Their compassion is for their neighbor, but the Lord’s compassion reaches all flesh, Reproving, admonishing, teaching, and turning them back, as a shepherd his flock. He has compassion on those who accept His discipline, who are eager for His precepts. ~ Sirach 18: 13 – 14
PASCENDI DOMINICI GREGIS ENCYCLICAL OF POPE PIUS X ON THE DOCTRINES OF THE MODERNISTS The office divinely committed to Us of feeding the Lord's flock has especially this duty assigned to it by Christ, namely, to guard with the greatest vigilance the deposit of the faith delivered to the saints, rejecting the profane novelties of words and oppositions of knowledge falsely so called. There has never been a time when this watchfulness of the supreme pastor was not necessary to the Catholic body; for, owing to the efforts of the enemy of the human race, there have never been lacking "men speaking perverse things" (Acts xx. 30), "vain talkers and seducers" (Tit. i. 10), "erring and driving into error" (2 Tim. iii. 13).

E SUPREMI ENCYCLICAL OF POPE PIUS X ON THE RESTORATION OF ALL THINGS IN CHRIST 4 Oct 1903 We were terrified beyond all else by the disastrous state of human society today. For who can fail to see that society is at the present time, more than in any past age, suffering from a terrible and deeprooted malady which, developing every day and eating into its inmost being, is dragging it to destruction? You understand, Venerable Brethren, what this disease is - apostasy from God, than which in truth nothing is more allied with ruin, according to the word of the Prophet: "For behold they that go far from Thee shall perish" (Ps. 1xxii., 17).
It seems many have overlooked this other issue in the current pope’s recent statements. Pope signals openness to blessings for gay couples, study of women's ordination Francis has also suggested the question of women's ordination to the priesthood, controversially prohibited by Pope John Paul II in 1994, could be open to further study. https://www.ncronline.org/vatican/v...blessings-gay-couples-study-womens-ordination
I think reading the writings of Pope's over the last hundred years or so they could all for see we would reach this point. Certainly Fulton Sheen could. It is lovely and quiet in the woods this morning. I look with sadness on the other campers this morning. How many of them, even those with many children are even thinking of going to Church today? What a terrible, terrible desolation of soul it is not even to think of Church on Sunday. I was once like that and so know. Thank God now to have a deep hunger and joy and eagerness to go to brought those old Church doors. Please say a prayer for me . I took a pain in my back a bit below my ribs to the side.afew days ago and it has grown worse. I checked with the AI Doctor and he thought it might be a kidney infection or my gall bladder. I will head for home tomorrow to see a real doc.
Great post. And to go further... Ireland's people actually voted for it. Some countries had it 'imposed' upon them by their government (but later embraced it and/or where apathetic toward it). I caveat the first part of that paragraph however by stating that Northern Ireland - did not - vote for it. We had it imposed upon us despite many of the populace being opposed to its introduction here.
