Adolfo Suárez was not a communist. Not at all. In fact, he was Catholic. If this is affirmed because I legalize the Communist Party... In a democracy all options must be legalized, but he was not a communist. Nor is it true that he approved the abortion law, as Garabandal says. The abortion law was approved in Spain in 1985 with the socialist government of Felipe Gonzalez. Suárez was no longer president. Calling Pope Francis an "evil monster" exceeds legitimate criticism, in my opinion.

I didn't say he brought in the abortion law.

I did say he brought in the law that approved of contraception.

Suárez supported the legalization of divorce in Spain.

The Suarez government sent to the Cortes Generales a bill to decriminalize contraceptives on 15 December 1977
Adolfo Suarez said of legalization of contraception in 1977. 'We must provide legal coverage and transparency to what is normal and usual on the street. level'.

He is what we call today an a la carte Catholic, 'Catholic' in private but publicly a dissenter.
