Agreed. I would rather they had picked her because she's a new symbol of Marxism than because she's antithetical to our Lord Jesus Christ and his Blessed Mother.
From Lifesite News: Traditional priests’ leader calls for day of ‘reparation’ for Amazon Synod’s ‘idolatrous rites’ https://www.lifesitenews.com/news/t...reparation-for-amazon-synods-idolatrous-rites FULL TEXT Menzingen, October 28, 2019 On the feast of Saints Simon and Jude, Apostles Dear Members of the Society, The recent Synod on the Amazon was witness to terrible scenes where the abomination of idolatrous rites was played out within the sanctuary of God in new and unthinkable ways. And then, the final document of this tumultuous assembly attacked the holiness of the Catholic priesthood, pushing for both the abolition of ecclesiastical celibacy and the establishment of a female diaconate. Truly, the seeds of apostasy which our venerable Founder, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre, had identified from the earliest days as being at work in the Council, continue to yield their putrid fruits with renewed effectiveness. In the name of inculturation, pagan elements are increasingly integrated into divine worship and we can see, once again, how the liturgy that followed of the Second Vatican Council is perfectly suited to this. In response to these events, we call on all members of the Society, including Third Order members, to observe a day of prayer and reparation, because we cannot remain indifferent to such attacks on the holiness of Holy Mother the Church. We ask that a fast be observed in all our houses on Saturday, November 9th. We invite all the faithful to the same and we also encourage children to offer prayers and sacrifices. On Sunday, November 10th, 2019, each priest of the Society will celebrate a Mass of reparation, and in each chapel, the Litanies of the Saints, taken from the liturgy of the Rogations, will be sung or recited to ask God to protect His Church and to spare it from the punishments that such acts cannot fail to draw down upon it. We urge all priest friends, as well as all Catholics who love the Church, to do the same. Such is due to the honour of the Holy Roman Catholic Church founded by Our Lord Jesus Christ, which is neither idolatrous nor pantheistic. Don Davide Pagliarani Superior General
I think you are asking whether All Saints Day is a day of abstinence because Ash Wednesday and Good Friday are the only fasting days. The answer to your question is No: "When solemnities, such as the Annunciation, Assumption, All Saints etc. fall on a Friday, we neither abstain or fast." https://www.ewtn.com/lent/fasting.aspx
This is what I meant - you have judged that he made a mistake. He is too intelligent and knowledgeable for that. I never implied that God desired Pope Benedict XVI to fool the Church. My belief is that Benedict XVI was threatened and forced to resign. But in reality he only resigned his ministerium and not his munus. "Here, allow me to go back once again to 19 April 2005. The real gravity of the decision was also due to the fact that from that moment on I was engaged always and forever by the Lord. Always – anyone who accepts the Petrine ministry no longer has any privacy. He belongs always and completely to everyone, to the whole Church. [....} The "always" is also a "for ever" – there can no longer be a return to the private sphere. My decision to resign the active exercise of the ministry does not revoke this. I do not return to private life, to a life of travel, meetings, receptions, conferences, and so on. I am not abandoning the cross, but remaining in a new way at the side of the crucified Lord. I no longer bear the power of office for the governance of the Church, but in the service of prayer I remain, so to speak, in the enclosure of Saint Peter." http://w2.vatican.va/content/benedict-xvi/en/audiences/2013/documents/hf_ben-xvi_aud_20130227.html God’s Wrath Against Sinful Humanity Romans 1 18The wrath of God is being revealed from heaven against all the godlessness and wickedness of people, who suppress the truth by their wickedness, 19since what may be known about God is plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. 20For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. 21For although they knew God, they neither glorified him as God nor gave thanks to him, but their thinking became futile and their foolish hearts were darkened. 22Although they claimed to be wise, they became fools 23and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images made to look like a mortal human being and birds and animals and reptiles. 24Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen. 26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error. 28Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but also approve of those who practice them. +
