This is an excellent post. You say so clearly what I feel in my own heart. I too can turn righteous indignation into something ugly if I am not careful. I try to forgive continuously those who are doing evil or misguided things and pray for them because I have been generously forgiven by Jesus--from the Cross for doing my own evil and misguided things. And I know He expects me to forgive these souls and pray for their salvation. My own salvation depends on it. For all of us really. We pray it in the Our Father. We ask the Father to forgive us as we forgive others. A serious somber prayer.

I agree with you 100%. We can really get into trouble when we forget that our own salvation depends on doing reparation for our own sins, praying for those we have hurt by our sinfulness, and praying for those who have hurt us by their sinfulness.
We must forgive others if we want to be forgiven. There but for the grace of God go I.

Pro-abortion Senator Dick Durbin has announced he will decline the Lifetime Achievement Award from the Archdiocese of Chicago after strong backlash from U.S. bishops over honoring a lawmaker who supports abortion.

    Info: Chicago archdiocese.

May Durbin repent and make reparation for his direct role in the Mass murder of the unborn. There are many Herods like him.

..and two Herod's who appear to have sat on the Throne of Peter. False shepherds and Apostate heretics.

Total horror. But at least he is out in the open. I'd love to see the Pope splainers explain away this one. A, @Pope', who attacks prolifers including his own most senior clergy whilst defending a radical pro abort and pro LGBTQ politician in public?

Is the irony not lost on these people that to give a "lifetime achievement" award to a pro-abortionist is an oxymoron. It is an insult to the innocents slaughtered in a holocaust who never see life beyond the womb. There is no lifetime for the aborted.

    Words fail me.

If you are against abortion but for the death penalty you are not prolife (Pope Leo).

So Pope John Paul II was not prolife. The whole Church before Pope Francis down through the ages was not prolife.
