What a terrible weekend for death of innocents and spreading of fear. Oh how I pray for God's Justice to be done! It is so sad to see the images here and also the fear in the eyes of the children and people in Kenya.
Sadder yet that the people who did this believe that they are doing so as part of God's Will and sadder yet again that they believe that after death they will be taken to heaven as a reward for being martyrs. I read of an Imman in Syria who has issued a decree recently that raping women as part of the uprising there is a righteous act. It brought back to me a book I read when young. It cited public sermons by senior Catholic Bishops and Cardinals in France and Germany encouraging their congregations to kill each other and citing the fact that God was on, 'The side of France' , or on ,'The Side of Germany' in the conflict. Poor God what crimes are committed in His name. I wonder when we ask God to bless our countries do we ever really think what we are asking God to Bless? Poor Pope Benedict xv the Pope of Peace during the Great War is said to have died of a broken heart for calling all sides to task. One side accused him of being pro German the other of being pro France. We all of us tend to think we hold God in our hand and forget rather that it is He who holds us in His hands. Something the Islamic ,'Jihadists' in Kenya and Pakistan would have done well to remember.
Hmm, yes, Joshua 5 13* While Joshua was near Jericho, he raised his eyes and saw one who stood facing him, drawn sword in hand.h Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you one of us or one of our enemies?” 14He replied, “Neither. I am the commander* of the army of the LORD: now I have come.” Then Joshua fell down to the ground in worship, and said to him, “What has my lord to say to his servant?”
