Don linked a video on the Coronavirus thread. The video is some Protestant, possibly Evangelical, ministers discussing various matters among which was the coronavirus and population control. One of the panelists recalled reading a report in the Times of London about some of the world's richest people meeting to discuss ways to curb overpopulation. I did a search for the newspaper report and found it on the Times website but it's behind a paywall. The meeting was held on May 5, 2009. Here's another report about it from John Harlow of Los Angels published on the Global Research website: https://www.globalresearch.ca/billionaire-club-in-bid-to-curb-overpopulation/13736

I'm not sure whether it would be illegal to copy and paste the text of the article because it is copyrighted. Points made in the article were:

    • The meeting was the initiative of Microsoft's Bill Gates for whom overpopulation was a priority.
    • The meeting was convened to discuss joining forces to overcome political and religious obstacles to change.
    • Participants included: Bill Gates, David Rockefeller Jnr., Wallen Buffet, George Soros, Michael Bloomberg who was the Mayor of New York, Ted Turner who founded CNN, and Oprah Winfrey.
    • The billionaires met to discuss how to use their wealth to slow the growth in the world's population and speed up improvements in health and education.
    • There was a lot of secrecy surrounding the meeting because they wanted to speak "rich to rich" without what they said ending up in the newspapers "painting them as an alternative world government".
    • A consensus emerged that they would back a strategy in which population growth would be tackled as a potentially disastrous environmental, social and industrial threat.

From the report: "The issues debated included reforming the supervision of overseas aid spending to setting up rural schools and water systems in developing countries. Taking their cue from Gates they agreed that overpopulation was a priority. This could result in a challenge to some Third World politicians who believe contraception and female education weaken traditional values. Gates, 53, who is giving away most of his fortune, argued that healthier families, freed from malaria and extreme poverty, would change their habits and have fewer children within half a generation."

That meeting was held in 2005, years before the election of Pope Francis yet it wouldn't have been out of place at the Vatican's conferences leading up to Laudato Si and especially the Amazon Synod.

The meeting was held in the London home of Sir Paul Nurse, a British Nobel prize biochemist, former President of the Royal Society, and president of the Rockefeller University. A self-declared sceptical agnostic, lifelong member of the British Labour Party and with Trotskyist sympathies, Nurse is reported as having expressed concern about the state of science teaching in the schools, which does not teach citizens how to discuss science – particularly in religious schools, even in the United Kingdom. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Nurse

While lots of people point at George Soros as the wizard behind the curtain, I'm struck by how often the name Rockefeller crops up in situations where there are internal divisions in the Catholic Church. For example, the infamous Fr. Hessburgh from Notre Dame served on the Rochefeller Foundation. Never direct interference, but the name does crop up a lot.

I suspect that Sr. Paul Nurse and Bishop Sanchez Sorondo among other prominent members or our current hierarchy and people "close to the Pope" are kindred spirits. Here's Nurse giving a lecture last December on the question "What is Life?":

They are not evangelical although like me their founder was brought up in protestant evangelical churches until he realized their error. If you go to their website they outline their beliefs. Thank you for researching that article. I was meaning to do it but have been very sick.

    What We Believe
    God

We believe in one God, existing eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; the Creator of heaven and earth.

    Bible
We believe the Holy Bible is the inspired Word of God, inerrant and complete.

    Doctrine
We believe in the Apostles’ Doctrine, the faith which was once delivered unto the Saints. It is the ancient doctrine believed everywhere, always, by everyone in the Early Church. We confess three creeds: Apostles’ Creed, Nicene Creed, and Athanasian Creed.

    Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God; that He came to earth as God in human flesh; and that He is the only way to God the Father. We believe that all people who repent of their sins against God and believe on the name of Jesus Christ as Savior shall be saved for eternity.

    Holy Spirit
We believe that all Believers in Jesus Christ shall receive the indwelling Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit convicts of sin, empowers for service, comforts and consoles, leads in truth, guides through wisdom, reveals things to come, and imparts spiritual gifts as He chooses for the glory of God, the edification of Believers, and as a testimony to the unsaved.

