I'm becoming more and more aware of what I need to do in the very near future. My husband and I had accumulated way too much "stuff" so I'm going through the house separating things: give, sell, trash. I need to lighten my load so if I do need to flee it's easier. Last night I unloaded a classic car! I had walked into the garage one too many times and thought "this is of no value to me at all, get rid of it". And God arranged just that. . . I did it! It was very liberating. So this morning I've plowed around the garage to see what's what...it's truly a man's world out there .....but that can change. I've moved my candle and soap making paraphernalia out there. Beeswax at the ready. My water supply is there all neatly organized right next to my 5 reels of duct tape and heavy gloves. I liked however Garabandal, your idea of "another water supply". That's the way I need to be thinking but I can only move one step at a time.
We live between a lake and a river, so if we don't get submerged in a flood, l we should have plenty of water - and fish (and Canadian Geese, and wild turkeys and rabbits, etc). Luckily we are on the top of a big hill. So far this area has never flooded when areas all around us have been underwater, but if it does, I think we would be on an island. Also our 3/4 acre of land is plantable...flowers now, but crops could be had in the future. We have cornfields all around us. I don't have a garden right now, but for years I did have one, I just let it grass in these last few years. But I planted the blueberry bushes this summer! And I have herbs. Echinacea (the picture with the little bird), peppermint, oregano, and lots of dandelion since we stopped having the lawn service come out! LOL. There's a willow tree in the neighbor's yard. Some books on natural foods and medicines, now if only I could find a good use for all the poison ivy around! I mentioned before that camping gear is good to have, and bicycles. It is interesting what you may already have if you just think about it and look around. Gail, don't unload too much "Man-stuff". Hand tools and things like oil, wire, old lumber, may prove very useful in a pinch. I wish we had a little boat. We are canoers, but have not yet acquired our own canoe, we just rent them. Now with money tight, it is a back-burner thing again. But I still wish we had one. Gotta keep my eyes open again for one.
This just came from THE WORKERS OF OUR LADY OF MOUNT CARMEL Fifty Years of Garabandal: The Jesuit and The Miracle The Workers of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Garabandal The Jesuit and The Miracle August 8, 2011 As the four young seers of Garabandal went into ecstasy on this date in 1961, something wonderful happened that had never occurred before. A young man was present with them, clearly visible in the presence of the Blessed Virgin. As he came to kneel down beside them they heard him say" Miracle, Miracle!" Our Lady seemed to address him directly, "You will soon be with me" and confided to the girls that this man, Father Luis Maria Andreu Rodamilans S.J. was also in ecstasy and had been granted a vision of the Great Miracle that would occur in their village sometime in the future. Father Andreu was the son of a very pious Bilbao family. Three of his brothers became Jesuit missionaries. Luis also discerned the call to become a missionary priest and joined the Jesuits with plans of preaching the gospel in China. A Doctor of Theology, he spoke seven languages fluently and became the resident Professor of Theology at the Jesuit College at Ona, Spain. He remained behind in part to care for his aging mother who had generously given all her children to serve the mission fields of the Roman Catholic Church. After his death his mother would join the Visitation Convent in San Sebastian. Suffering interiorly for much of the past year, Father Luis made the drive up from Burgos with friends. This was his second and final trip to the village where he had been deeply moved by the apparitions of July 29. He had decided to return one more time before departing on a trip to Germany. Moving with the crowd following behind the ecstatic march, he found himself unexpectedly swept up in the vision and witness to the future Miracle. Many in the crowd heard him cry out in joy and astonishment. On the trip home, Father Luis confided to his friends, "I am so happy. What a favor the Blessed Virgin has bestowed on me. How fortunate we are to have a mother like her in heaven! There is no reason to fear the supernatural life. The girls have given us an example of how we must act with the Blessed Virgin. There is no doubt in my mind the things involving the girls are true. Why should the Blessed Virgin have chosen us? This is the happiest day of my life." Shortly after making this statement, Father Luis Andreu died in the peace of holy joy before the car reached its destination. One cannot review the events at Garabandal without acquiring a great impression of the love Our Blessed Mother has