He did not say, “I resign the office”. He said, “I resign the active exercise of the ministry”. He did not say, “I no longer hold the office”. He said, “I no longer bear the power of the office”. Canon law requires that he resign the office; not just the ministry. He surely knows this. +
but here is the communication that Pope E. Benedict gave on Feb. 11, 2013 Dear Brothers, I have convoked you to this Consistory, not only for the three canonizations, but also to communicate to you a decision of great importance for the life of the Church. After having repeatedly examined my conscience before God, I have come to the certainty that my strengths, due to an advanced age, are no longer suited to an adequate exercise of the Petrine ministry. I am well aware that this ministry, due to its essential spiritual nature, must be carried out not only with words and deeds, but no less with prayer and suffering. However, in today’s world, subject to so many rapid changes and shaken by questions of deep relevance for the life of faith, in order to govern the barque of Saint Peter and proclaim the Gospel, both strength of mind and body are necessary, strength which in the last few months, has deteriorated in me to the extent that I have had to recognize my incapacity to adequately fulfill the ministry entrusted to me. For this reason, and well aware of the seriousness of this act, with full freedom I declare that I renounce the ministry of Bishop of Rome, Successor of Saint Peter, entrusted to me by the Cardinals on 19 April 2005, in such a way, that as from 28 February 2013, at 20:00 hours, the See of Rome, the See of Saint Peter, will be vacant and a Conclave to elect the new Supreme Pontiff will have to be convoked by those whose competence it is. Dear Brothers, I thank you most sincerely for all the love and work with which you have supported me in my ministry and I ask pardon for all my defects. And now, let us entrust the Holy Church to the care of Our Supreme Pastor, Our Lord Jesus Christ, and implore his holy Mother Mary, so that she may assist the Cardinal Fathers with her maternal solicitude, in electing a new Supreme Pontiff. With regard to myself, I wish to also devotedly serve the Holy Church of God in the future through a life dedicated to prayer. From the Vatican, 10 February 2013 BENEDICTUS PP XVI ++++++++++++ It's hard to take, but that is how it is.
Please open up the full portion of SgCatholic's post to which I have chosen to copy and reply. Thank you Sg! This is a marvelous clarification. Benedict sees his living out of the private Petrine ministry as a call from God: "I am not abandoning the cross, but remaining in a new way at the side of the crucified Lord. I no longer bear the power of office for the governance of the Church, but in the service of prayer I remain, so to speak, in the enclosure of Saint Peter." We can argue until we're blue in the face about Benedict current official status, but now I understand why he has chosen to continue to wear the white Papal garb. He sees his calling as not a return to private life; God has asked him to do this. His obedience is noble and I rejoice in his prayers for the universal Church! Jesus, give me the courage to pick up my Cross and to press on to Calvary on the path you have chosen! No matter the cost! Safe in the Barque of Peter!
I don’t see any call from God there, Mario. He is in the service of prayer. His own choice. And in WBTW post, he declared the See of Peter and the See of Rome vacant. That is extremely clear to me. He resigned completely from the Papacy. See was vacant. No question. He resigned. All of us are choosing to pray. I would expect no less of a Pope who had resigned.
HH, Sorry, I should have been more explicit. Thank you for catching that. The beginning of what Pope Emeritis stated at the time of his resignation is crucial to his understanding of his call from God: "Here, allow me to go back once again to 19 April 2005. The real gravity of the decision was also due to the fact that from that moment on I was engaged always and forever by the Lord. Always..." He sees this decision as a result of his engagement by the Lord, a part of his calling from God! Safe in the Barque of Peter!
Well, we all are called, Mario. I refuse to see that as anything but what is expected from a Pope about ready to resign. However, that doesn't change the fact that in 2013 he declared the See of Rome and the See of Peter vacant. He clarified that for all time. There is no more issue here. (shaking my head) He's in service of prayer. That's it. Period.
