I've seen a video clip wherein a Vatican spokesperson denounced this action as "theft." Isn't that typical of wrong-doers. If they are rightly / justly consequenced, they're victims and those consequencing them are the bad guys.
Here is the full video of the removal of the idols from the church: Bravo to these brave young men. They didn't even hide what they were doing. They carried the statues out in the open right out of the church.
Just watching the video again and it is interesting to note that the statues don't appear to float. I assumed they were wood and would float downstream and out to sea. If they just sank then they could be retrieved.
Lol... PF will not like this...this brave, holy soul just polluted the Tiber River....awwwwww....boohooo
"These people don't believe in dialogue." Really?????.....you betcha...you’re right....we believe in JESUS....not your false idols! You betcha!
I'm not sure if this has been post yet. "Episode 14: Amazon Synod Update with Dr. Matthew Bunson Published on Oct 21, 2019 What's happening inside and outside the Synod on the Amazon? Amazonian statues hurled into the Tiber, expectations for the final Synod document, and the anniversary of the Pact of the Catecombs. Edward Pentin and Dr. Matthew Bunson explain the recent news."
Edward Pentin is an excellent journalist - so down to earth. EWTN Nightly News, on the other hand, can be painful to watch. Here's their report on the removal of the idols from the Church dedicated to the Blessed Mother: Rome Reports has been described as the Vatican's Pravda - not without good reason. They have an interview with, presumably, someone involved in the exhibition who says that he and others were gathered together when three people entered "dressed in work clothes" holding cameras came in and took the "images that symbolise the Mother Earth of the Amazon". I wonder where they were gathered because the video I saw only showed two elderly people in the church. There was nobody near the side chapel which he says is dedicated to the Latin American martyrs. (From the pictures of the chapel, the "exhibition" looks like a bring & buy sale. ) If the man being interviewed is part of the event's organisers, then the mystery of what the idol represents has been solved. It represents the Mother Earth of the Amazon. Pagan. Shame on the Carmelites, shame on the Bishops and shame on the Pope, all of whom venerated false idols in the house of God. No theft took place. The profane was removed from the sacred. Here's the video:
