If you could wave a magic wand, would you reverse the changes of Vatican II?

Gotta say I really hate the sound of guitars at Mass. it is so 1970’s. I LOVE plain chant. I have CDs that I play of those wonderful chants.

Malachi Martin has some pithy things to say about Bugnini. Commenting on how Bignini created this new protestantized Mass he said “ah yes Anabale Bugnini. He has since died. Well if he didn’t know it then (what a terrible thing he had done) he knows it now.”

It isn't so much the guitars as the songs that go with them. For example, how would Holy God We Praise Thy Name fit with a guitar accompaniment?

I'll never understand why they got rid of the altar rails. Was kneeling to receive Jesus really a stumbling block to people's faith or to spreading the faith?

Every person I know who lived pre-Vat 2 has the same opinion as yourself about altar rails.
I don’t understand why they took them down either.

We ought to bring back the kneelers to receive the Eucharist and the Mass should be said ad orientum if at all possible.
I enjoy very much the NO Mass, however these two things bother me.

Also, I have a reminder for all on this topic. I asked the gentleman in charge of Youth education in my diocese about stats for those 18-29 regarding what tends to be their draw and what keeps them in church. He directed me to google synod2018. Sure enough...there is a wealth of information to be found there. Much preparation is being done for their benefit. It does greatly include their input, as I have seen in my parish bulletin.

My understanding of this is to impress the intimacy between ourselves and Christ in the Blessed Sacrament. While I have seldom received while kneeling, with my love of Adoration, I do greatly appreciate the desire to alter posture in that way.

Well, yesterday I came across the following video entitled "Where will the synod lead us to?" from September of 2015,

From the video I give you the following two quotes from Bishop Athanasius Schneider.

At the 37:28 min. mark: "It is our duty, our first duty to be faithful to the words of God, to the revelation and when we are observing that the truths of God, not our opinion but the truths of God, his words, are in danger to be changed, we have to - we have to stand up and raise our voice. Otherwise, Christ will judge us - 'why have you been silent', 'why have you not confessed me in front of the - of man'."

At the 38:30 min. mark: "And the Second Vatican Council taught that the faithful has the duty even, not only the right, but the duty to manifest their desires to the hierarchy when it is some - an issue belonging to the faith and very important for the Church, for the benefit of the Church. And so we are - we have with this filial appeal only fulfilled what the Second Vatican Council taught. And so we have joined a good number of bishops - the filial appeal of the faithful. And so we have to be really one Church as one family; the faithful, the priests, and the bishops, and the Pope - we are one family. And this filial appeal was signed not only by lay people but priests, bishops, cardinals signed this filial appeal. It is a very beautiful manifestation of our spirit of family in the Church."

So based on what Bishop Athanasius Schneider has stated above, I think that the Second Vatican Council was fruitful and I am reminded of what Our Lady of Garabandal stated in regard to this council which can be found on the following links, http://whatisgarabandal.blogspot.com/2010/02/from-thomas-fahy-beautiful-positive-and.html and https://whatisgarabandal.wordpress....ive-and-comforting-garabandal-and-vatican-ii/

Are you saying that people actually used to pray for their loved ones who died? o_O

I voted for reversal of the many changes on the basis that the great majority of these changes were not the result of the Council per se, but of the 'spirit of Vatican II' opportunists who descended like vultures when they saw an opening.

My vote might be different if Vatican II, as originally intended, was implemented. That is not going to happen now, I believe, because this Council is already obsolete.
