Funny how all of a sudden quite a few enthusiastic defenders of the recently deceased pope have popped up on the forum. Just a thought.
well in a human sense there are a lot of good Catholic Cardinals True there are an awful lot of pervert and Heretic Cardinals put in place by Papa Frankie. But there is lots of ground for hope.
You're right She didn't. But we are hoping that the Vicar of Christ is and was strong enough to whether the storm... He was, and did. One thing that we CAN hang our hats on is Mary's respect of the Church Authority. She often told others to listen to the Priest above all. They are directed by the hands of her son... The Church will stand, Hell will not prevail over it. We may not make sense of it today, but some day it will make complete sense... It all reminds me of the Daniel (at least I think it was Daniel) who spoke of the collapse of the temple by water... all scoffed at the idea, when he said it... The temple was eons away from any water threat... But over the years, wars happened technology grew, an aquaduct was made to transport a high amount of water... it diverted some supply of water, and voila! Prophecy made! lol... There have been times that people consider dubious.... or Popes that people consider dubious for that matter... But for all intensive reasoning, for Christ who is the embodiment of truth... and Mary, who directs all to him... Not ONE message was made to say that Pope Francis is some charlatan playing Church, or that he did NOT have the authority of the Papal Office, as so many of his detractors wish to say he did not. I didnt always make sense to what he spoke of... I truly did not. BUT, I tried to respect his authority as the place setter for my Lord. As a Catholic Layman, I AM obligated to believe in the Pope's interests... even pray for them... as a man, I don't necessarily need to believe in his every word. all Religions are Pathways to God... can we not say that a Catholic can learn something about Faith from outside of the Catholic Church??? I know I have learned things from Non-Catholics, that I can attest are and were admirable. If there is an earnest search, then it can ONLY come to one conclusion.... aka. the Soul is stirred to look for him. most people go to heaven... many Priests will tell you many priests believe in this, because there is NO LIMIT to God's Saving Grace. Why do we as humans constantly want to limit the limitless? I think I've heard the reasoning behind this one has to do with Hope. I get where he is coming from at the very least. Yes, we have the old record, where there's large walkways, and narrow steep paths... We also know that Christ fulfilled, and rebuilt the whole thing, top to bottom in 3 days as well. He HOPES for a very depleted Hell to be sure, it's an admirable quality. I no longer spend a waking minute concerned about who is in Hell... I worry about keeping myself good, so that I can go there some day, sometimes that can be challenging enough no??? I (likely like yourself) am certainly sorry that their judgement went that way... But I also would wish for mercy for myself so I try not to 'guess' where someone went. I do prayers for Purgatory, and my loved ones (even occasionally those I am not a fan of sometimes even lol)... I don't know HOW many are 'down' there... I just hope the trend is over 50% not going there scenario.... it doesn't matter what you wear... Yes, it does. But it doesn't if you're already attempting to extract the sinner from their sin, they're already lost. If shutting it down about their appearance makes them comfortable to come again, and learn more next week. Then so be it! The Lord is trying to save as many as he can! Not only the one's who 'dress according to his code'. The mattering has more to do how it affects others.. I as a man, don't worry too much about it lol... I am quite pasty (well, not really... I dont expose Skin often I guess is what I am saying), and am certainly not giving people 'lustful' thoughts. I believe the message more to be about how many just ignore the Praying, the Sacrifices, and the Contributions to keep the Faith as strong as it has been over the years. We don't find 'repentance' for our bad sins/mistakes... People still hide, people still lie,cheat and steal. We need to make a true amendments to our lives and attempt to live as a Christian, as he intended. The Faith in the west is shrinking. The fruits are NOT there, and Francis IMO is valid at attempting to understand the drawing board again, and see what comes out. Have Faith in the Holy Spirit to have lead him the right way to his conclusions, afterall... He hasn't said ONE thing that has gotten him OUT as Pope during his entire tenure. Has he required clarification? yes. Has he done things I dont understand??? Resounding Yes to this one... But then again, a Layman like myself isn't privy to know all. That's why I trust the Shepherd to lead the way.
Mosqutoes Papa Frankie, just in case we forget. Was the very,very worst person to sit on the Chair of St Peter in 2000 years. Even the Church historians centuries from now will not be able to assess the grave harm he has done to our Holy Mother the Church. From the second he started to the second he left his entire focus was bent on the destruction of the Church. He was the most diabolically evil person I have witnessed in my entire life.;
Nutshell it. Very,very few words, the fewer the better good literary discipline. Nobody's gonna read all this.