for her priest sons. This love was fully absorbed by the visionaries who emerged from the apparitions with a profound desire to pray and offer sacrifices for priests and to foster this practice amongst the laity. They have continued in this devotion all their lives organizing holy hours of prayer for priests in the places where they live. This call for prayer for priests must be counted among the most important priorities of the Garabandal apparitions. Emphasized repeatedly in the discourses of Our Blessed Mother to the children is the necessity of sacrifices and prayer on the part of faithful Catholics for their priest, whose true vocation is self sacrifice imitating that of Jesus Christ. The failure of a vocation concedes a lack of devotion on behalf of the laity spiritually obliged to uphold these men in their labors. As Conchita expressed in a 1971 message, "Let us pray a lot for priests. We ourselves are to blame for many priests who are on the road to perdition, because we do not pray enough for them, because we do not sacrifice ourselves, and also because we should be giving an example to those priests who are consecrated to the Blessed Virgin...We have to help those priests...that they may rise and pursue their course." Many authors on Garabandal believe that the events pertaining to Father Luis Andreu S.J. are meant to honor him as a worthy priest and place high his example of devout ministry for others to follow. When asked in 1966 what the Blessed Virgin desired of priests Conchita replied; "What the Blessed Virgin wants from the priest first of all is his own sanctification. -He should fulfill his vows through love of God, and lead many souls to Him through example and prayer, for in our time it is difficult otherwise. -May the priest be sacrificed through love of souls in Christ! -May he retire from time to time in silence to listen to God who speaks to him continually. -May they think a lot about the Passion of Jesus so that their lives are more united to Christ the Priest and thus invite souls to penance and sacrifice, and also make more tolerable to them the cross that Christ sends to us all. -To speak of Mary who is the surest one to lead us to Christ and also speak about and cause people to believe that there is a heaven, so too there is a hell." Here in the United States, we have yet to see our first native born priest canonized by the Universal Church. As Americans, we are blessed to have many outstanding priest patrons on the path to sainthood: Archbishop Fulton Sheen, Father Solanus Casey OFM, Father Emil Kapaun, Father Walter Ciszek SJ, Father Patrick Peyton CSC, and Father John Hardon SJ are foremost among many worthy American priests. We encourage you to offer your needful petitions to any one of these intercessors. Please add your prayers and support to their respective causes that our nation may have the greater grace of their heavenly assistance and our clergy and laity their true and saintly examples of priestly life. On August 16th, 1961, only a few days after his death, Father Luis Andreu was again present in the apparitions of the Blessed Virgin to the four seers of Garabandal; this time as her heavenly guest. He left this consolation with the girls for his grieving family, "Be happy and content, for I am in Heaven and see you every day." In a private locution to Conchita in 1964 it was revealed that the body of this son of Saint Ignatius would be found incorrupt on the day following the Great Miracle. All of the physical preparations seem prudent, but I have been wondering about my spiritual responsibilities regarding the warning. I have many family members who have fallen away from the faith who would think I was mad if I talked too much about the warning before it occurs. Their hearts and ears are so closed now I think it might be better to be prepared to speak on the heels of heaven's actions. I was thinking of forwarding Mark Mallett's blog on "after the Illumination" http://www.markmallett.com/blog/2011/03/after-the-illumination/ to most of these people. Does anyone else have any thoughts on how to keep our friends/family from falling away again? I can see full churches and confessionals for a short time following the Warning but our priests will need a lot of help from the laity to deal with our returning brothers and sisters.
Our Lady at Medjugorje encourages us to bear witness by our lives that we are Christians. I find talking to many people about God or spiritual things is often a complete waste of time for they just do not want to know. We preach Christ by our example and sometimes we use words but a life in communion with God is the best sermon we can preach. The most important preparation is spiritual preparation - fasting, prayer and works of mercy - fast particularly from sin - eradicate serious sin and then smaller sins and character flaws - pray to the Holy Spirit for Illumination and guidance with regard to our lives and ask for grace and mercy to overcome our weaknesses and become holy.
