I'm going through a tough time emotionally. I'm worried about my family's salvation, I'm the only one that goes to Mass and the sacraments. I hate it when I offend God, and I try my best to not fall into the same old habits. (gossiping when in the company of others). I really, really could do with some prayers. I pray the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplets, but my mind often wanders when I pray. Please remember me and my family in your prayers. I love reading the posts in this Forum, gives me a spiritual lift. God Bless.
I will pray Miriam. Padre Pio said, 'Pray and trust ' and I suppose that's and fasting is just about all anyone can do. I also suppose that there is not a Catholic on the face of the planet who does not have concerns about family members so dark have things got. I will prayer round at the Poor Clares Convent shortly for you and yours....I am in the same fix, believe me with my own family. But I trust Our Lady to drag them under, between or over those golden gates. Abba Anthony said to Abba Poimen that this is the great work of man: always to reproach himself for his own faults before God, and expect temptation until the last breath. The same said, No one can enter the Kingdom of Heaven untempted. He said, Remove the temptations, and no one would be saved.
Aw thank you Padraig, bless you! I prayed before the Blessed Sacrament at Mass this evening for everyone's intentions, and especially for the repose of the soul of you're neighbour Cormac - may he Rest In Peace! You're right, there isn't a home that doesn't have members who have strayed from God - I love Our Lady, she's helped me so much over the years. My Mom is an ex-protestant and she so loves Our Lady, my Mom said that anything she ever asked of Her, she got!
Miriam, you remind me that I do not worry enough about my family. You pray for me and I promise to pray for you and all of our forum family.
Let's all get in this together as it seems we are all in the same boat. I will pray for yours on this board and you pray for mine.
Miriam, try praying a binding prayer before you begin your prayers. I learned this from Lee, and it has worked amazingly well. I find I have so many fewer distractions when I bind the thoughts to the cross.
My pregnant daughter is OK now --the racing heartrate only lasted a couple of days and I'm sure the prayers helped her.It could return but the doc. said it could happen in pregnancy. She was a labor/delivery nurse herself and it was not something common. Also the toddler had hand, foot and mouth disease but is all better also. Now we await the new arrival to be induced July,9 2012. Keep her in your prayers and thanks from Eastern Canada. They were here today and cheer is great!
Miriam, thank You, Jesus and Mary! A binding prayer is a prayer in which you ask Jesus to bind to His cross the distractions, the evil ones who try to keep you from praying. Just ask Him to take care of this in that way. Usually for me, it works!
