And Pope Francis recently visited the St Pius X gravesite, shortly after his release from the hospital.
Not just here. Heavily criticised by the highly respected Robert Royal in his article today in The Catholic Thing and even more heavily by Archbishop Chaput in First Things: https://www.thecatholicthing.org/ https://firstthings.com/the-church-after-francis/ These are highly respected, moderate Catholics, not radical in any way. A negative view of Pope Francis is quite common outside the (generally anti-Catholic) mainstream media and this is likely to continue.
I heard Pres Trump is going to the funeral. Bet Pope Francis is very pleased about that. Divine Providence or poetic justice?
not sure if this has already been posted, but the funeral is on Saturday https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/p...ay/?utm_source=featured-news&utm_campaign=usa
May God Bless our 'Papa' Pope Francis I... I carry sorrow in my heart looking back how many Arrows he needed to persevere through in leading the flock of us lol... I admit my spirit is not quite as 'pastoral' as his... But it did help me figure out that there are different endowments of the Holy Spirit given on Earth... (Look at the sparse difference between Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI, and Pope Francis I). Each tried to lead the way their own Spirit led them. Each had an affination to our Blessed Mother, differently it seemed lol. These have been the 3 Popes of my life so far. Each showed me a different form of Compassionate Faith, which came out in expression in different ways in each of them. PJP II had a very good Theological Background, and good Pastoral care... He almost was the Central of the 3 (from my POV anyhow). He would vehemently defend truths, and yet was compassionate enough to listen... Benedict XVI it has been said, is of a brilliant theological mind, that it has been said (perhaps jokingly... but with some meaning) that if we were to enter heaven, it would be said we lived in the time of 'Benedict XVI'... He likely had the mind and reasoning of a Church Doctor... However, he could at times come across as a touch too firm... Then Francis I... Who was so Pastoral, and compassionate... He could try to reason with Martin Luther (which was sort of shocking lol)... But his compassion brought so many back just by via listening to their issues. He ultimately left the Foundation of our Faith intact, perhaps a touch bruised... in some hard-liner's POV. But I truly got some discernment of what Christ's compassion is for us, through him. There is no LIMIT to his Mercy. Between the three of them, the message is still there... Have no fear! Repent! and turn your life away with Remorse/Repentance. There is NO LIMIT to his Mercy. Between the 3 of them... I believe each would agree to that same principle. LOL... It's the very same message Mary says on the Mountains of Garabandal, no? I mean, look over at the people chastising our Late Holy Father, saying he wasn't this or that... But we are all in that same boat... Relying on the Holy Spirit to guide us through. Pope Francis I taught us In my Honest Opinion, that Jesus, our Holy Lord.... Did NOT turn people away, he did NOT say you were not dressed appropriately, he took people as they were, and his way just shines through to want to invoke that change in others. He carried his own Cross, and ultimately tried to tell others to pick theirs up again. May God Bless our Beautiful 'Papa'... Pope Francis I. Until I see you again, someday... Rest Easy friend.
Many were turned away from the church during COVID and afterwards for not having been vaccinated. Many are now very sick or have died from the vaccine which Pope Francis encouraged. https://www.vaticannews.va/en/pope/...cis-appeal-covid-19-vaccines-act-of-love.html
Well I wouldn’t say that “all religions are pathways to God” or “most people go to Heaven” or “it doesn’t matter what you wear” was the message of Garabandal. Mary actually said quite the opposite!
The Italians have a saying , that he who enters as a Pope leaves as a Cardinal . In other words the ones who are favourite never make it. Pope St John Paul was only elected because the two favourites drew and he was a compromise. Pope St John 23rd was only picked because they could not make up their minds and John was old and would die soon. He was picked to keep the seat warm. I am still surprised by Papa Frankies death. I have a waiting feeling as though something huge is about to happen.
Was happy to see this at our parish this morning at Mass. Our local county will be having a Mass Friday evening for PF
I think the best many of us can say after 12 nightmarish years of the last papacy is simply may God have mercy on his soul. If I expressed anymore it would be disingenuous. It is enough.
My mother used to Say ,concerning the dead, if you haven't got anything good to say about them say nothing, for they can't answer back. I get that. So I try to show some restraint. He's dead now and no longer can do anymore harm. Unless he shows up as a demon in an exorcism, which I would suppose is perfectly possible. As Judas often does. Anyway upwards and onwards. I continue to pray for his poor tormented soul. I took it as a great sign of hope and repentance that he visited the tomb of Pope Pius x and Pope Benedict so this gives me hope that despite the great odds and the utterly appalling things he got up to, that his soul may nevertheless be saved.
I am watching a really nice old documentary on the Swiss Guard at the moment: ( By the way Papa Frankie got shot of several Swiss Guards and other Vatican employees for not taking the experimental Covid Jab. . (The Pope of Mercy not being very merciful) But perhaps he was distracted while he closed every single Church on the Planet as non essential;
Isn’t that Pope John XXIII? It sure looks like it. Pope Francis was in a wheelchair when he was there recently.
Pope St Pius x body was preserved incorrupt. As was Pope St John 23rd. I saw it in the Vatican Pope St Johns body looks fresh as a daisy. I cried when I saw it. He is a very great favourite of mine. I do not expect Papa Frankie's corpse to be incorrupt. He looked looked like he was going to explode with rotteness, even before he died.
Yep. Here’s but one example among millions. Slovak soprano Patricia Janeckova had the voice of an angel. And looked like one too. She was allegedly forced to do you know what to pursue her career and immediately developed a very aggressive breast cancer which resulted in her premature death at the age of 25. Hope the pope of compassion can explain that before the Just Judge. Here’s a small sample of what the world has been deprived of.
Judge Napolitano said yesterday that he just hopes the next pope is Catholic. But I think it would take a major intervention from heaven for that to happen. I also suspect we’re still at a time when God is giving man free rein to work out his designs. There will come a time when He’ll say “enough “. But we’re not quite there yet I suspect. We’ll see.