I like your idea of Mark's blog entry, but it is a HUGE amount to swallow, and a bit scary too. It may be too much for them at first. I have some emails ready, and I have copied some stuff even from this forum into word files so show them how we were talking about it and what people feel. But after the warning some of the things on blogs and forums may be irrelevent or not exactly correct, so will need to be gone through again. I say arm yourself with rosaries and medals and info about using them. Giving them something to hold and to pray with may be the best first step. Pray with them. Take them to your favorite places of worship. Honestly, I keep getting a vision of passing rosaries out to people on the street. My two dozen rosaries from Medjugorje won't go far, but at least its a start. Tell them about sacramentals, and about their angels, and about their Mother...that might be best. The physical preparations are for later, if we are caught up directly in chastisements or tribulations, but we may not all be in those situations either. We have no way of knowing for sure about that, do we?
MC, I like your thought process. I was thinking something of 1 page or less to help people make some initial sense of what just happened and will happen shortly would be help our overwhelmed priests and hopefully alert people to the fact that this has been predicted for a long time and that Stan will be trying his own mis-info shortly. Something that can be emailed and easily printed/forwarded/read for people that have been away from the sacraments so long or never even in the Church. Would you be willing to share one of your word files for discussion? Of course all of garabandal's suggestions apply as well - fast, pray, and works of mercy. Its quite a roller-coaster ride
I would, but the darn thing completely put together in one coherent document is now 5 pages long! I think it's a good, easy to swallow summary though. I need to probably do a one page pre-email, but I don't have a current one penned. I had an old one from a couple years ago from the Ron Conte predictions, set up to send if we received a pre-warning, as if the warning would be the first secret of Medjugorje, but looking at it, it is no longer relevent. I need to update it. As for the "After Warning" letter, it is now quite lengthy. Is there any way to attach a word file here? I certainly do not want to paste it in here.
Normans visions of angels pouring the vials of God's wrath on the Earth seems timely now as the worst rioting in Englands' history has broken out right across it, very, very bad rioting indeed, they are talking aboout sending the troops in. England of course is one of the most Godless nations on the face of the earth.
We are seeing an increase in violence here in the State's too, with "flash mobs" of just large groups of people attacking others, with social media being used to organize. Of course, it's nothing like what is going on in London. The link below has some amazing pics of London in wide screen size. http://www.boston.com/bigpicture/2011/08/london_riots.html
It's a delicate balance between how much we inform people of what is to come via our actions and example v. talking about it. So far, I have been 95% example v. very little talking about it. But given the direction the world is taking, I believe it is time for me to start talking more. I just don't want to hear that I knew what was coming and didn't give my family a real heads-up that tough times are coming ahead. I have some write-ups, but now that I looked them over again and they need a lot of work. I'm going to try to keep it at 1 page, but I will have to describe what an apparition is, etc., as some of my siblings are atheists and wouldn't even know what an apparition is. I think the only apparitions I will mention are Medj and Gabranel in Spain, just briefly explain what is happening there and that there are secrets involved that many feel will come to fruition in the near future. I may have an "appendix" so to speak on the illumination (description of it from saints such as St. Faustina), what we know of the secrets, and descriptions of heaven, hell, and purgatory that the visionaries have given. In the case of my family, I think it's important to describe heaven so they hopefully begin to desire heaven or at the very least shake them up so that they want to avoid hell and purgatory. I figure this will plant the seeds so they may think it is possible (some in my family do not even believe in heaven, hell, etc.), and as the world begins to spiral into further chaos, perhaps they will take my write-up with more seriousness. That's my plan anyway!
