when previously, under a strong dictator, they had been able to live in peace. If, as Br. Andre posits, much of this is attributable to Israel not wanting strong leaders in the Mideast, it's just plain evil. If it's true, it follows what E. Michael Jones calls the Jewish revolutionary spirit. Personally, I don't know the best solution for Israel and the Palestinians. As Br. Andre says Israel has a right to exist. Unfortunately, the Palistineans will have little clout in these negotiations with the US, so I don't think it will turn out well for them. Given the history, I don't see how it can be God's ordaining will that Israel exists. It's the Protestants who've created the heresy that Israel should exist to hasten the End Times and the Second Coming. As Brother Andre says, many Catholics have wrongly bought in to this idea.
Suunyveil, The best solution is that the whole world stops fighting and looking for any excuse to fight, to hate etc. I wish that Brother Andre Marie made a point of this in his video and suggested that we pray for peace as Our Blessed Mother has told us time and time again. I also wish that Brother Andre had discussed Matthew 24:14-15 which references the prophecies of Daniel in regard to the Second Coming, this is crucial and I would have also liked for him to have discussed the Woman Clothed With The Sun from Revelation 12.
