Dear Padraig, Bringing one closer to God is what you are called to. It is a gift and privelege that few are chosen for. I sense a humility about you in all of this, and that in and of itself is a good sign. It is an awesome responsibility....but if He leads you to it, He'll see you through it+ Thank you....
