You know all this reminds me of my much younger days, in my teens and early twenties, before I met Our Lady. I was totally evil and eaten up with hatred and spite. But my one enduring memory of that sad time in my life was that I was toally plum loco, mad ,crazy ..a moon beam. As indeed all evil people are. Evil by definition being a form of insanity. But I have to say no matter how far out mad I was I would never have bowed down to a piece of wood and called it a homage. I was never that sark stirring crazy. Fr. Pacwa's testimony is so powerful. Especially the photograph of the statue of Jesus standing amidst the destruction from the landslide triggered by an earthquake greater than 7.0 that happened on the Feast of Corpus Christi in 1970. That statue alone was spared. The few villagers that survived the earthquake made an inscription on the base of this Jesus statue that reads: Such is the fate of those who worship pachamama instead of the true Christ
St Paul mightn't have 'attacked' the Athenian idol-worshippers, no more than our brave young Austrian attacked any Amazonian person, but Paul did not incorporate any Greek idol in the Eucharist. Also, 1 Corinthians 10:20"...the sacrifices of pagans are offered to demons, not to God. And I do not want you to be participants with demons". Pope Francis is a classic example of one in a hole and continuing to dig.
I for one, do not think it was God's disapproval of Pope Benedict's resignation at all. I believe he was fulfilling God's will to the letter and still is.

It is an error, and if held by PBXVI as the basis for his resignation then that could indeed make his resignation invalid. Which part of this do you fail to grasp?

If his resignation is invalid, then It is not up to us to do anything about it. Go ahead, Brian, you and SgC have the last words. Brian, Isn't it possible that Ganswein misstated PBXVI's position and that may be why a clarification was put forth? I am only presenting this as another possibility. The other point that has been made on this forum recently is that PEB declared in his own words in 2013 that both the See of Rome and the See of Peter were empty and waiting for a conclave.
