The spiritual battle that rages over this simple request dwarfs any human war we can imagine! Lord have mercy!

    Everyone,

Please practice the First Saturday Devotion which Our Lady of Fatima requested!

Safe in the Hearts of Jesus and Mary!

    MS7,

Or could it be a build up? First consecration- his pontificate (May 13, 2013); Second Consecration- the world (Oct 13, 2013); Third Consecration- Russia (May 13, 2014)? Then he makes his trip to Israel.

Safe in the Refuge of the Immaculate Heart!

  4. Yes! AND he already said he would like to go to Fatima in 2014. Well, you can be sure he will be there in 2017 for the Anniversary too! (y) Most probably the year before (2016) will be proclaimed the Year of Fatima leading up to 2017---or 2017 will be named that year. I never really paid that much attention to what each year represented (like this is the YEAR OF FAITH). Will next year be the year of HOPE? THEN CHARITY??

  5. Luisa Piccarreta lay confined to bed for more than sixty years, each day recording in her notebooks all that Jesus revealed to her. The notebook entry for January 29, 1919, reads:

My beloved daughter, I want you to know the order of my Providence. In every 2000 year period I have renewed the world. In the first period I renewed it with the flood. In the second 2000 years I renewed it with my coming to the earth and manifesting my humanity from which, as so many channels of light, my divinity shone. And in this third period of 2000 years, those who are good and the saints themselves have lived the fruits of my humanity, but have enjoyed my divinity scarcely at all. Now we are at the end of the third period and there will be a third renovation. This is why there is general confusion. It is due to the preparation for the third renovation.

Mac thanks for the reminder. I recall casting doubt on whether or not the 3rd secret's happenings had come to pass as interpretted by various Vatican personages and that it was all done and dusted.

However I cannot recall that I accepted Lucia had denied the consecration had been adequately been done. I have a head-cold at the moment that doesn't help the memory.

In any case I suppose I am asking knowledgable readers to supply helpful references for their belief that Lucia has denied the consecration has been adequately done. I am about to have a look at Fatima's video.

Mac that is exactly my concern. The Pope cannot command whatever he pleases and this is one of them.
It is indeed against faith to command an action of a bishop that publically means that this bishop accepts a Private Revelation he does in fact not yet accept. Obviously if Russia is especially singled out for consecration then all will know the reason and purpose and it would be a bit silly to pretend otherwise.

To immediately conclude such bishops (who do not as yet accept Fatima and so do not wish to especially name Russia in such a consecration) are "wolves" simply for that fact alone ... well that seems to me the same sort of extremist religiosity that enabled the Crusades, medieval village Witch Hunts, burning of abortion clinics and murderous riots straight after Mosque prayers. I do not believe Our Mother, who as you say makes "requests", would want to be associated with such sentiments.

I think I am also with Jon on this one...it doesn't really fly despite the attempts of the good Jon Schroedel.

Yes pious sermons and ancient art may well mix up the Church Temporal with the Heavenly Jerusalem with good effect.
But then ancient "church" art does that all the time and doesn't make it correct or mainstream. The Circumcision and Presentation (which happened around 4 weeks apart, one in Bethlehem the other in the Jerusalem Temple) are often mixed up together in church art (and the Rosary) but that doesn't make it strictly correct - though the sentiment is fine. (Its fascinating how some medieval art seems to include small space-ships in the background as well!)

However to use post-Enlightenment logic to take this even further and conclude Mary is the Bride of Christ, I would still have to say, is not really mainstream Catholic Piety. Nowhere in Lumen Gentium does it actually say what you want it to say. In fact I cannot find the expression or anything close to it in any Vatican Document. Perhaps others can.

OK that was good - except the small part where he seems to believe that Vatican II was a mistake.
I do not buy that sorry.

Anyways, the gist of Fr's argument seems to be that Pope JPII did not actually mention Russia in his consecration, is that correct?

The real question you should be asking is ,if Sr Lucia was happy with the consecration why was she kept in such strict silence for the remainder of her life? Why did Cardinal Bertone who grilled her for hours keep no notes or recordings of his interviews?http://www.fatimacrusader.com/cr98/cr98pg19.pdf

I understand where you are coming from though I have never been comfortable with the use of witness silence as a form of evidence for my own position. I'll have a read now.

BH said' I have never been comfortable with the use of witness silence as a form of evidence for my own position.'
The point being her silence was not her own doing.Even after death the Vatican was so fearful of this 1 nun her room had to be locked and sealed.

Yes I agree with that Mac.
All I am saying is that its often hard to determine what a person's silence means in a given context.
The old saying "silence means consent" is not very helpful. The Vatican these days remains quiest about a number of unusual situations in the Church (there are so many (n)) ... but that doesn't necessarily mean consent (eg communion in the hand). Nor does it necessarily mean toleration. Sometimes we just don't know what it means. Yet the minimalists always want us to believe something is wrong unless the Vatican comes out and says its OK.

So I do not know how to interpret Lucia's silence on things Fatima. Just because she was forced to remain silent (like Padre Pio) that doesn't mean she necessarily would have disagreed with the "official" line (though it looks that way). Obviously it allows the authorities to have it their way though. We just don't know what part is true and what part is spin  .

If they have lived their lives in obedience, then they will say what their superiors command them to say out of obedience. This is the special vow a Jesuit makes to the Holy Father (maybe not kept so much anymore). I remember Fr. John Hardon, a saint in my opinion, come out publicly against something he had privately supported and help start, after getting a call from a superior telling him to do so. He told my friend privately you know how I feel but my life is one of obedience.

True BH, It really would seem to me that Cardinal Bertone ,If he had gathered any hard evidence,[and he was in a position to gain some]would have flown it from the top of St Peter's for all to see and silence his critics. What did we get instead? a book that did not address one single point , rather a personal attack on Antonio Socci, a common tactic for those on shaky ground.

  16. In the THREAD: Suddenly and Unexpectedly Fatima wrote this: and I responded...

Fr. Jim Anderson M.S.A. gave an excellent talk regarding freemasonry, the consecration and the conspiracy of silence in the Vatican at the Divine Will Conference in Florida earlier this year (2012). He got a standing ovation and it was a dear friend who was given the notes of his talk by him personally. I have a copy of those notes. Maybe I will make a thread with the talk on it....This is ONE of the reasons why I believe that Bertone' wanted in there as pontiff VERY BADLY---or to put one of his own in ---but --our Lady TRICKED THEM ALL--JUST LIKE LOCUTIONS .ORG SAYS---SHE TRICKED THEM WITH HUMILITY AND now we have HER Pope--who will 'LEAD THE SHEEP THROUGH THE TRIBULATION' as St. Malachy says. Thomas Fahy organized the conference on the Divine Will in Florida.

I have Fr. Anderson's entire speech on my blog: http://theheavenlygaze.blogspot.ie/

  19. I was looking around and I don't know that there was a part II. I know that I printed the article written by Mark Mallett and added the info regarding Fr. Amorth. I will have to go through some papers and look. sorry.