    Church
We believe that every Believer in Jesus Christ — all nationalities, races, ethnic groups, and Christian religious denominations — are members of the Body of Jesus Christ, the one, holy, universal, and apostolic Church.

    Sacraments
We believe Holy Communion (also known as the Thanksgiving Feast and the Eucharist) and Water Baptism are the two sacraments Jesus Christ divinely instituted in His Church.

    Matrimony
We believe that God established marriage as a divine institution, and is a holy covenant between God and one man and one woman.

We had to put down Devin within the last month; it was painful. I miss our morning runs and also find that old habits of closing closet doors and such die hard!:( No more warm body lying down on top of my feet in the evening!

    Safe in the Father's Arms!

Arrogant and demonic. Population control implies wiping out billions and tyrannically controlling the rest. One could not put anything past some of these people. One thing that is common among them all is that they never consider themselves as contributing to their alleged over-population. They'd be playing a very dangerous game with bioweapons, because like all living things, they would take on a life of their own and be wholly uncontrollable. They might not even be able to avoid infection themselves.

Good point, Don. However, as we now, God has created life forms with a life of their own. Viruses do not remain static. They change continually and recent discoveries in molecular biology seem to indicate that life is pre-programmed with numerous modes of operation to carry this out. An antidote against a virus today might not be effective tomorrow. These things are ongoing battles between immune systems and viral structure, are they not? Isn't the term 'opening Pandora's Box'? Megalomaniacs who think they are far more intelligent and capable than they actually are, who think indeed that they are gods, are likely to be as dangerous to themselves as to everyone else. Not that I'd be losing any sleep over them.

Indeed, the latest virus has given rise to all sorts of conspiracy theories. The only theory I haven't seen mentioned is the one where a government faced with an ageing population resulting from anti-life policies comes up with a virus which kills the old but not the young.

I think the virus came from the laboratory, probably due to carelessness. Someone working there could have been a carrier, possibly shopping in the market for days before showing any symptoms.

Sorry that you've been ill, Don, and I'll put you on top of my list of prayer intentions today.

I didn't watch all the video but it did strike me as strange that people who seemed to me to be Evangelicals saw through the rapture nonsense. At the same time they didn't come across as members of the mainstream Protestant denominations.

There were probably more people at the meeting than were named in the report. I didn't see any Rothschilds on the list of participants.

The meeting took place in 2009. How many religions taught then and continue to teach against artificial contraception?

Rich people deciding that their space is being invaded by poor people breeding like rabbits, so they have a plan and the money to fix it. All they need is the co-operation of a body with universal influence (the UN) and the right people heading the religion which has always been their stumbling block.

Would those people have enough influence to have the Vatican state cut off from the international banking system, prompting the resignation of a Pope who wasn't in line with their agenda and the election of a Pope who fully embraces it?

Is Jeffrey Sachs to all intents and purposes our de facto Pope? I'm not sure I can put my hand on heart and say "absolutely not". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jeffrey_Sachs

Here's David Rockefeller sounding the alarm on over population. The video was probably uploaded about 4 years ago although I don't know when he made the speech. Note that he wasn't offering to lead by example and save the earth from his carbon footprint. He died in 2017, aged 102.

The Vatican sent a representative to the latest Bilderberg gathering. That was a first for the Holy See. The Vatican's approach seems to be that it's better to have a seat at the table. If we're going to eat with sinners, best to eat with the richest and most powerful sinners. I'll bet they didn't have a take-away from Domino's.

Thankfully, the Holy Spirit can bring good from man's worst errors.

Hmm..very good question. Entirely possible there is an antidote, but of course their priority was killing people. If they do indeed have an antidote I am sure it would be reserved for special people.
I was sorry to hear that you aren't well, Don. I will add you to my prayers. Hope you feel better.
