Thank you so much for this thread. Our parish chose to participate in CRS. Having been made aware of their beliefs by this thread and other sites, I refuse to write a check to them. Instead, I plan to write a check to our local parish's Food Bank, which serves very poor people in our community.

I have been looking for other charities where the money given is used directly for the needy.

I too will donate to my local food bank. Not one dime for Catholic Relief Services...CRS. It is so scandal ridden and yet our modernist church continues to fund them with the pew sitters money.....and they know better.
Our bishops know the truth, yet they CHOOSE to ignore it....and promote it.
I’m seriously done donating my money to the church. There are plenty of worthy charities that need it.
I’ve read the previous post suggestions recommending Mary’s Meals and Food for the Poor as well.

Exactly, in the magazines we receive from the Bishop, I am tired of reading article after article about climate change and social justice, and not a peep about spiritual development of the laity, or the consequences of sin. Little or no mention of Jesus. I plan to give more to EWTN, because their programming and evangelical work reaches millions. God bless Mother Angelica for creating this network. I pray that they stay faithful to the Magisterium of the Church and their foundress and not stray into modernism.

There are many needy people where i live. I have 2 friends who have lost almost everything in a fire. I choose to give right to the person. There are also a few Shrines that i try to support in little ways. Masses for the holy souls through the Seraphic Mass Association. Also food banks run by the Church for local Families. I do not know if what im doing is right but i just try and follow my heart.

I’m fortunate to live close to convents that are the home to two very faithful orders of nuns. They need financial help to cover the stipens for daily mass and operations. Having masses said for our loved ones, our church and clerics might be a good alternative for our Lenten offerings as well.

Beth post their website please. I am being very careful where donations go these days. It's good to know of places to support.

I'll share something that happened to me recently
My wife and I had the rare chance to go out for a meal in the city on our way out of the restaurant we came across what looked like an old man with grey hair lying on a street corner covering himself with a blanket our immediate reaction was to help him his response was vague and when my wife asked him if he was hungry or needed something he responded in a quiet foreign accent he kept putting his blanket up to his face and he was shaking as if he was cold our hearts broke at the thought of an old man lying cold on the streets but something wasn't sitting well with me my own instinct kicked in as I was in the door trade when I was young I decided to ask a door man if he knew the man and if he was new to the streets his response I can only say infuriated me and my wife he said ignore that man he is a professional begger he dyes his hair grey to look old :mad:

But Jesus was to have the last word that night we were heading home to catch the bus but our path decided to change direction for a quiet drink on our stroll we came across a table with volunteers cooking and distributing food and soup to the homeless so our money and charity ended up in their pockets
My lesson was Jesus taught me prudence

That is a very interesting story QED. I love how it ended. You were as wise as a serpent and as gentle as a dove. Gifts of the Holy Spirit!!

AED...which charities do you want the links for? I’ll look them up!

Food for the poor or Mary’s meals?

Here is one called food for the poor...endorsed by Laura Ingraham.

    This is my favorite:

    The Nazarene Fund

    Mary’s Meals:
    https://www.marysmealsusa.org/

And you can have masses said for the salvation of souls.

I've given to CRS in the past. I didn't know they supported abortion groups. Does anyone know if Salesian Missions is a good charity? I've given to them too.

    Boy, I’m glad you asked.

I just looked it up, and they are not good.

    This is what I found:

    Salesian Missions Promote Masturbation, Contraception

    https://www.lepantoinstitute.org/salesian-missions-promote-masturbation-contraception/

This information comes from the Lepanto Institute, a well respected Catholic Organization.

Open the above link for details.

They turned up on the radar screen very early as having some bad apples. I wouldnt give them $. Poor St John Bosco. He must be deeply sad.

So many good catholic institutions have been sullied by these evil men bent on destroying our church.

We need to expose them all to clean and heal our church....and we will. The gates of hell will not prevail.

God will judge those outside. "Expel the wicked person from among you."

Someone once told me to google fraud and scandal with the name of any person or organization before you donate to them to see what might turn up.

A friend of mine was going to write out a huge check to a visiting missionary priest after he made a appeal at a mass she attended.

When her son cautioned her to check up on him via the internet, she found his name associated with multiple fraud and scandals, Fortunately before she mailed her check.

I do this on a regular basis now.

It’s very sad to think that someone would defraud you in the name of Christianity, but it happens routinely.

    Just sad...