I often say to people who don't believe in Medugorje to go there. My own weapons are fasting and prayer I think we must pray most for our families, especially parents for if we do not pray for our own then who will we pray for? But it is not easy. I just learnt two nights ago that my own sister had served at a gay wedding down town and attended the opening of a gay night club belonging to her 'best friend'. This doesn't exactly thrill me. On the other hand I think generally I see a lot of light at the end of the tunnel. But some folks are just hard work. Still hard work means hard praying and hard fasting so I can see its time to get my sleeves rolled up. I could talk to folks like my sister till my tongue fell out, she just won't hear. So the sword of prayer and the shield of fasting.... Padre Pio had a sister who went far of the rails and as far as I know she never came back...
Yes I agree the primary weapons are prayer and fasting. The write-up I will put together is just something I will email out so they have something to ponder and is really just planting a seed. I'll answer any follow-up questions they have, but I'm not expecting any, as I don't think the hearts are ready yet. But they'll have something to refer to as the world gets worse and worse and hopefully their hearts become open to the possibility that God exists, He has rules that He takes very seriously, and He wants to spend eternity with each and every one of us. Ultimately it does come down to prayer and fasting. I have already written out my prayer game-plan with who I am praying for, the intention, and order I will do it in. As I had mentioned earlier, I'm doing a 54 day novena for a family member and her loss of belief and in parellel I'm doing the novena for hopeless requests for another family member. When each finishes, I just do it again for another family member and intention and my current game plan won't be done for something like a year  I must add fasting to the mix, and I don't have a game-plan for that yet. I hate fasting, but will start with fasting from some sins I'm attached to and go from there.
this is good post from pelianito on what one might tell your friends about the future http://pelianito.stblogs.com/something-you-may-want-to-pass-on/
That is a good letter in the link. Potatosack, reading your FIRST post on this page, I thought I was reading an outline of the document I have finished already! However, I will warn you that if you include all that it will be 5 pages long! LOL. That's what happened to mine. For me, I am a talker, and the doing has come more slowly...the teacher in me I guess. I can preach and I know where the info can be found, but do I practice it? Well...I'm still working on that part...so my family has heard a lot of it already. Some of them are tired of it, some think I am a little loopy, some just feel sorry for me, some are intrigued. After the warning though, that will all change. Since I and my mother both went to Medjugorje, pretty much all of our family and most of our friends have heard about our trip. In that, they have gotten the first wave of information about Medjugorje and the messages and the warning and most likely I have already given them a rosary or a Miraculous Medal, whether they wanted it or not. So, my followup letter that I have now is a rather detailed fill-in for them. Also it contains some links to pages where they can learn (or re-learn) to pray the Rosary and the Divine Mercy Chaplet. It got long, adding small bits about St. Faustina and a few key messages from Medjugorje and a little about Garabandal. Since it is an "after the warning" letter now, I have to tell them about the Miracle and permanent sign coming soon too. Though I do include a few links, I wanted the letter to stand alone in case for some reason the internet is down. I can print the word file and mail the letter, and there is enough in it without the links to get them started. I know though, that some of it will have to change after the actual warning, as it may not all be correct afterward, but it shouldn't take long to do that and paste it into an email or print it and send it off. The people receiving it will be from all walks of Christianity to Agnosticism, but remember, after the warning, they will not be in the same mindset anymore. They will be reeling and in need of direction. Most of our friends and family, I hope, will accept the warning as proof of God and of all this. So now they need a new life plan. Just help them with the first steps. Rosary, Divine Mercy, the words to the Our Father, Hail Mary, and Glory Be. A few key links to set them on the right path, and let them go at their own pace finding the rest online and at their own local churches, or they can call me to talk about it. I figure I will drive down to help my kids soon afterward, unless they decide to come here.
