Yes. And that article is from 2013. That’s why I’m so frustrated/annoyed at the pollyannish approach of “giving the benefit of the doubt.” We KNOW what he’s up to and we’ve known it from day one. It’s been six long years. How long do we continue this foolish credulity in “giving the benefit of the doubt” to a pope who has openly proclaimed his agenda, that of Cardinal Martini, from day one?
This is so hard Brian. What are we to do? Pray and fast and speak truth without saying anything offensive to God. ......but how do we know what offends God in this matter? It is a very dangerous tightrope to walk. God is permitting thi.s. It is the chastisement of His Church. That I know. Prayer is our weapon. Beyond that I honestly dont know. I'm sure this is the reason C. Mueller and C. Burke are being so careful in their speech. We are all in uncharted territory. They have souls to save themselves as well as to shepherd ours. God is allowing some very ugly sins to be exposed. What is happening in Washington and Brussells and Hollywood is about to be shown to the world. It will connect directly to Rome. The whole edifice--the whole ugly masonic edifice that has eaten into the vitals of our Church may well come crashing down. I'm not sure any of us are ready for the horrors that are going to be unmasked. Our Blessed Mother is our safe refuge in this sea of filth and stench and corruption. She told us that in Akita and in Quito. She warned us. What I CANT COMPREHEND is how her warnings have fallen on so many deaf ears . Sorry for the rant. Can I ask an honest question? You’ve been attentive to these ongoing debates. This article really opened your eyes, it seems. But this article was published in 2013. I’ve been trying to warm folks here for five years of the danger of this papacy. What was it about reading this six year old article today, in 2019, that this has finally, concretely opened your eyes to this reality we face? I’ve been posting it and others like it here for years, exasperated. Because for the last five years everyone reading it should have had your current reaction to it. But few did. How do we finally convince folks that your current reaction is the right and proper reaction?
Exactly! I am somewhat surprised to hear people repeat: "we don´t understand his mind". Well, the point is: do we have to? Shouldn´t it be enough to bear in mind these two principles: PERSONNEL IS POLICY (as our own Brian likes to remind us) and ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS. (That DOES NOT mean we are judging the man ) But, above all, let´s remember Our Lord´s wise advice:
These are good questions. I knew quite honestly right after his election that something was off. I heard Martini being quoted as wanting Borgolio because he could "get it done". That sent off red flags. But I waited and prayed hoping the grace of this stupendous office and responsibility would prevail. There was the devotion to Our Lady. The seemingly simple faith. But I remember saying to someone in 2013 "if he goes against established church teaching he is not the pope" thus satisfying myself about papal infallibility. Then came AL and the cat was out of the bag. We had a big problem. I got voc iferous in my concerns.(hadn't been very long on the forum at that point) then I listened to priests on sensus fidellium warning about the grave danger of rash judgement and other sins against charity--particularly grave because it is the pope. I went to confession. A holy priest of great wisdom and age who suffered under the communists in Eastern Europe told me it was very disturbing but that God was permitting it to purify the Church and we must pray pray pray. So I have tried to follow that advice. (Many trips to confession however....anger getting control of charity too often) but this article for some reason triggered me. Really triggered me. I guess that is the best explanation I have. I dont want to endanger my soul. It's a tightrope we walk.
Bottom line AED, is your priest confessor was right. All we can do is pray and do penance and trust in our God to resolve the poor state our church is in. It seems clear to me from current prophecy that our church will soon split, because of actions top Cardinals and Bishops will make, which will clearly define the true magisterium of the Church and the false church. Point is, it is up to them to declare the false church and until then your wise confessor was right.....pray, pray, pray.
I think so many here, myself included, are so afraid to make judgements about someone’s intentions for fear of hurting ones reputation or spreading error...especially that of a pope. Many of us wanted to have as much evidence as our own conscience demanded before coming to a conclusion...and publicly stating that. I for one rely on those I trust have the intellectual ability to seek out, analyze and disseminate evidence to that end. Sometimes we wait on the prompting of the Holy Spirit even when we have reach a conclusion in our heart. We all come to the truth in our own time and possibly in His time. Wanting to get this right is critical...to the church....and to our own souls. At this moment, I think we have the evidence to reach a just conclusion and maybe this is the timing God has designed for us individually... I pray that if I’m wrong, that God forgives me. We are all sincerely seeking the truth. Without faithful shepherds, we are left to our own discernment...hopefully with the aid of the Holy Spirit. When Jesus accended into heaven, the apostles were left without their shepherd....but He did not abandon His new church or His apostles. The fire of Holy Spirit decended unto them and lead them.... We need to rely on that same Spirit now...as it seems we are without our earthly shepherd. Just my thoughts anyhow...
No you said it all correct...it just makes me sad we have to go through all of this. Sure, I always say lets be happy but inside its a burden. If we were in the world we would ignore it and just get caught up in everyday life. But we are Christians...the tightrope. We must enjoy the moment but at the same time enter the spiritual battle. Its a very strange place to be. If you read Mother Teresa or most modern saints they are happy and smiling on the outside. Understanding joy is what is needed in the world...but they have this strong interior battle going on, that is hard and sad. So my sad face is that we need to go through this battle. I wish it would be more easier. I guess I am saying we don't live in easy times. The good thing is we have accepted our cross.

Oh yes....there is this constant daily struggle to try to maintain peace in our hearts,...that the ultimate outcome if remain faithful, will be good. I think most of us understand the basic battle between good and evil...but In addition to fighting this battle of the soul, we are constantly fighting the mundane battles of everyday life....as expressed recently on this forum. I guess for myself, I fight mightily hard to be joyful. Not out of any necessarily virtuous conviction, but to do otherwise, I feel defeated...and that’s just not a alternative for me personally. The devil is constantly nipping at my heals....and I’m just not prepared to give him any victories...not now...not ever...if God so grants me the grace. Because that’s all it is to not have your heart just leveled by the evil one...it’s only grace...a gift....through the sacraments. That’s why I get to daily mass. I cannot fight these battles myself. Without grace, I’d just crumble. As would probably most of us. That’s why when anyone asks me how we are to survive these times, I don’t know of any answer other than the sacraments... It’s all grace...for me anyhow.
Christ already won the victory at Calvary. Everything else is just a mopping up operation. To worry is to doubt the Providence of God. As St Paul said, 'What shall separate us from the love of Christ? God permits Satan a certain asendance at the moment only so Mary can get breaking his back all the better. If it turned out that only one person on the whole face of the Earth kept the Faith in that one heart the entire Church would still endure. Jesus loves His Bride the Church a billion times more than we do and would run quicker than a mother would to save her baby from a burning building to save her. The War, the Battle is already won.
Thank you Padraig...please ...please...let us constantly be reminding each other that they victory has been won. We need to be uplifting to one another. We are all going to be subject to periods of doubts, etc., but we cannot forget that this victory already belongs to Christ....that’s why we stay onboard the ship! God wins
