I agree, the security at the door of the basilica is like something you would get at a riot and the ministers of the Eucharist people seem to take 5 mins sanitising their hands before handing out. Plus I get the impression that the vaccines have in some circles there also become the golden calf. What a shock they will get and hopefully soon.
Garabandal, I was there last week and I won't be rushing back. Our Lady has been locked up. The restrictions are totally over the top. So sad
This is disturbing. Here in the US thousands of American students go into debt to get a college education. When they see immigrants walk into the country, and a get a free ride to college it is a bitter pill to swallow. I am all in for giving a helping hand to immigrants in need, but our US students should be the priority for educational dollars, they should not be cast aside to promote some political agenda. The student loan companies here in the states are corrupt. They are in the business of keeping students and their families in debt while raking in huge profits. Yes, funny old world.
One of my priest friends was strolling across the grounds recently in the very visible habit of his order. A lady came up to him to bless something in a bag. Immediately a security person rushed up and demanded to see his priestly credentials.
But Blessed Mother is still there despite the woundedness of human beings. The thought occurred to me that she is the New Ark. It's a great grace to be able to get to Knock Shrine. I can't. Sorry I am on my soapbox about this. Rant rant
One of the group I was with had a previous encounter with Our Lady whilst at adoration in the Shrine. They were transported back to being present at the Apparition and Our Lady told them the graces she offered then are still present. They told me of being enveloped in a brilliant globe of light which covered two thirds of the seating area, and advised those in our group not to be content with sitting at the back. They had originally been sitting at the back themselves but got a prompt to move up just before this experience. This encounter lasted approx 45 minutes in which time they were totally oblivious to all activity around, adoration ending, people moving, chatting etc.
The basilica holds over 4000 people. At 3pm mass they only let 200 in. There were at least fifty to sixty people some elderly and disabled not allowed in. I counted where I was seated 5 people in seven rows. Each row held 11 people so that is five people in 77 seats.
I am glad for you that you and your in laws had a fighting chance. I agree, it’s deplorable, but you were greatly blessed.
Prayer for the Holy Father to Consecrate Russia. O Immaculate Heart of Mary, you are the holy Mother of God and our tender Mother. Look upon the distress in which the Church and the whole of humanity are living because of the spread of materialism and the persecution of the Church. In Fatima, you warned against these errors, as you spoke about the errors of Russia. You are the Mediatrix of all graces. Implore your Divine Son to grant this special grace for the Pope: that he might consecrate Russia to your Immaculate Heart, so that Russia will be converted, a period of peace will be granted to the world, and your Immaculate Heart will triumph, through an authentic renewal of the Church in the splendour of the purity of the Catholic Faith, of the sacredness of Divine worship and of the holiness of the Christian life. O Queen of the Holy Rosary and our sweet Mother, turn your merciful eyes to us and graciously hear this our trusting prayer. Amen.
17 August is my son's birthday. Is that really the feast day of Our Lady of Knock? Like you, I thought it was 21 August.