I want to start fasting again now...one day a week at least. Bread and water and tea. I have let fasting go again too. I can't seem to keep it up indefinitely, but I think I should, so it does bother me that I don't. The talker I am, here is some advice to start out for those who have never really fasted...start with a trip to the store and get some tasty, healthy, perhaps heavy grain bread (IF you like it - you like bread, right? Well, then get bread you will LIKE!) and maybe pretzels and even hot biscuit mix for "dinner". It is easier that way to get started. I drink tea for the caffeine, because if I don't I will get a bad headache the next day and that can make you say "forget it" the next time. But only water and tea. Eat as much bread as you need...overeat, eat the whole loaf if you have to the first time or two, remember, it is only for one day. Drink as much water or tea as you want. Think about when you are sick and all you eat all day are a couple pieces of toast. You can do it! I actually think the more foods you "allow" in your fast, the harder it is to actually fast! Bread and Water and or tea (or coffee if you must) but that is it! (no jam, and try to forego butter too - bread means bread, really bread is good plain!). Keep it simple. When I was at Marytown, there was a flier in the gift shop about the rules of fasting. The thing was two pages long! I looked at the clerk and said, "No wonder people don't fast, look at all this! Why? Mary said, Bread and Water...that's it! Easy! This should just say that...Mary doesn't steer us wrong (or make it complicated)." Here's what will happen...after the first time or two when you stuff yourself full of bread and perhaps pretzels, you will find that you don't need all that, and you will cut down on the amount considerably. People have a fear of fasting...you just need to get over that fear first. Later you WILL do it more sacrificially, but don't start out that way or your fear will win. Pretzels do seem like a stretch so I don't usually eat them anymore, but they were helpful in the beginning to get me over the fear that I was going to starve to death without a snack. Did you know that pretzels were originally created as a fasting bread? That is why they are cris-crossed...after the sign of the cross! So if you want to just eat pretzels all day, well, go ahead. Once you have fasted a few times on a regular schedule, you will find that you barely eat the bread you bring with you to work or wherever. I take bread back home now. I went from half a loaf or more in several "meals", to maybe 2 pieces (or a chunk, I like eating unsliced bread sometimes) at each mealtime. In the evenings, if I feel tempted to cheat, I make a big hot biscuit and brush it with a little oil, and eat it with a fork! Its like a breadbowl of soup - but hold the soup! I hope this is helpful to some who are afraid to try fasting. The slogan "Just Do It!" applies well here. One day a week. Later, maybe two days a week. Take control of yourself. Every time you have a hunger feeling, offer it up like you offer up an ache or a pain. It WILL GO AWAY! Guaranteed. If not, well, then have some more bread! Its okay. Really, God will smile and make you stronger next time. The better discipline will come later, if you keep doing it and just don't stop. Set a goal to do it for Lent, or to do it for a month, or up to a Holy Day, and then see what happens after that.
A snippet from Mark Mallet's blog today: "It is with that, that I turn back to some words I sensed Heaven saying in 2008. Here, I also share some prophetic words from others that should be discerned, though I make no final claims on their authenticity. I also include here a recent word attributed to the Mother of God at a famous apparition site. We are it seems, brothers and sisters, living in the times of the Great Landslide⦠First published October 1st, 2008. I have updated this writing. ON the vigil of the Feast of Mary, Mother of God (2007), I wrote to you the words I was hearing in my heart: This is the Year of The Unfolding⦠Those were followed in the spring (2008) by the words: Very quickly now. The sense was that events around the world were going to unfold very rapidly. I saw three "orders" collapse, one upon the other like dominoes: The economy, then the social, then the political order. From this, would rise a New World Order (see The Coming Counterfeit). Then, on the Feast of the Archangels, Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael, I heard the words: My son, prepare for the trials which now begin. http://www.markmallett.com/blog/2011/08/landslide/
The collapse of the economies may be a deliberate act by the globalist bankers who desire a one-world economy/currency & the economic crisis also leads to the violence that we see - allowing governments to impose martial law & fascist systems of government with the merger of political & corporate state. We are heading rapidly to a New World Order where Christians will be marginalised and persecuted.
Yes, first make peoplevery afraid, terrified. Then give them a Saviour.People who fear will buy into anything. If this fails..this attempt at World Government as prophesies say it will..I wonder if it will be because of the Illumination of Conscience? That this direct intervention from GOd stops it?
