:( How much longer Oh Lord must we watch the iniquity that afflicts thou most Holy church. The stones cry out to thee, your faithful servants await the sound of your trumpets. We cry out for your Mercy.

I am inclined to think that many, many Catholics are in fact concerned about Papa Leo and the James Martin meeting. Although it depends what we might mean by, 'Catholics'. Most Catholics do not go to Church. According to a recent survey most Catholics do not even believe in the Real Presence . So in these terms most Catholics would indeed by fine with the meeting just as I suspect they would be fine with homosexual relationships, divorce, women priests , artificial birth control, adultery and much else. But if by Catholics we mean people who still keep the Faith, go to Church on a weekly basis and still believe I suspect the answer would be that this Faithful Remnant would have been horrified by the meeting.

This week alone he has met representatives of the German church in order to accompany them, James Martin & sister Lucia Caram.

    Not a word of correction.

I despair, I really do. A holy prelate would batter that lot in the same way Christ whipped the money changers.

Do we know he didn't correct them privately, though? Do any of us really know everything he told them?

I've always wondered this. We go by the word of the wayward person who visited the pope, who tells us the pope approves of what they do, but we don't hear what is actually said, or the pope's side.

In any case, it is scandalous and should be clarified publicly by the pope or his spokespersons.

I don't know any Catholics in my circle (well, except maybe one) who aren't bothered by this. It is confusing and disheartening.

But our concern should be far more on our own correction than whether or not the pope is properly correcting others. WE know homosexuality is a grave sin. So we don't practice it, and we guide those around us to know the truth about it, if we are called to do so. But being overly upset that other people aren't getting whipped and driven out of the Vatican like we think they should be isn't particularly helpful to our souls, I don't think.

If they give public scandal they should be corrected publicly.

I feel strongly about this since public scandal leads to the loss of souls.

I understand. I feel strongly about it too. But I also worry that constantly criticizing our pope is leading to the loss of souls too.

I a nobody taught moral theology for some years. I was gravely aware of my responsibility to stay true and faithful to our Holy Catholic faith in all that I said and in harmony with our great patrimony. The responsibility of those in public positions of power and authority is infinitely greater. There was something about mill stones and all that....

Public penance for grave offenses especially by public persons needs reinstituted. I am not talking sharia here but actual remorse bearing fruit in penitential acts.

We are living through a diabolical disorientation.

    Pope Leo has my prayers.

These times are very grave. We are in a chastisement. I believe it will get worse before it gets better. But I’m not engaging in much in this thread. What we think should happen isn’t happening. We can’t make public scandal go away. Prayer and fasting is the remedy and we might not see immediate results. The joy of the Lord is my strength.
Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build My Church.

These are also my thoughts. These are very grave times. Many of us were praying hard for a holy pope that would rescue and lead His Church into repentance, and restore it to holy orthodoxy, but God in His wisdom has seen fit to allow this great trial of our Church to continue. It is God's Will that we continue to suffer this, and I feel that our response should be an equally grave repentance--for our own sins and on the behalf of others, especially our prelates. It fills me with dread when I think of what we all owe to God for our worldliness and laxity that led to a punishment of this magnitude.

A couple weeks ago, after a discussion on this forum about weather manipulation, I began reading a mainstream book called Under a White Sky, written by a prize-winning journalist who traveled the world to see the interventions humanity is engaging in to "save" nature, and the repercussions of such constant meddling that seems to only make things worse or put off destruction. I wanted to read about this from the "other side's" viewpoint: that of a mainstream secularist. I never read anything other than spiritual books, so this was a stark contrast to what I'm used to. I thought it would make me angry, but actually, it has made me very sad....not for the destruction that's being done to God's world in a way that will affect us all, but for the dreadful emptiness and despair in the author and probably many, many like her. The way she talks...it's so bitter, and lonely, devoid of hope. She can't even help making sad, sarcastic references to God (or "the gods"), because her soul can't truly conceive of a world without the supernatural. It comes through so plainly that she feels a sense of abandonment by God. Perhaps it was her parents who didnt teach her, or society who talked the truth out of her at an early age, or sin that darkened her intellect until she was drowning beneath its murky waters... Regardless, I feel such a a longing to rescue her soul and hand her right into God's waiting arms.

How have I lived 40 years knowing the love of God and not done so much more to save these poor lost people? How can I waste so much time talking? Jesus THIRSTS, in all these parched souls wandering our planet, thinking they need to numb themselves, find pleasure at all costs, or devote themselves to causes like saving the planet--the only home they know. If the pope isn't going to help them the way we desperately hoped he would, well then let's roll up our sleeves and do it ourselves.

    Ezekiel 34
The Lord Will Be Israel’s Shepherd

The word of the Lord came to me: “Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals. My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.

“ ‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock, therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.

“ ‘For this is what the Sovereign Lord says: I myself will search for my sheep and look after them. As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land. I will tend them in a good pasture, and the mountain heights of Israel will be their grazing land. There they will lie down in good grazing land, and there they will feed in a rich pasture on the mountains of Israel. I myself will tend my sheep and have them lie down, declares the Sovereign Lord. I will search for the lost and bring back the strays. I will bind up the injured and strengthen the weak, but the sleek and the strong I will destroy. I will shepherd the flock with justice.

Please never despair. There is always hope. It is Christ's church. He is in control. This is the moment of crucifixion, resurrection will follow.

Christians must lean on the Cross of Christ just as travelers lean on a staff when they begin a long journey. They must have the Passion of Christ deeply embedded in their minds and hearts, because only from it can they derive peace, grace, and truth.

    I have not lost hope.

Its the despair of one who does not know how to deal with a situation where in one week the Pope, on 3 separate occasions met heretical teachers who are leading the sheep astray and all goes on as 'normal' but in reality this is a sign of diabolical disorientation at the very heart of the church. The smoke of satan is billowing through the Vatican without restraint.

There's a complete unwillingness to confront the cancer of heresy and apostacy that riddles the Church.
