There is great need right now for prayer for Father Rookey, the healing priest, in Chicago. He has been dedicated in service to Our Lady for almost 70 years and now is in need of a great grace. Please if you would, continue with me until Sunday, in praying a rosary for him or even a Hail Mary that he might gain the desire of his heart. It's in Our Lady's hands. Thank you so very much.
Can you say what his need is? Is he ill? I certainly will pray for Fr. Rookey as he is close to my heart too.
This doesn't concern health. Unfortunately, I can not comment any further but I do need help in prayer for him. God knows the intention.
I am very relieved it is not his health. I will pray for his need and your concern for him also. BTW, Kathleen and I are finally getting together tomorrow! We can also say a prayer for him. And tomorrow evening I will be seeing my new Franciscan order friends for the Mass of the Lord's Last Supper, in a Franciscan church in Rockford. I will ask them all to pray for Fr. Rookey.
I will pray for him over the next 11 days when I am away of camping again in the Mountains of Mourne. I can think of no better time then Easter especially the Easter Tridium for asking for graces. Also DIvine Mercy Sunday. Psalm 121:1 A song of ascents. I lift up my eyes to the hills--where does my help come from? ] Priests like Fr. Rooky and Fr. Corapi are like troops on the front line right up there in hand to hand combat with the forces of Darkness and will come right under attack in every possible ways. Priests, Ministers and those who carry on any Ministry are subjects of huge attack and I think need to be prayed for and praying for themselves constantly. I remember one Pope who was asked about this and said he was really amazed and astonished when he was elected as Pope by the Seas of Graces that swept over him. Then he relaised they came from Catholics from all over the world who were praying for him. I think if I was Pope I would be entirely buoyed up by this knowledge ,especially knowing that real saints and victim souls are dedicating their whole lives to this. Folks like Fr. Rookey give so much ; giving a little back is little to ask for... I'll be praying for Fr. Corapi too.
Padraig, you'll come back a changed person after 11 days away. Good for you! Thank you for your support in this. I felt the same way, Fr. Rookey has given everything to every one all his life, to be able to give back even just a little in prayer is an honor. Bless you, have a Holy Easter.
by St. Therese of Lisieux O Jesus, eternal Priest, keep your priests within the shelter of Your Sacred Heart, where none may touch them. Keep unstained their anointed hands, which daily touch Your Sacred Body. Keep unsullied their lips, daily purpled with your Precious Blood. Keep pure and unearthly their hearts, sealed with the sublime mark of the priesthood. Let Your holy love surround them and shield them from the world's contagion. Bless their labors with abundant fruit and may the souls to whom they minister be their joy and consolation here and in heaven their beautiful and everlasting crown. Amen.
I went to a Franciscan Church tonight for Holy Thursday Mass. I lit a candle for Fr. Rookey underneath a picture of St. Francis, and asked him to help Fr. with his needs and to intercede for him. He is in my prayers now, as I finally turn in. This has been a long, but wonderfful day! Kathleen and I met and talked all afternoon, and then the Mass I attended was terrific. The church is in a Polish neighborhood (St. Stanislaus), and the Mass was in both Polish and English. At the end of the Mass, they presented flowers to the three Friers presiding! (yes, 3 priests were there)! They thanked them for being good shepards, good teachers, good leaders, and etc. it was very touching . If only other congregatiions would do that for their priests. Then they had a Holy Hour with litanies, the Divine Mercy Chaplet, and a Rosary. Wow...I am feeling very peaceful and warm inside tonight. Whatever comes tomorrow or the next day, lets take it with joy and peace in our hearts. For Fr. Rookey, peace, peace, peace.
I am putting this back into the right thread, sorry I asked this in the other thread! Lee Wrote: Thank you for asking about Fr. Rookey. Father Rookey, 9 years ago on Good Friday, had had his Healing Ministry taken from him. He was no longer allowed to have Healing Masses. In private he could see people and anoint but the public ministry was shelved. He was told that his ministry would be returned to him on this last Good Friday. That's why the prayers were so important. The ministry is still out of reach for him but I know it's through no lack of our prayers. I continue to pray that his gift of healing would be activated again on a large scale, but in God's timing. Thank you so much for your prayers, please continue to remember him. I thought that's what it was...I so prayed for him to be allowed to do what he does best again, in his last days. I will continue to pray for this. Sometimes it is hard to understand why the Church does these things, but I try. When a shepherd has a beautiful gift from God that he has been ordered not to exercise to its fullest, it must be so difficult. He still reaches out with his website, with his prayer cards, with his telephone line. He is doing what he can within the rules. I think that is why he likes to travel to Medjugorje and other places, because then he can reach a few more souls who need healing, still in a private manner, but in those places, people seek him out. I feel so fortunate we were able to participate in a private Mass with him (and the German Priest there) in the Frankfurt Airport...at the time I didn't really understand his urgent need to find that chapel and have that little Mass, but now I do. I now understand that good priests long for celebrating the Mass, they live for it. He does not say Mass that often anymore, so when he sees an opportunity, his desire to do it is very strong, I would guess. I am privileged to have received communion from his hands. I will mention again that many feel he should become a Saint one day. Of course he will be one in heaven, but to publically be declared a saint would be so wonderful. I will keep him in my prayers, I think of him often.
Can I post a video from my Computer? I am going to try. If not, I will have to upload it to YouTube. Oh well, the video is rather large and it seems to be stuck. I am just going to put it on my YouTube page. This is the lighter side of Fr. Rookey...and Musical side! He can be very serious, but he always is quick with a joke, and you never know when it is coming! He loves to laugh and surprise people, he even told me a blonde joke! Anyway, he made us laugh a lot on our pilgrimage...
