Thirty-four. We married young, but the years slip by... Thanks again to all who have offered their prayers, wishes and love. The neurologists still haven't gotten to the bottom of what still remains a puzzling illness, seemingly not what had seemed obvious at all. I will be posting infrequently over the next few days, as I'll be with my wife and daughter in the hospital, and I'll have no internet access, so do not be alarmed if there are no reports appearing.
I wanted to say a little prayer for her but wasn’t sure how to pronounce her name (ah those “impossible “ Irish names!!! How many silent letters do you need!). Thanks to all again. Aoife is improving, but still not yet fully recovered. She has had an x-ray, a ct, an eeg and an mri, but nothing neurological has shown up. We're beginning to think it might have been an extreme panic attack, which can manifest physically and can be almost indistinguishable from an epileptic seizure. Aoife's emotions are all over the place and she is unable to articulate the issues. She has lost her sheltered job and the associated friends, her beloved dog, her holidays, everything she could look forward to, during or because of this lockdown. To think, there are so many like her. This house arrest is inhuman.
It is heartrending. Someone very dear to me is in a similar situation although not completely isolated from her former contacts and she still has her dog. Her sheltered job and some of her other activities have stopped and it doesn't look like they will be resuming any time soon. Will keep praying that all turns out well for Aoife. Please God all the tests will be clear.
I just saw this, DeGaulle. I will offer the rosary and Mass tomorrow morning for your family and sweet girl. It's twice the pain when our babies suffer, the price of true love I think.
