Whoever thought we'd have a tweeting pope? But we do, so I follow him. Here's the one from today: Follow Benedict XVIVerified@Pontifex At the end of the year, we pray that the Church, despite her shortcomings, may be increasingly recognizable as Christ’s dwelling place.
Persecution by the world is a sign that the pope and the Church are on the right side. If that persecution should suddenly stop, then I'll be worried! Demons recognize the authority of the Church and the pope . . . and they hate them them for that reason. I'm convinced that in these days we live in, more people than ever have fallen under demonic influence. Many people don't understand that their thoughts and emotions are being manipulated by unseen forces. The mobs of hatred are mobs of mindless beasts, easily worked into a violent frenzy, and the slightest provocation can make them attack.
I see the President of Israel was about the first to tweet back, which is kinda nice. Peres, 89, tweeted on Tuesday, "Your holiness, welcome to Twitter. Our relations with the Vatican are at their best and can form a basis to further peace everywhere."
