You give a great account of your prison story here, very interesting. Some of these videos should be on TV, maybe some day they will. Can I put in a request for more in the future about the troubles era if its not too stressful.
Wondering at the moment does God want me living where I'm living for the forseeable future. I've been here 9 years, one bedroom apartment. It is very nice but I would like to know does God want me to stay here long term? I was blessed to get the place I am in now. Accommodation in Ireland is very hard to find at the moment and rents are very expensive.
Sorry it's just been something I have been pondering for quite a while and am looking for clarity around it!

Several times lately I wanted to move from the city to the country for a bit of peace and quiet. Only yesterday my brother emailed me about a bungalow right beside him in the mountains. I think the one thing we have to ask, especially in the case of such big decisions in such matters is; what is the Will of God in this? If we can discern the Will of God we can rest our hearts in this and be happy. ur own hearts nestling totally in His. But how to discern? Through prayer certainly, peaceful prayer, like Our Lady, storing all things in our Hearts, a humble hand maid always ready to say, 'I will'. But God is not remote He speaks through the Winds of this World through the practicalities. I decided not to move for the following reasons. I want always of possible to receive the Eucharist daily, in the city this is easy, in the country doing shift work this would be impossible. It would palce too much strain on me travelling from the country to the city to work each day. It would put me in debt which i don;t really need. So I stay till I retire. So God speaks to us in the Winds of the World. Pray and look to the Holy SPirit blowing in the Winds of the World around you. Never be afraid to ask Our Blessed Lady and your Guardian angel to send you a little sign if you wish, they are ever willing to do so.

I think they started off well but some of the critics say they are like a cult. I have a vague memory of accusations of liturgical abuse which was corrected by the Vatican in Pope Benedict's time but that's a very vague memory of something I read about them. I saw one or two videos of their Masses on YouTube. It looked very happy-clappy - not my cup of tea but the Church permits it so I suppose it must be ok.

Excellent video Padriag, I love the footage of bundoran, where I also went to on holidays as a young lad with my family. The story of when the two men were coming to kill you reminded my of stories I heard when black and tans used to show up to kill my grandfather but he was on the run, unfortunately those left behind suffered greatly while being interrogated. My Granduncle was in the North Monaghan flying column during the War of Independence. I hear the Black and Tans came to the farm he hid under the hay. The tans started sticking a pitchfork through the hay to check and one of the prongs went through his leg. He did not cry out as they would have killed him if they heard. He managed to escape. I loved the film, 'The Wind that Shakes the Barley'. But since they introduced abortion today I really wonder what is the use of a country being, 'Free', if it is going to hell anyway?
I have long since been of the opinion that the only thing and person worth dying for is God and God's Church. All the rest so so much hooey. I suppose Patriotism is a good thing to love your country. But is there a country in the world today that loves God and does God's Will? Is it possible then to love a county that is an against God; that is God's enemy? How can we ask God to Bless a country that has given way to evil? How can we expect that He do so? Ireland and other countries are Under God's Judgement and all await His wrath. A wrath and Judgement which will shortly fall upon our heads, the good and wicked alike. Sigh . We lay folk , many of us, understand that fully. Our Clergy however appear totally oblivious. Our Governments certainly so; being blinded by their evil. They are about , however to get a very,very rude awakening. We all are.
I know its terrible, Ireland is gone, the leadership are owned , its a takeover, the devil is in control. Some of the stuff going on here you couldn't make up, the abortion bill for killing babies is celebrated the week before Christmas. Its so saddening, what will the punishment be. Our government signed the UN migration pact without even a mention to the people. Will our punishment be terrorists, increased crime, fire. Its all deserved. I have to say today I am very sad. The only thing that picked me up today was the news that the Clinton foundation is being investigated.
I will not believe Ireland is gone, Indy. There are pockets of purity where the pureness of faith lives and thrives - such as in your heart. OL of Knock will save your country, maybe not all of it, but everything that survives the fires of purification. That said, I understand your sorrow and despair. It is my turn to hold you up in prayer.
There used to be a very saintly Father in the Monastery who did the gardening. He taught be to prune the very beautiful Tea Roses one year. He taught me to prune them back very,very hard indeed, in fact so hard I thought I had killed them all. But he insisted. But next year , sure enough, they came back next year bigger and more beautiful than ever. We see this is Scripture with the Chosen people. They ran wild from time to time and God has to prune them back very,very hard. So hard in fact that it looked like he killed them all. But later they grew back stronger than ever. It is like this with us , we are about to be pruned very,very strongly indeed. But at the end we will grow back better than ever. But we will indeed as this proceeds say with the voice of scripture. Proverbs 2:22 But the wicked will be cut off from the land And the treacherous will be uprooted from it. The Irish government needs to be pruned vigorously and anything left at the roots doused with roundup!