I think there’s one very very valuable lesson this pontificate taught us. Actually it was nothing new but many of us had forgotten it. PUT YOUR FAITH IN GOD NOT MAN. It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. (Psalm 118:8) Popes come and go. Bishops come and go. Political leaders come an go and so do political systems. Only God remains.
Wow. just wow. . .at the Easter Vigil Saturday night the last song, "Jesus Christ is Risen Today" . . .if you listened carefully you could hear the sound of the Angels singing with us. Way up in the center of the ceiling of the church! Alleluia!
There is only ONE true religion: the Roman Catholic faith. There is only ONE true Church: the Roman Catholic Church. All other religions are blatant rebellion from God. Most people going to Heaven, well that’s not what most of the saints have said. And Our Lady said at Garabandal that “Few will see God. It is so few that it causes me (the Virgin) much sorrow”. Some priests will tell you anything, if in 1965 many were on the path to hell, in 2025 the number must be much, much higher. Mary said that immodesty dragged souls to hell at Garabandal. It’s something that’s very important since it can literally damn your soul. Garabandal was by no means a “soft” message.
I agree. It was so sudden and it happened so soon after we experienced the Easter Sunday joy. It reinforces the fact that God is in charge. The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away. Blessed be the name of the Lord, now and forever.
I agree. I have ideas of who will be Pope but I honestly think we will get one who is part of the gang. We aren't there yet for a Blessed one...
Agree totally, but to watch the church authority operate like they did during the tenure of Pope Francis was horrible. I had expected that there would be fielty in church authority.
Sure I guess what I was saying... Is that the Holy Spirit comes down, and embues people with different gifts. Pope Francis, had a very kind pastoral spirit that was to bring more to him, so that he may help them on the way. It's different than say, my Holy Spirit typically is... However, it also cannot be denied, that the Holy Spirit is what led him through his Papacy, and his Election. Between the 3 popes I have seen within my life time, each had a different spin of holiness that could be made an example of. They have all been good examples of different ways Holy Spirit can be discerned. The Holy Spirit worked through those 3 popes, and kept the Church safe to date. Pope Francis, for as many doom & gloom sayers were going on about, defended the faith, and guided the flock admirably in his tenure as Pope. Was the boat ride rough sometimes? Sure. In an information age like today, it will only increase in it's difficulty. At the end of the day, I as a Catholic Layman, am obligated to respect, and pray for the Pope's intentions... Like EVERY week lol.... He is the leader. I am amongst the Sheep . The Holy Spirit, has led us here after his 13 year Reign as the Vicar (place setter) of Christ. The doors are still standing, as Christ Promised they would. The Virgin Mary has always said to respect the Church, and listen to the Priests... It's policies over your Spirit matter greatly in heaven.
I agree I am Roman Catholic. I also struggle with the connection of other faith towards our God. They are NOT in Communion. This IS a problem... But ask... WHAT got them where they are? Who DID they disagree with? What Separated them? As a Priest, Pope Francis declared at the start of his Papacy that he was going to be of a more Pastoral spirit than his recent predecessors... He was this to be sure lol.... It certainly ruffled feathers. He did actions I don't necessarily AGREE with... But who am I? and what am I asked to do? Yes, it was difficult, but I went to Church, and prayed for his intentions along with the congregation. He, at the end of the day... kept the Church's doctrine intact... That's the truth. I can't say he slept on his watch. I also understand the going to Heaven bit (believe me I do...) But as Shepherders, trying to garner a flock... TO be saved, their first task is to get them in to the stable, and washed up. They're preaching a message of Hope, and a message of Faith in the possibility of 'No Limit to his Mercy'. I do myself, understand it to be MUCH more complex than this... But I CERTAINLY am not one to test the Limit of God's Mercy... Lest those limits be placed within myself no? The key is within understanding the second half... of no limit to forgiveness. We need to learn how to truly Forgive, let go, and understand mercy ourselves ... I thought about it the other day, like forgiving, but NOT forgetting? That isn't the Forgiveness Christ has said he offers. Keep your eyes on your own Precious Pearl! Believe me lol it's a hard enough task to do in these days... I understand her words about immodesty. However, the Pastoral Priest's role is to get them off the street, and washed up. They can come to an understanding of what it means to follow Christ. He didn't turn away a Prostitute if she was curious... His actions eventually gave her the courage to change her ways. He cared for her... tended to her, as a good shepherd would.
