I don't know if this will make any sense. We are constantly bombarded with messages telling us that it is brave to speak up, make a roar, and critique continually. But maybe there is a bravery in silence, too. To not comply verbally or practically with evil can be an act of courage, too. To stay silent when faced with vulgarity, profanity, heresy, or error, as opposed to agreeing with it verbally, can be a kind of courage, too. In my own life, I don't talk much. I stay quiet. But hopeful. Hope and fidelity and silence can be weapons, too. So can saying something and maybe both have a place, depending on who we are, and what opportunities we face.