Even Fr. Z sees the reality of the Pachamama bowl on the altar at the closing mass: https://wdtprs.com/2019/10/ritual-bowl-for-demonic-pachamama-placed-on-st-peters-altar-at-closing-mass-of-amazonsynod/ Ritual bowl for demonic Pachamama placed on St. Peter’s altar at closing Mass of #AmazonSynod Posted on 31 October 2019 by Fr. John Zuhlsdorf Robert Moynihan is a long-time vaticanista. In his latest “Letter #59, 2019: In plain sight“, he looks into the pagan element worked into the closing Mass of the Amazon Synod (“walking together”). We had speculated about whether or not the wooden demon idols of Pachamama, a demon goddess to whom human sacrifice was offered, a kind of “mother earth” embodiment, but clearly demonic, would be involved at the closing Mass of the “walking together”. Nope. No demon statuette. That doesn’t mean that Pachamama, the demon pagans worshipped with human sacrifice, wasn’t being openly honored during the Mass, and even put on altar of St. Peter’s, above the bones of the Apostle! Moynihan at great length establishes with reference to video of the closing Mass the bringing forward at the offertory a bowl with a plant that that Francis instructed Msgr. Guido (that poor man) Marini to put on the altar. Of course gifts at the offertory are NOT to be placed on the altar, much less trash like this. What was put on the altar? A bowl of dirt with various plants, one with red flowers. Those are ugly plants. Since they are not beautiful, they must have some other meaning or purpose. Skipping to the point… Moynighan posted: Then, after further searching, I learned that a bowl of soil with plants in it is often connected with ceremonial rituals involving Pachamana. There is one among many websites that describes the ritual (link): “If it is difficult for you to move to a natural space to offer to Mother Earth, do not worry, you can perform your own ritual at home: “- Use a bottle or flower pot full of dirt, there you proceed to make a hole, it is recommended to do it with your hands to connect with the energy of the ritual. [This goes back to what happened in the Vatican Gardens… the pagan, demonic ceremony.] “- A kind of well is made, and food and drinks are poured for the enjoyment of the Pachamama. “- The food option is extensive, one can place anything from fruits to Creole foods and seeds. In the case of drinks, chicha, natural juices, honey, wine, even coca leaves are suggested. “- Then we proceed to cover it with dirt and flowers. “Every year more people join in and they learn to leave our daily work and reflect and realize who we are, where we are and have this gesture of recognition and thanks to Mother Earth, which we say is humanity, the earth, the air, the animals, the water, the fire, which is everything that makes our life.” Also: “You should never miss something red, it is the favorite color of the Pacha! [Red flower.] So it seemed that the bowl of flowers presented at the offertory of the final Synod Mass, and then placed on the altar during the consecration, may have been connected with a ritual of veneration, and thanks, to Mother Earth, known as Pachamana… So the images were not in the basilica, but perhaps an offering to Pachamana, in a bowl, was… Ann Barnhardt has the goods on this black bowl. HERE She has several posts. In summary…. These black bowls, the same as the one with the red flower on the altar of St. Peter’s, were all over the place in the Synod Hall. They were all over the church Santa Maria in Traspontina, where all the evil displays and presence of this demonic shaman and women religious were found all day. The black bowl was in the pagan Vatican garden ceremony in honor of Pachamama: Look on the left. A closeup shows there is a symbol on the bottom of the upturned bowl. Ann may have found a version of that symbol, which is, surprise, for Pachamama. Detail… rotated. With a red flower in honor of the demon goddess on the altar at St. Peter’s at the direction of Francis. So, an obvious of statue wasn’t placed on or near the altar of St. Peter’s Basilica, but this instrument with the demonic symbol was placed on the mensa of the altar of Sacrifice directly over the bones of Peter himself. The implications of this are, frankly, horrifying to contemplate.
I can see that if my wife and I met you, Geralyn might be waiting long hours for yours and my conversation to end before my going to bed! Again let me partially quote Benedict: ...I no longer bear the power of office for the governance of the Church, but in the service of prayer I remain, so to speak, in the enclosure of Saint Peter." Now he fully understands his decision necessitates a new conclave. But the fact that he continues to clothe in white means that he believes that: ..he bears the power of office...in the service of prayer. I personally struggle with that understanding myself; but since Benedict doesn't, it must mean for the sake of his own sanity, he still understands his choice as coming from God's original calling to accept the Petrine Office. Pax Christi!
It means that prophecy is being fulfilled right now, as evil has reached even the top of the Church. We keep our lamps lit in the face of this evil.
