It wasn't so bad where I was The worst that happened was a hanging basket blew down. Over in England and Scotland it was the worst storm surge for 60 years, but again by some miracle almost no one was killed and the damage, well it didn't seem so bad for such a huge event. I have the feeling that prayer is holding back the Hand of God, the falling of Justice. Do you remember a while back the Holy Father asked us to pray for peace in Syria just when President Obama was going to launch an attack? It never happened and I think that was a miracle. I have the strong sense there is a huge prayer battle going on out there with some very great saints taking part.
Recently I started using a little scriptural rosary book, with intentions for each decade. One is for the grace to forgive my enemies. If we can't do this, how can we avoid becoming bitter and angry as things get darker and the great apostacy gathers steam? Those who are furious and frothing at the mouth over Pope Francis all over the internet should be a cautionary tale for us. How could anyone be attracted to the faith by them? And how could anyone be a receptacle of grace carrying so much anger and bitterness? I, also, struggle to overcome my critical spirit. But all of us have to do this, by the grace of God, if we are to bear spiritual fruit in these times.
The consecration will take a miracle. Or it might happen when news breaks out that a comet is heading for earth! Ithink I prefer a miracle!
I think that is an excellent idea, Padraig. I will co-sign the letter and most importantly pray for the Holy Spirit to guide the Holy Father to follow the request. Thank you for the backround information on Mandela. I had no idea of his pro-abortion, pro-Gay Marriage and Communist support.

I always remember Our Lady said to one visionary, 'It will come, but it will be very late'. Well we are already very late. But I love the, 'It will come' part..and of course it will, we were promised this at Fatima.

It was depressing to see Mandela a few years ago defend a female Minister of Health who was pushing some totally useless quack remedy claimed to cure HIV (which it can only be assumed she or a family member was manufacturing) and to fail to deny her claims that HIV and AIDS were unconnected. My next door neighbour has a female friend who is black and was educated in S. Africa. He was shocked to learn that state school students are unlikely to get their school leaving certificate unless they pay a bribe and, if they are too poor to do that, the teachers expect sexual favours. 25% of the adults are estimated to be HIV positive and there are murders on an industrial scale. It was nice to see that the people boo'd the President at the Mandela memorial in front of about 100 world leaders.
State TV censored this booing. It is nothing agsinst Nelson Mandela personally, only God will judge him. But going along with the canonisation of secular saints is problematical . Priests do this all the time now at funerals.
