It's Trump who uttered these words which incited and encourage violence by stoking it up. That was quite frankly unacceptable as a POTUS in my view. I have been to Northern Ireland where rioting took place back in 70's as young tot. Its frightening and full of brutality by the British army especially the para regiment. Other day, I saw para at the border where they were trying to provoke us and incite violence. They were trying to get us arrested. But woman told us stop it and stand back. She was on way to lough derg that time. I realised it later that she was right. Violence was unacceptable so was DJT 's words too. DJT should have kept his gob shut.

The people he was referring to was/are the people that are destroying and looting and murdering people. They ARE thugs. The fact that the left has decided to racially charge that word does not change the facts. His tweet is correct. The violent rioting is not honoring the memory of George Floyd. Burning down shops indiscriminately does not honor George Floyd. It does not "show us" the problem with some police. Murdering people, whether by police or private citizen is indeed wrong. President Obama referred to them the exact same way in 2015 at the Baltimore riots. Pray for LONDON. People are intent on staging protests (and no doubt riots) there now. I'm okay with protest *here* (never riots), as this concerns an AMERICAN. Antifa might get a rude awakening in certain parts of London, where I hear some folks like slinging acid or big machetes.

On Saturday, he gloated about “the most vicious dogs, and most ominous weapons” awaiting protesters outside the White House, should they ever break through Secret Service lines. Trump’s response to the last three ghastly months of mounting disease and death has been just as heedless. Since claiming Covid-19 was a “Democratic hoax” and muzzling public health officials, he has punted management of the coronavirus to the states. Governors have had to find ventilators to keep patients alive and protective equipment for hospital and other essential workers who lack it, often bidding against each other. A Black official (Congress?), I can't recall her name (so much to try and keep track of), did mention dogs being loosened on MLK-era protesters; comparison. When I read of Pres. Trump's Tweet (I don't read his feed directly), and he said "when the looting starts, the shooting starts" -- I did interpret that as he meant the National Guard will start shooting (not business owners). Follow-up information incidentally came my way that (supposedly) the National Guard cannot fire on civilians. I will agree that Pres. Trump is sometimes irresponsible in how he phrases things. Certain comments can be "taken either way." That is NOT good. I wish he'd gotten off social media the moment he announced running for President in 2016, and stayed off.
