I am happy to see davidtlig on the forum. I know well where he comes from. I tried for several years to back Pope Francis' off the cuff statements. I am totally committed to the chair of Peter. I pray for the pope every day. Where David and I disagree is whether a pope can fail in his leadership of the faithful. I am a person who stands for God's unchanging truths. My fidelity is to God, not man. God is truth, thus truth cannot change. The way I see it, is either those who continue to hail his papacy are 1) either ignorant of the Churches unchanging doctrines, which come from Christ, or 2) their fidelity to the office is more essential then their fidelity to God's truth. Either way, if anyone at this point cannot tell the difference, I pity them, because they will never make it through the period of the False Prophet and the Antichrist. I will continue to pray for them that one day they will cooperate with God's grace and wake up from the confusion taking place within the Church and the walls of the Vatican and know that all you have to do is follow the unchanging truths of the church Christ founded and then pray for the courage to defend them.
It certainly does not look good. It looks pretty awful in fact. I remember what our Lady said, 'I have buried you in Signs!' I also recall another thing Our Lady said, 'If it is necessary for the Salvation of Souls I would visit every home in the world' I was thinking of how people lived before this modern ages. A friend of mine told me at weddings and funerals they used to party for a week or two. No TV's or internet they just brought food and drink and sang and danced together like a big village family. They also all believed in God, very much so..a huge Faith. Going back to a much simpler poorer way of life will be a huge blessing though we may have to pass through great storms to get there. But get there we will. I used to love watching the Waltons who lived through the Great Depression. True they were very poor but I think their lifestyle was better than ours.
I have an envy for the Amish. I think when things change they will be much better equipped than us to take it.
I agree Padraig We have an Amish community near here and they live without electricity I think they might use propane stoves but I know they live like people did over a hundred years ago They use horses in the fields and buggies for transportation They do not get vaccinated They live amongst themselves and have their own schools to about 8th grade
My brother Conor, who lives in Michican visited the Amish one time with his family. Some young guys thought it was funny to thrown a tin of coke of one of the Amish men, knowing they were pacifist and would respond. Conor punched the guy and knocked him out. I thought this was a nice thing to do.
