I'm having real difficulties with the muscles of my left hip. While I have a couple of real answers, I'm not settled yet. I still have pain that interferes with my daily life. I'm told I have moderate arthritis and a pinched psiatic nerve. I've been debating on an MRI for a complete picture. I ask for prayers for a real resolution. Thank you!
I had issues with my sacral joint which joins the hip to the sacrum. If your insurance covers it, an MRI is the best tool. Do you have a good doctor? I go to a brain and spine practice which is excellent. I will pray for your real resolution.
I have to send you a big hug for that. Thank you! Yes, it would be covered on a referral. I might also prefer a 2nd opinion of a different orthopedic doctor. The one I saw was convinced the problem was exclusively arthritis. I told him my worst pain was a 5 but without a pinched nerve I shouldn't have pain, maybe.
Sometimes pinched nerves can resolve with physical therapy No harm in getting second opinion The pain might not be the arthritis They thought that originally in my case Look up SI joint dysfunction Or SI joint pain Don’t get carried away with trying to diagnose yourself though
That's part of why the Chiropractor is certain it's sciatic. His kinetic tests and my symptoms tell him.
Prayers for you Joan. I don't have a problem with sciatica, but I have pinched the nerve a few times and I know how bad the pain can be.
I am going out to mass this morning I will pray on the way down and up to Our Lady and offer up my mass.
I get bouts of sciatica from time to time, caused by a damaged disc in my lower back. Sciatica is not a medical problem on its own but is a symptom of a medical problem. See this website for an explanation: https://www.mountsinai.org/health-library/diseases-conditions/sciatica It took an MRI scan to discover what was causing my sciatica. The pain can be excruciating. I will pray for you.
The MRI would help confirm or exclude a pinched nerve(s). Since you are covered with insurance, go for it. Will pray for you.
Nope, no back issue . The discomfort is elsewhere interfering with range of motion, endurance in walking/hiking, definite weakness in the muscles related to the hip, sitting, etc.
I went in to have a steroid shot in my hip, but the doctor asked me a few questions and had me do an exercise and he determined right then that it was not my hip but my SI joint. That is where he put the steroid shot. He was right, in my case.
