It is interesting that corporate news sites have all but deleted public comments to their articles these days. https://news.yahoo.com/black-lives-matter-blames-cuba-122530452.html A snip of the article; The BLM statement suggests the protestors are rejecting the unfairness of the U.S. moratorium on trade with Cuba, which it claims has yielded inadequate medical supplies and COVID vaccines, despite chants in the street for “Libertad” and other slogans repudiating the authoritarian regime of president Miguel Diaz-Canel. “Since 1962, the United States has forced pain and suffering on the people of Cuba by cutting off food, medicine and supplies, costing the tiny island nation an estimated $130 billion,” the statement read. “The people of Cuba are being punished by the U.S. government because the country has maintained its commitment to sovereignty and self-determination,” it adds.
BLM heads met with Maduro of Venezuela, at least one of them I believe is a founder of BLM: The Holy Father canonized Dr. Jose Gregorio Hernandez (?) recently, So, Venezuela hasn't made a total enemy of the Catholic Church. The initial stage of former Venezuelan president's Hugo Chavez's cancer at first was quelled, recovered from for what that mean. And Chavez gave thanks to St. Doctor Gregorio. That's a statue of Doctor Jose Gregorio Hernandez he holds here: Misión médica José Gregorio Hernández: trabaja por y para todos | Noticias | teleSUR (telesurtv.net) It seems Venezuela is going both ways a bit on Catholicism but not the persecution as has been in Cuba and other countries. Venezuela does have big problems, people dying because they can't get there medicine, I've heard of that happening.
The only embargo is the one the Communist Cuban government inflicts on its own citizens. BLM is just another Marxist organization. Scary how so many follow them here in the USA.
The U.S. sends food and medicine constantly to Cuba. It’s the Cuban government that steals it from its citizens.
Yes. It's interesting that the Cubans themselves support the embargo against the Cuban government but our liberals here in the U.S. are spinning this big story to make it seem like Cubans' suffering is because of the U.S., not communism. Why are the protesters holding U.S. flags then? Since when did it become popular in America to defend communism over liberty? It's hard not to be infuriated over this. Trying to keep a spiritual perspective and a love for our enemies in my heart is very hard in the face of so much evil, lies, ignorance, and virtue-signaling. I must spend more time praying and less time watching people talk about world events.
A few years ago, just about the time when Cuba opened its borders to tourists, a young man from a Washington, DC, news station was allowed to fly to Cuba to cover the news there. It so happened that his grandmother or elderly aunt was living in Cuba and he was able to visit her. It corroborates what Booklady said: his aunt had one dinner roll in her kitchen. That was all she had to eat.
There is no such thing as a trade embargo with Cuba, or as the PCC calls it "el Bloqueo." Cuba is a U.S. trade partner, albeit in cash, no credit. And that is how the marxists are defining "embargo", an embargo or the bloqueo is that the U.S. is not giving them stuff on credit, IOW for free. Go to a military owned grocery stuff and you will find Heinz ketchup, 7-up, and other American products, but the Cuban has to pay in dollars to buy these. The Bloqueo/embargo cognitive dissonance is overwhelming. Cuba has no money to build housing for its people, But where do they get the money to build world class luxury hotels ? I'm not talking about hotels owned by the Italians or Spanish, I mean by the Cuban Military and the PCC. Who are Cuba's 2020-21 trade partners? Cuba’s main trading partners are Venezuela, China, Canada, Spain, Brazil, the Netherlands, the United States, México, Italy, France, Germany and Russia. Thank you, I didn't understand this! I've been trying to learn more about the recent history of Cuba but it's really hard to find a good, truthful source!
