I have roughly 3 years under my belt and have been led by the spirit to switching schools from a school in Boston to a catholic college to study sociology. I was studying sociology& crime and justice. I am 27 and was wondering what schools as well you might know of that would give me a good financial aid package. It seems like some of the more orthodox catholic schools are very expensive. Thank anyone who has taken a look at this. Through the Immaculate Heart of Mary to Jesus.
I've heard really good things about University of Dallas. And even though not a Catholic U, Texas A&M has a strong, conservative Catholic community. It's catholic student program has produced many excellent priests. It is also reported to have more Catholics than Notre Dame.
Thank you. I have looked on holy apostles college and seminary's site. I have been thinking of the priesthood or to become a deacon. I made the step of talking to a priest today. I'm not getting any younger at 27.
What a brave and courageous step. I will be keeping you in prayer as you discern where God is calling you. Peace.
I'm hoping to go on a pilgrimage to medjugorje at the end or after the summer. I have to fill out the fafsa soon as well. Thank you.
My niece graduated from the University of Dallas. Before she went there I had never heard of it. I didn't know it was a Catholic college. As it turns out it is very conservative and Catholic. She is currently working there and told me although it is expensive they do offer good financial aid programs. She also said that if you call the admissions counselors they are pretty helpful and honest about the strengths and weaknesses of their programs. Good luck and I will add you to my prayers. God Bless!
I don't know what your ultimate plans may be C-S-P but the Financial Aid Package sounds, to me, like a big problem!! With three years of College under your belt you, I believe, are not going to find much ... Out of State ... in Catholic Colleges or otherwise! ...... & DO NOT saddle yourself with ridiculous debt!! Finish your Degree in the Democrat People's Republic of MA, get a job, pay-off your debts ... and, then, follow your bliss!! GOD SAVE ALL HERE!!
you might want to check out the young adults group of St Clements Eucharistic Shrine in boston. they are a group serious about their faith and I think you would find great fellowship with them. It is also social too, as they met after mass last Sunday for breakfast. They are sponsored by the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, who pastor the shrine. The Oblates are very marion and the seminarians at the shrine are very marion too. I know you are kind of a hike from Boston, but it might be well worth your time to try to get to their group meetings a couple times a month to meet like minded people who may be discerning similer paths as you. http://www.stclementshrine.org http://www.stclementyoungadults.org
I've been to there group and feel like god maybe calling me to the next step in my journey after 3 to 4 years after my initial conversion. My confessor passed on and it has taught me to trust more.
