I was at one o'clock mass in our city centre at the oldest Church St Mary's yesterday. Saturday mass was offered in honour of Our Lady. An ordinary Saturday but the Church was packed. I cried openly as we sang the Marian hymns There is never anything ordinary about the mass. Never anything ordinary about hearing the Word of God. Never anything ordinary about hymn singing. Never anything ordinary about being with the Body of Christ. These posts remind me of this. I wonder why God can come in such a powerful way at some times than others? I will remember this mass for years to come. The Holy Spirit is such a Mystery, blowing where and when He will.

There are so few people who attend the 7pm Mass during the summer, but during the rest of the year it is quite full. I was the Sacristian, I did the first reading, my 13 yr. old daughter did the 2nd reading and the responsorial psalms, I did the intentions and was the Extra ordinary minister...! My son served as an altar server. I also did the announcements. It was scary doing it all, because usually I just do one, but no one came forward. So be it. My kids are going to know how one way or another and they won't be afraid to come forward and participate in the Holy Mass!

I did the collection this morning and am always touched by how much money some people give. It is always a rebuke to myself for being so tight. A wise priest was asked one time how much we should give and he said, 'Until it hurts a little'. Two cents finds me in agony. The time I most remember was in Jerusalem. I wanted so much to do the readings at MAss at Notre Dame. But I knew no one and no one knew I was a reader and they had their own regular readers. But I prayed for it anyway. I have no idea at all if these messages are true are not. But I certainly am sure the content of the last two messages on the forum are quite correct, the trouble with Pedro Regis is there seems to be millions of them. It s like trying to catch up with a swarm of bees. Discernment becomes well like I say holding water in the hands.
