" Cardinal Burke is my enemy." The first sentence reminds me of Khan (played by Ricardo Montalban), who also disliked his nemesis, Capt. Kirk: "To the last, I will grapple with thee... from Hell's heart, I stab at thee! For hate's sake, I spit my last breath at thee! "

He will be alive during the Warning, he is the 4th Pope prophesied. Which tells you we are close.

I have serious doubts about this; I don't think he will have the health conditions to travel to Moscow. In fact, the question about the number of popes after John xxiii is still controversial, as old books and websites prior to 2005 carried the information that the death of John Paul II would mark the beginning of the end times, signaling the interpretation of only 3 popes after John xxiii.

So if Cardinal Burke is his enemy, should not the Pope be praying for him and giving him his cloak and his tunic also? Notice the Pope does not mention that Cardinal Burke is the CHURCH'S enemy, or the FAITHFUL'S enemy....

To me Cardinal Burke is NOT the Pope's enemy, rather he has stood up as the spokesperson for all of the good faithful Catholics asking the Pope over and over to clarify his confusing statements about faith and doctrine. The Pope never once responded, although he will sit down with all of evil persons who hate the Church's teachings and discuss for months on end with them! Cardinal Burke was a huge blessing to my Diocese of LaCrosse and built the Shrine of our Lady of Guadalupe there. He has been good and faithful and never once badmouthed this Pope. He has touched the lives of every one he has come into contact with, always available to everyone in kindness. He loves our Lord and Lady and the Church so much. If this Pope feels he is giving Cardinal Burke a public humiliation, he doesn't know much about him at all!

Here is Glenn’s statement about the 4th Pope -
I was asked: “Why 8 days notice before the Miracle ? “
Mary never revealed exactly why she chose that number of days at Garabandal, but the number 8 is very significant in my opinion, and it is used 73 times in the Bible. It is the symbol of Resurrectionand Regeneration. In Bible numerology, 8 it denotes new beginning. Maybe that is why Mary remarked after the 4 popes, would be the “end of the times”, denoting a “new time” or era, would begin with the Warning and Miracle. We have another chance to live as God wants us to, (as he has shown us the error of our ways in the Warning), a new beginning.

"Thy Kingdom come Thy Will be done, on earth AS it is in Heaven", sounds like the fulfillment of the "Our Father" prayer to me.

Joey Lomangino believed in the chronology of 3 popes after John xxiii; He wrote an article in April 2005 on his website about the death of John Paul II and the prophetic meaning (end of an era) but unfortunately the website is not working, at least in my browser, otherwise I would post the article here.

This chronology of 3 popes ending with John Paul II is also in the book "She Went in Haste to the Mountain" by Eusebio Garcia de Pesquera.

The end times may have started with any Pope, it’s the 4th Pope that witnesses the Warning and Miracle. And the 4th is Pope Francis.

Tom, John is spot on with his explanation of the 4 popes. Mary first states 3 popes but immediately tells Conchita that she is omitting one of them because of his short papal reign ( so 3 +1 = 4 ) . Francis is the unnamed pope of the "the end of THE times era. So its 4 popes , then the separation of two eras . Here's several documentations on the 4.

"The seer employs this disconcerting expression for the first time on the 3rd of June 1963 : “it was the Virgin who said to me: “ After this Pope (St. John XXIII) ,only three remain, and then (will come ) the end of the times”.

But the Virgin immediately explains that “she wasn’t counting one of them”.

Conchita explains that one doesn’t count because “he would govern the Church for a very short time”. Pope John Paul I with his 33 day pontificate, fulfills this exception prediction.

From : “Garabandal: message of Hope”. Fr. Jose Luis Saavedra Pg 201
    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Albrecht Weber, the author of the book “The Finger of God“, had become involved in Garabandal in 1963 and became friendly with Conchita. On November 14, 1965, the day after the last apparition of Our Lady in Garabandal, Mr. Weber interviewed Conchita at her home in the presence of her mother. There was also present with Mr. Weber an interpreter. During that interview, it came out that when Conchita had spoken, on the very day that Pope John XXIII died, of “Three more Popes and then would come the end of the times,” her mother had asked her several questions.

In response to one of her mother’s questions, Conchita responded that Our Lady had actually said that there would be FOUR MORE POPES but that She was not counting one of them. When Conchita’s mother heard that she strictly forbade Conchita to repeat that again as her mother feared there would be erroneous interpretations and much gossip. People might wrongly believe that one of the Popes might be false or bad, etc. During that conversation with her mother, Conchita also said that Our Lady had told her that one of the Popes would have a very short reign. (which turned out to be Pope John Paul I only 33 days ! )
    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    THURSDAY, DECEMBER 20, 1962:

"Large snowflakes were falling in the early morning of December 20, 1962, when the Blessed Virgin of Mount Carmel, during an apparition of ninety minutes, revealed to Conchita that "after Pope John (XXIII), there will come three other Popes and after . . . No, four, for one of them would not really count, the Blessed Virgin told me!"

Exactly, Carmel333, this statement is fraught with emotion, that is why it surprised me.

I don't believe that the Pope uttered the words "Cardinal Burke is my enemy". Knowing the type of people surrounding him, I believe it possible that they gave him the impression that Cardinal Burke is one of those prelates who like their comfort and prestige. If that were the case, I believe that Pope Francis might have said he would take away Cardinal Burke's apartment and salary. I also believe that they like to portray people like Cardinal Burke as enemies of the Pope, giving the impression that Pope Francis's hands are tied, preventing him from changing Church doctrine on hot button issues. There are people on both sides of the divide in the Church who could see their interests being served by putting such a slant on what transpired at the meeting, especially when relating it to someone like Ann Barnhardt. I simply don't believe that Pope Francis actually called Cardinal Burke his enemy.

Not sure quite where to post this but I think it's very important. I read David Torkington's Peter Calvay books many years ago and felt there was something wonderful about them. I doubt I unpacked them all. His call to a renewed Tridentine spirituality is truly inspired. Do watch this to the end. It's a history lesson with some insights I had not considered, and explains how we got to today's situation in the church. 'Tridentine' refers to the Council of Trent and the hundred years of mystical theology which followed it, taking the church to a high point spiritually. He cites the Morning Offering, which parallels the Jewish Shema prayer that Our Lord would have learned from his mother. Torkington believes that the sexual scandals engulfing the church are a product of man-centered spirituality. The masters of prayer, such as John of the Cross and Teresa of Avila have been forgotten, and overdue for a revival. Only when we open up to a God-centered mindset, based on love, will be be equipped to fight against the modernist synod and much else.

I really do think that prayer from the heart is the only solution, including the rosary and Marian devotion.

I would like to think that Pope Francis would not go so far. I listened to Liz Yore's recent take down on Francis and the Synod. The folks in the Traditionalist camp and the LifeSite News camp are so far down the road of rejection that they mostly see this Papacy as unsalvageable. I will pray for His Holiness because:

Jerimiah 32:26 The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah: 27 “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too hard for me?"
